The guardian brought us to a central chamber and research area of what is called Analyst 7. This creature is apparently the Chosen of Acanthus and does research here into many numerous things. It seems to be a being of pure knowledge, and nearly dismissed us outright, other than the fact we too were seeking knowledge, though maybe not in quite as pure a form as it does. It offered to grant us some insight into questions we had, and also gave us a task of clearing out the remaining creatures in the lower halls where the energy pools coalesce. In return for clearing the creatures out, we would have access to the energy pools and the items that manifest in them! That staff is as good as mine! I am so excited! We only have to go through a bunch of magic eating creatures to get to it…. Ugh.

It whisked us away to the entrance of the dungeon again with magic, and we started for the third time into the dungeon. We agreed to clear out then first level of the dungeon, even though it was not specified by Analyst 7 to do so. It was more that the corpse crawlers were too much of a possible hazard to ourselves, and of course to the townsfolk, to leave thriving.

I must say, I impressed even myself with our teamwork and tactics this time around. Normally we all just do our thing and don’t work together, but myself, Brook and Beans were able to hold the massive wave of corpse crawlers at bay and stuck in bunches that we could pick off with spells. None of us even got close to being injured. I hope this is a sign of things to come in the future, the teamwork improving that is. It’s nice to be part of a team, and not just the fire slinger of the group.

Amongst the remains of the crypt we came across a frightened pseudo-dragon. It seemed particularly afraid of myself and Liliana, but Brook and Beans were able to coax it out. We’re going to go back to rest before continuing down into the energy pools, we’ll try to get some care for the creature and see if we can communicate with it and find out why it was there.
