  35. <Ember_Glow> I look around me. How many paths are there that I can take?
  36. <vampsquirrel> There are two, one to your right and one to your left.
  37. <Ember_Glow> Picking randomly, I start along the left path, using Dash to mave faster
  38. <vampsquirrel> As you follow it the left path makes a sharp right turn before depositing you at another intersection. There are three paths to choose from, one to your right that you can see rapidly turns again, one to your left that seems to go parallel with the way you came, and the one you followed on your way here.
  39. <Ember_Glow> Guessing again, I move along the right path
  40. <Ember_Glow> ((write more essays don't you vamp lol))
  41. <vampsquirrel> You follow the right path, it shortly turns left and then left again to form a u shape, after you follow it for some more it does the same thing but to the right, at this point you see a large box of soil in front of you as well as three more paths, although you've reached the end of your move action so you cannot follow them. The three paths are,
  42. <vampsquirrel> one exiting the square area forward and to the left, one exiting to the left but parallel with the way you came, and the one you took to reach this area.

  49. <vampsquirrel> The both of you hear a loud roaring noise from somewhere within the hedge maze, it appears you are not alone.
  50. <vampsquirrel> Walking down the path you see a way open to the left in the hedges 20 feet forwards, and the path itself turn right 10 feet past that.

  52. <Hana_Kurosawa> Anything different at the end of my move action?
  53. <vampsquirrel> The path you are on begins doing a similar motion to Ember's, making two sharp right turns so it is parallel with itself, and then two left turns. Your move action ends as it begins making a second series of right turns.

  60. <vampsquirrel> You don't sense anything too nearby, although this time, listening through the distorted sound around you, you can barely make out the sound of footsteps to your left, as well as the sound of something enormous moving slowly somewhere far away forward and to the right.

  63. <Ember_Glow> I look at the box of soil, trying to determine its purpose.

  67. <vampsquirrel> Looking at the soil, it's obviously meant to grow something, but you can look deeper into its meaning. Peering close you can see what look like tiny little pairs of scissorblades growing up from the ground, slowly snapping back and forth. As you look at them, they seem to get a little bigger before your eyes.
  68. <Ember_Glow> My eyes widen, and I skirt around the box, quickly moving through the forward pathway
  69. <vampsquirrel> You walk down this new pathway, and after a short pair of rights find yourself at a long hallway. Roll perception.

  72. <vampsquirrel> You look around this pathway and see a set of footprints beginning roughly in the middle. Could it be this is where Hana started? Just as you're about to settle on yes, you look around the hedges more closely and realize, this is the hallway you came from. You've gone in a circle.

  75. <Hana_Kurosawa> I dash back the direction I came and head down the next path instead.
  76. <vampsquirrel> The roar echoes out once more and you both hear a great mass shifting somewhere in the maze.
  77. <vampsquirrel> You go down the other path and quickly find yourself at another fork, one path leads directly to your left and the other is to your right.
  78. * Ember_Glow quickly jerks hand away from face
  79. <Hana_Kurosawa> I'll go left
  80. <vampsquirrel> You go down the left pathway, it twists left and then a pair of rights quickly followed by another left. As you round the final left you see it. 30 feet down the pathway is an enormous worm, its mouth slowly opening and closing as it slowly moves forward. It's bright green and covered in spikes, and slowly moves forward its girth so large it takes

  87. <Ember_Glow> I turn around, and dash towards the intersection with the box, passing it and going into the unexplored pathway
  88. <vampsquirrel> Down the unexplored pathway is a pair of lefts, followed by a pair of rights, leading you to another split between left and right. Roll perception.

  92. <Ember_Glow> I look between the two, before deciding to go to the left path.
  93. <vampsquirrel> Following the left path, you see that it quickly turns right, and then right again, followed by a third right. As you complete the third in the series of rights which effectively made a left, you see a way through the hedge open to your right as well as the hallway turning left ahead of you.

  100. <vampsquirrel> The enormous worm continues forward slowly, closing 20 feet between itself and hana, before roaring for some reason. It seems to have been miffed by something, but that doesn't really matter because it's a giant worm and is slowly coming to probably eat you.

  103. <vampsquirrel> Taking the other path, you come to a surprisingly open space, apart from a large rectangular box filled with dirt. Inside it are a large amount of black scissorblades snipping rapidly in anticipation, they appear to be almost spilling out of the box. There are three paths out of this area, the one you came from, a path to your left that requires mo
  104. <vampsquirrel> ving past the scissor box and a path directly across the room from where you entered.

  107. <vampsquirrel> You pass the box and are about to turn left, when you see that it is in fact a dead end.

  110. <vampsquirrel> A wise choice, your move action lasts until you are almost out of the room leaving you at the very edge of the exit.

  112. <vampsquirrel> As you watch the scissor blades begin spilling out of the box, showing that they are attached to roots which they use to plant themselves in the ground around the box.
  113. <vampsquirrel> They slowly begin to spread out into the surrounding area, growing continuously.

  117. <vampsquirrel> It's not a hole so much as another pathway branching off the one you are currently on, but you peek around it anyways. You see a large empty room and a pathway exiting the room to your left.

  119. <vampsquirrel> Following the pathway exiting the room you shortly come to yet another fork in the maze, once more to your left and right. To the left you can see the pathway make a right to begin heading in the same direction you just were, and to your right you can see a pathway that makes another right.

  154. <vampsquirrel> You leave the ever expanding box of scissors, following the pathway as it makes a pair of rights, a pair of lefts, and two more rights, after which you come to another fork to your left and right. Roll perception.

  163. <vampsquirrel> You move down the right path, and follow it as it goes left and then left again. As you round the left turn you see the scissors beginning to spill into this pathway from around a right turn ahead of you.

  170. <Ember_Glow> Feeling dejavu, I take the right path this time
  171. <vampsquirrel> Following the right path you walk a short distance and take another right into a long hallway, as you are walking down the pathway you notice the footprints you had been walking with stop midway through.
  172. <Ember_Glow> Not remembering doing so, I raise an eyebrow, and look around to see if I missed anything that might have caused this set of footprints to turn back.

  200. <vampsquirrel> The footsteps actually go back the way you came, as well as seemingly turning around some distance ahead of you.

  203. <Ember_Glow> I start following the footsteps as best as I can
  204. <vampsquirrel> The footsteps go back the way you came, are you sure you want to follow them?
  205. <Ember_Glow> Yes. And just in case. I raise my weapon up in a parry as I do so.
  206. <vampsquirrel> You follow the steps back the way you came, and, after a left, reach another intersection, the footsteps are all trodden over, so you're not sure which way they went.

  230. <vampsquirrel> You continue forwards until you see an exit from your current path to your left side, farther forwards you can see that your current path turns right.

  232. <Ember_Glow> Everything in this darned hedge maze feels familiar
  233. <Ember_Glow> I keep walking forwards
  234. <vampsquirrel> As the path turns left you once again find yourself face to side with the worm.

  237. <Ember_Glow> I backtrack and take the left path this time
  238. <vampsquirrel> You come to an open square area with an exit to your right.
  239. <Ember_Glow> I go on to peek from the side of the exit
  240. <vampsquirrel> It's a t-intersection, the path to your left turns right shortly and the path to your right turns left equally quickly.
  241. <Ember_Glow> How much move action do I have left?
  242. <vampsquirrel> You have about 5 feet, which isn't enough to do anything besides reach one of the turns.
  243. <Ember_Glow> I move to the middle of the t-intersection, back against the hedge, staff raised in a parry position
  244. <vampsquirrel> The crashing of the worm echoes throughout the hedge maze, as well as the distant sound of scissors.
