Sectors: There are many islands found throughout Orias. Most islands are actually uninhabited or undiscovered, which goes to show just how large the world is Orias really is. That being said, the world map contains only the large, notable islands; rather than country, the islands are divided into sectors. These sectors, or nations. These sectors all have a capital island. The sector the players begin is is called Lyranova.

Magi: Magi are those born with innate, magical abilities. Not ust anyone can cast magic, and royal magi are a valued resource that are often sought to serve royalty.

Skylands: As the name implies, the Skylands are a series of islands suspended in the air. This is where most sentient life makes their home, as Outland is said to be cursed. Those who test these rumors by flying through the barrier of clouds below often find, to their dismay, these rumors to be true.

Fey: Fey are mysterious, magical spirits said to come from an outside plane. Examples of Fey include: Nymphs, Fairies, Pixies, and so forth.

Fiend: A fiend is a monstrosity created from souls. In short, when an area (such as a battlefield) has countless souls scattered about, fiends are likely to develop. Fiends enjoy feasting on the souls of others.

Outland: Outland, also known as the Overworld, is the land below the series of floating islands. Most religions shun the Outland and claim it to be inhabited by fiends. That being said, Skylanders have actually headed to Outland before. The information they returned with indicates that the planet below is habitable, but most aren't willing to take the risk of colonizing it quite yet.
