Moosecow #3 Part 1

[10:38] <~Blackout> -Minithing... thing starting!-
[10:40] * Jauni is laying on Blackout's back comfortably, but gingerly and touching as little of his back as she can while being comfortable.
[10:41] <~Blackout> The scene is set with the group of Blackout, Snowshoe, and Jauni riding a railcar with only the engineer aboard besides them. The only sources of light coming from the softly buzzing lamps that adorn the tunnel and a solitary lamp is clipped to the cart, the tunnel around them not nearly as derelict appearing as some. But they should be reaching their destination soon, the Depository.
[10:43] * Snowshoe looks over at Jauni and Blackout. "Don't think I've met you, mechmare. Name's Snowshoe," she said simply, smiling.
[10:44] * Jauni looks over at Snowshoe, "Not mech, metal. And no, we haven't. I'm Jauni Silverclip..."
[10:44] <~Blackout> "She's Major Grumpy." Blackout says with a snicker. "And I'm trying to cheer her up."
[10:44] * Snowshoe chuckled. "Mechmare flows better," she said, holding out a hoof. "I like the name. Some folks call me Tinker, too." She grinned at Blackout. "She's not reverie!"
[10:46] * Blackout chuckles softly. "I know, but he at least has a reason to be distressed... and I've never actually seen him grumpy." The traincart seems to be slowing down as the chatter, and the engineers actions seem to mimick that.
[10:47] * Snowshoe chuckled softly. "I know. I just call him that. Actually, hell, you're more grumpy," she teased casually. "Though I hear good news..." she said with a wink.
[10:48] * Jauni sighs and rolls her eyes, not responding.
[10:49] * Blackout blinks at Snowshoe. "What is good news? Hasn't that stuff been extinct for over two hundred years?" he says with a smirk. The cart slows to a halt, ahead of them a rectangular airlock, massive like a vault door, just less intricate.
[10:50] * Snowshoe shrugged, getting up as the cart started to slow down. "A little, wet birdy told me," she said casually, climbing out of the railcar and looking up at the door. "Cool."
[10:51] * Blackout vaults climbs off the cart carefully, being he is carrying Jauni. Trotting over towards the door, which actually has a railblock and guard post set before it, ponies in power armor acting as sentinels to it. And a certain small pegasus mare with one eye there as well, perhaps conversing with one of the guards?
[10:53] * Jauni blinks, looking at the guards and the scene. "So... here?"
[10:53] <Qindeo> Proverb was indeed conversing with one of the guards!
[10:54] * Snowshoe let out a low whistle, then spotted a familiar, tiny mare butt. "Hey! Is that some Provy?"
[10:55] * Blackout chuckles as he trots along. "Sergeant? That you up there mare?" he says with a small smile.
[10:55] <Qindeo> Proverb blinks, turning. "C-Captain!" She squeaks, snapping off a salute.
[10:56] * Jauni looks at Proverb and frowns, although she doesn't vocalize anything.
[10:57] <~Blackout> The guards see Proverb saluting and snap to a relaxed position of respect, hard to stand at attention in power armor. Blackout snickers and returns the salute. "Evening, what brings you to BF Nowhere?"
[10:57] * Snowshoe looked over at Jauni, nudging her. "Quiet, ain't'cha?" she said casually.
[10:57] <Qindeo> "Uhm... g-getting a book, sir."
[10:58] * Jauni looks at Snowshoe, "Not in the best of states, sorry..."
[10:58] * Snowshoe shrugged. "No worries." She took a moment to look over the mare. "Starmetal?"
[10:59] * Jauni nods, "Yeah."
[10:59] * Snowshoe nodded idly. "Interesting. I never even heard of this stuff before the Tavern, now it seems like everypony's got some."
[11:01] * Blackout chuckles, showing an ID card to the guard, who nods curtly and salutes, nodding to another guard he pulls a lever in one of the electrical interfaces, the massive metal door creeks and starts to lumber open, dust shifting slightly. "Starmetal was honestly more or less a myth until we encountered Jauni's stable. Now we're mass producing a vaccine for it."
[11:01] * Jauni taps the metallic side of her head, "Some?" An entire half of her body is starmetal.
[11:02] * Snowshoe blinked, looking at Blackout, then at Jauni. "Wait, vaccine? As in...the shit to help Adagio?" she asked casually.
[11:02] <~Blackout> "It won't help Adagio, she's already too far into the stages of poisoning. It's a preventative measure, not a cure."
[11:03] <Qindeo> Proverb silently plans the best moment to tackle-huggle Blackout.
[11:03] * Snowshoe nodded. At this point, she doesn't seem sad, just...resigned. "Ah. Well, hey. 'Least it's something. So, is it that widespread to require a vaccine?"
[11:04] * Blackout also nods to Proverb. "Where'd you hear that there was a book depository from Sergeant? I could have sworn it was under wraps." he then snickers and smirks. "Just kidding, just don't spread it around, the Steelies are in charge here anyhow, just give them respect."
[11:06] <Qindeo> "O-Oh... Rev told me."

[11:07] * Blackout blinks to Proverb. "Reverie is here? Well that's a stroke of luck for one mare among us."
[11:07] * Jauni shakes her head, "Not really... unless you consider an entire stable of ponies like me, then..."
[11:08] * Snowshoe blinked. "Celestia's flamin' flank, an entire Stable like that?" she asked, letting out a low whistle. "And I thought Manehattan was fucked up." She looked over at Blackout and Proverb, grinning. "Damn right it is."
[11:08] <Qindeo> Proverb giggles. "Yush, and I h-heard you had some good news too Captain..."
[11:09] <Qindeo> Proverb gets ready to strike...
[11:09] * Blackout is carrying precious cargo! It's called Jauni, and it's highly volatile!
[11:10] * Blackout blinks slowly to Proverb. "Oh dear... words getting around faster than a plague." he says with a small smile, looking inside the area where the blast door just opened.
[11:11] <Qindeo> Provy giggles. That one mare needed to get off his back!
[11:11] * Snowshoe looked over at the door. "Awesome. Like a Stable, just with...less horrorific sights and more pleasant books."
[11:13] * Jauni isn't paying attention, she's paying attention to Snowshoe more. "Haven't seen it." She looks up at Blackout, "News?"
[11:13] * Blackout laughs and Snowshoe's comment. "Sure, except these airlocks are everywhere. All the stations of decent importance had them installed pre-war." he looks back to Jauni. "I asked Rough to marry me, she said yes before I asked properly. It was rather glorious."
[11:14] * Snowshoe grabbed Blackout's ears and flopped them. "Somepony's getting marri~ied!" she explained to Jauni with a giggle. "And interesting. I've never seen 'em, but then again, I don't go to important stations."
[11:14] <Qindeo> Proverb bounces along, giggling.
[11:15] * Jauni blinks and flattens her ears, "Eh. congradulations."
[11:16] * Blackout chuckles with a content smile. "Shall we continue to banter or head inside? Be aware there are quite a few SR Scribes and Techies down here with us, so just keep the weapons holstered if you have them."
[11:16] * Snowshoe looks over at Jauni. "Proverb, give this mare a hug, she needs one."
[11:16] * Snowshoe glances at Defiance, strapped to her chest,a nd nodded. "Roger, Cap'n."
[11:17] * Qindeo has her SVD, which was longer than she was!
[11:17] <Qindeo> Proverb*]
[11:17] * Blackout snickers.
[11:17] <~Blackout> "Especially you, sergeant."
[11:18] <Qindeo> Proverb giggles and nodnods, and getting the best idea in the history of ideas, tackle-huggles both Jauni and Blackout at the same time with a loud SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE~!"
[11:19] * Jauni didn't come with any weapons, and doesn't really look dangerous at the moment, maybe unnerving, but not dangerous. "No hug-" She flails intensely and yells, trying to strike at Proverb.
[11:19] * Blackout flails wildly. "Whatisthismadness~!" he blurts as he falls over. The SR guards are probably bewildered by this, but it didn't seem agressive, so meh.
[11:19] * Snowshoe blinked at the reaction and blocked one of Jauni's strikes. "Oi!"
[11:21] * Blackout blinkblinks and moves to pin Jauni. "Hey! Woah! Chiefy, easy! Easy!"
[11:22] * Qindeo squeaks in surprise. Jauni's hoof easily sends her flying.
[11:22] <Qindeo> Proverb*]
[11:23] * Jauni scrambles aganst Blackout, trying to get unpinned. She whines and pants in a panic.
[11:23] * Snowshoe flares up her horn in a bright yellow, but Blackout seemed to have it. She wouldn't need to use her pinning magic. Instead, she went to check on Proverb. "Y'alright, Provy?"
[11:23] * Blackout presses harder on Jauni, and noooooow the SR come prancing over to lend a helping... steel hoof. Let's keep it at Jauni's chances are slim.
[11:24] <~Blackout> "Jauni! It's me, Blackout, relax! I'm not going to hurt you!"
[11:25] * Jauni pants and whines, "L-lemme go..."
[11:25] <Qindeo> Proverb is stunned more than anything, the ceramic plates in her armor having taken the hit. She scrambles to her hooves with a meep.
[11:26] * Snowshoe helped Proverb to her hooves, then nodded. "Took it like a champ," she commented, looking over at Jauni. "You going to go off again?"
[11:27] * Blackout nods to what Snowshoe said, "Only if you cool it. You said you wouldn't go off... although..." he looks back at Proverb.
[11:27] <~Blackout> "Check yourself sergeant." he says simply.
[11:27] * Jauni quivers, "Y-yeah... I-I'm okay... Just... w-wasn't ex-expected..."
[11:28] * Qindeo meeps and nods.
[11:28] <Qindeo> Proverb*]
[11:28] * Blackout leans off Jauni, as do the two steelies who had pitched in.
[11:28] * Snowshoe let out a sigh and looked over at the open door. "It begins..." she mumbled.
[11:29] * Jauni climbs to her hooves and steps away from others a ways.
[11:29] <Qindeo> Proverb stays as far away from Jauni as she can.
[11:29] * Blackout trots after Jauni. "Hey, it's alright, isn't your fault, Proverb made a bad decision."
[11:30] * Snowshoe shrugged. "Could blame me, I told her to," she said casually, looking around inside the door. "Onward?"
[11:30] * Jauni nods, "I-I'll be fine. L-lets just go."
[11:31] <Qindeo> "S-S-S-Sorry..."
[11:31] <Qindeo> Proverb flattens her ears.
[11:32] * Blackout offers his back to Jauni. "Yes, let's get moving."
[11:33] * Snowshoe lead the group into the door, then turned around after a moment when she remembered she had no idea what was beyond or where she was going.
[11:33] * Jauni shakes her head, "I'll w-walk." She follows behind Blackout.
[11:34] <Qindeo> Proverb trails them from a small distance.
[11:36] * Blackout sighs, outstanding. Great derail of progress. He turns and trots through the airlock door to the plaza beyond, which apparently had just been breached, as none of the actual lighting in the place was operational, instead temporary lamps had been places around the place run from a generator and supplemented by glowsticks and some flares. On the far wall are two cargo elevators and a set of stairs leading down into the depository. Two
[11:39] <~Blackout>  Two SR Scribes are looking through several carts filled with...yes!... glorious books!

[11:41] * Snowshoe looked around in wonder, noting the lamps that weren't operational. She made mental notes to come back eventually. She kept looking around, at the carts full of books. "Luna's freewheelin' plot..." she breathed.
[11:43] * Blackout chuckles looking around. "SR really have been going for a full image revamp after their buddies down south fucked up hardcore."

[11:45] <Qindeo> Provy sighs. "Y-Yeah..." She fidgets nervously with her hooves, casting glances at Jauni.
[11:47] <~Blackout> The two scribes look up from their work and nod lightly to the newcomers, before looking back down and returning to indexing all the books they find for later copying. Blackout nods back and trots onward to the dual cargo elevators, rigged up to another mobile generator.
[11:49] * Snowshoe looked over at Blackout, then at the elevator. She trotted along, still looking around. "So...we need like...cards or something?"
[11:49] <Qindeo> "I'll uhm... t-take the stairs... y'know... exercise and all that..."
[11:49] <~Blackout> "No, it's a regular old cargo elevator. This one doesn't come like that. And no you won't Proverb, you will ride this elevator or I will run you into the ground.
[11:49] * Jauni notices Proverb's fidgeting, but doesn't pay much mind to it and nods with Snowshoe's question, "Do we?"
[11:49] <~Blackout> "
[11:50] * Snowshoe laughed softly. "Not the elevator, dumbass. To take out books."
[11:51] <Qindeo> "Y-Yes sir..."
[11:51] <~Blackout> "Oh right, because there is clearly running electrictity to scan those cards of yours, and this facility is clearly up to 'modern' times, right dumbass?" he smirks lightly at Snowshoe.
[11:52] <Qindeo> Proverb reluctantly boards the elevator, keeping as far away from Jauni as possible in the enclosed space.
[11:52] * Snowshoe smirked back. "Would be if you'd told me about this place. Gleam like Luna's ass on a clear day," she said casually, boarding the elevator and putting herself between Proverb and Jauni.
[11:52] * Jauni looks at Proverb warily before staring at the floor and sitting.
[11:54] * Blackout steps into the elevator, leaning over to the panel and pressing a button, the railing for it groaning closed and the elevator rumbling downward. There are even a few book carts in the elevator too!
[11:54] * Jauni pulls a random book off the cart and looks at it.
[11:55] * Snowshoe does as well. "Roadside Picnic..." she shrugged and set it back down. "Fifty Sh-" she quickly set it back down and grabbed another. "The Canterlot Journal of Internal Medicine. Nice mix here."
[11:55] <~Blackout> The book is whatever Jauni's player dreams it to be, although within the realm of modest realism for a depository for the Ministry of Image.
[11:56] * Blackout nods lightly. "Most of these are non-seditious peices, wait till we hit the actual depository."
[11:56] <Qindeo> Proverb inches over to Jauni to apologize
[11:57] * Jauni reads the book, "The Elements of Harmony: A reference guide... Spera has a copy of this." She puts the book away.
[11:57] * Snowshoe smirked. "Non-seditious?" she asked casually. "Interesting. So we juist...take things?"
[11:57] <~Blackout> "You take what you want to read, AFTER you show it to a scribe so they can make a copy quickly."
[11:58] * Snowshoe nodded in understanding. "Aye, Cap'n. No stickhooves," she said. She would try her best, too. It was too good a place to ruin by stealing.
[11:58] <Snowshoe> stickyhooves*
[11:59] * Blackout plans to have Snowshoe checked before she leaves, this place he took very seriously.
[12:00] <~Blackout> The elevator soon slows to a hault, the railing barring the exit sliding open warily, revealing a foyer that is before what is likely a larger room, a much, much larger room.
[12:00] * Snowshoe takes a look around. "Bottom floor, mare's lingerie, sports wear," she said casually, trotting out of the elevator.
[12:01] * Jauni raises an eyebrow at Snowshoe before timidly following.
[12:01] <Qindeo> Proverb giggles a bit at that.
[12:02] * Blackout chuckles. Snowshoe may or may not notice a few figuers routing through a trolleycart laden with books, one probably looks very familiar.
[12:02] * You are now known as Proverb
[12:02] * Proverb suddenly Rev-spawns.
[12:02] * Snowshoe thinks she does, but is too floored by actual books to even notice at this point. She looked like a filly at Hearth's Warming.
[12:03] <~Blackout> The figure blinks and flails wildly, the cart toppling over with him. "Proverb! How!? Why?! WHAT!?!"
[12:03] <Proverb> "Revvy!"
[12:04] * Snowshoe blinks, trotting in circles to look for Proverb after she heard her cry out, then spotted her with. "Hey!" she trotted over with a warm smile, grabbing her coltfriend around the neck and kissing him lovingly. "Missed you, you ugly bastard," she teased.
[12:04] <~Blackout> One of the other figures with Reverie comments. "Hey major, is it commonplace for mares to materialize around and or on you?"
[12:04] * Jauni blinks, looking at the spontanious interaction. She's quite confused right now, and stays away.
[12:05] * Blackout stands with Jauni, chuckling at the sight and browsing a cart of books. "Weird huh?"
[12:05] <Jauni> "I don't... what... huh?"
[12:06] <~Blackout> Reverie snickers and flails again. However murring at the kiss, although his rather feral senses give hima  weird reading, he buries that for now.
[12:06] * Blackout chuckles.
[12:07] * Proverb huggles Reverie, squeeing.
[12:08] * Snowshoe smiled happily and looked over at Jauni and Blackout. "Jauni, Reverie. Reverie, mechmare. Technically starmetalmare, but it doesn't flow."
[12:08] <~Blackout> Reverie smiles up at Jauni. He's a massive stallion with ripped build, easy enough to remember. "Good afternoon."
[12:09] * Proverb is pertched atop Reverie's head. "Blacky's getting married!"
[12:09] <~Blackout> Reverie chuckles. "I know, it's all the rage in rumors lately, although I was in the loop." he climbs to his hooves, perhaps carrying both Snowshoe and Proverb.
[12:09] * Jauni just blinks, "Um... Afternoon." She's not quite sure what to do right now. The sudden increase of energy left her confused.
[12:10] * Blackout nudges Jauni. "Jeez, stick in the mud much?" he teases with a smile.
[12:10] * Jauni frowns at Blackout, "Not in the greatest of moods right now, in case you've forgotten."
[12:11] * Snowshoe looked over at Reverie and smiled happily. She's in her adventuring gear for once, the patched cloak and the black, hoofmade vest, with a certain revolver holstered. She's even wearing the necklace she usually has. "Seriously, good to see you again. Heard you were off doing some hero shit, not hanging out ina  library."
[12:11] * Proverb is pretty sure Jauni is never in a good mood.
[12:11] * Blackout nods to Jauni understandingly. "I brought you here to get away from it all, why not try for a little good mood?"
[12:12] <~Blackout> Reverie snickers softly. "Hero? Not in the least, weeks been shitty in the best light, even then... we'll talk about it later..."
[12:13] * Snowshoe nodded. "Gotcha. I got some time off," she offered, giving him another kiss and looking around. Books! So many books! "This is amazing. I have a new place to stay, I think."
[12:14] * Jauni sighs, "I know. But... Proverb? Her. Bad. Maybe once I get reading I'll be fine."
[12:16] <~Blackout> "I handled the situation Jauni... I made it clear she dropped the ball... it's up to you both to let it go." he says softly before getting the group back together. "Alrighty everyone, next room is the concorse, inside which are hundreds of thousands of text from many years before the war even started. Up until the world ended."
[12:17] * Snowshoe nodded. The thought of books that weren't things like Tumblers Today and Daring Do paperbacks filled her with glee, and also lots of unknown. Mostly glee.

[12:19] * Proverb slides off Reverie, feeling like she was going to interrupt something... or already had... she trots over to Blackout anyway.
[12:20] * Jauni stands and nods, "Let's go then."
[12:20] <~Blackout> Reverie chuckles. "Great place to explore. Glad the rangers offered to be the guardians of knowledge now, and not just sit on it. Can't wait till we have a sizeable number fo copies."
[12:22] * Blackout trots over to the door leading further inward, then turns around, looking deadly serious. "Just a warning, if any of you attempt to remove a book without my say-so or having it indexed by one of the scribes I will personally bury you. Clear?"
[12:22] * Jauni nods again.
[12:22] * Snowshoe nodded, trotting up to one of the shelves. "History of The Arcane, Volume I, by Arcana..." she mumbled, head tilted to read the spines. "Shouldn't be hard to make a printing press," she said before looking over at Blackout and nodding. "I know y'all don't usually trust me, but I promise." She didn't even have a way to hide 'em.
[12:23] * Proverb salutes. "Yessir!"
[12:24] * Blackout smiles and sighs. "Sorry for the paranoia, but I don't know how many copes of these exist anywhere else in the world. And I really want to start opening school soon for the foals, so I need these books. Hope you understand."
[12:24] <~Blackout> *copies
[12:25] * Snowshoe nodded. "Of course I do. I may be a near-illiterate Wasteland mare, but I still understand the use of books," she said sincerely, leaning against Reverie just 'cause.
[12:25] <~Blackout> Reverie nuzzles Snowshoe's neck, planning things about things.
[12:26] * Proverb is subconciously preparing very loud squees.
[12:26] * Blackout nods lightly. "Well then, here we go..." he turns and presses a lever, the large door starting open behind him with a metallic grinding sound, at least the old thing still worked...
[12:26] <~Blackout> -Pausing here-
