Narrator: The moon, the glittering orb that illuminates the night sky. It's a little known fact that the light of the moon prevents the universe from falling to darkness. This monumental task is held by the Princess of the Moon, Usagi, alongside her faithful Moon Guardians. The moon's protective light is granted by the Moon Stones, eight powerful stones spread across the universe to help keep them safe. The Moon Guardians fight to protect them against nefarious forces that seek to destroy them. However, on this day, a young Moon Guardian's journey to greatness begins...

Mochi: Mmmnh...

Don: Mochi!

Mochi: Mnh... Zzzzz...

Don: Mochi, wake up!

Mochi: Just five more... hours...

Don: Oh for crying out- Mochi, we're gonna miss your dang inauguration!

Narrator: The young Mochi is a Moon Guardian in training, and today is the day it becomes official. Alongside her friend Tsuki, the two will be allowed to traverse the cosmos and protect those in need from darkness. Her oddly shaped friend, Don, is her special guardian weapon, the two are inseparable through a magic bonding.

Mochi: Mnh-!? Ah, I forgot that was today! We need to get there quick, or else Tsuki's gonna make fun of me even more!

Don: I'm shocked you even passed. Oh well, at least the trek there will get you ready for it.

Mochi: Ah, finally at the palace! Gosh, this is so exciting, I've worked my whole life towards this... hard to believe it's finally happening!

Don: I'm proud of ya', Mochi, but you still gotta go through the final test!

Mochi: Oh... right.

Princess Usagi: Ah, dear Mochi, we were afraid you wouldn't arrive in time.

Tsuki: You better be! If I lost my chance at becoming a guardian because of you doing something stupid-

Princess Usagi: My dears, please no fighting! This is a momentous occasion, both for you two and for the universe.

Princess Usagi: Moon Guardians! Reclaim the Moon Stone before he gets away!

Moon Guardians: Yes, Princess!

SFX: *Blades clashing*

Moon Guardian: Ahh!

General Gesshoku: Did you really think these pitiful excuses for guardians could stop your strongest? How foolish.

SFX: Shine!
