  5. The replacement battleship doctrine is finally here! These are basically the new equivalent of machs.

  7. A little of the reasoning before we get to the fits:

  9. So, why this new battleship when we already have tempests ? Although there is nothing inherently "wrong" with the tempests and they do offer a good bit of flexibility, it was the fitting team and skyteam's overwhelming opinion that they simply didn't have the staying power that we needed, which machs used to provide. In addition, with all of the low slots of the tempest reserved for much needed tank, they left little freedom to eeking out more hitting power.

In comparison, the abaddon fit (listed below), introduces a significantly higher (20k) ehp over the tempest, while providing nearly 2k more alpha and similar rate of fire than the tempests, IN ADDITION to freedom of two damage low slots that can be refit for an additional (30-40k ehp) tank if required and called for by the FC.

Furthermore, after checking the skills of FCON pilots as a sample, it became apparent that a switch such as this would not take a large amount of time considering the numbers of people who already have amarr battleship level to 4. Therefore it was agreed that this would be the right path to go down.

  15. It is important to note, that tempests will be allowed on this fleet until they are wrecks to claim srp from, or packaged and on the way to jita. Check the recent doctrine updates thread here for more information on Tempest SRP.

  19. Point proteus fit was slightly adjusted for lower cost (Republic Fleet scrambler -> T2 Warp scrambler)
