- Valkyria Chronicles II any%:
- Definition:
- Finish the main game from January to December. Do 3-4 missions per month to unlock the story mission(s) in order to advance to the next month. 55 missions in total. 1 mission gets repeated once early in the game for a weapon drop.
- Timing:
- From file start to landing the final shot on Baldren.
- Why just any%?
- Doing the bare minimum in Valkyria Chronicles II will take a while in casual play, and the rest of the game can take a very long time to finish, especially if you want to go for all medals. Doing all the missions per month even for the first cycle can take hours. This does not count the paid missions you can get from the shop, nor the classmate missions. This should give you a good idea of why any% is the only category I run VC2.
- Where do most of the runs get killed?
- 1) The stupid grenade launch in Entrance Exam (January)
- 2) Not getting enough Steel materials for the Constructor Arm (March) and the Light Tank B (April)
- 3) Not getting the Cptd AA Gtlg A1 drop from Defensive Exam (March) on repeating the mission once
- Cptd whaaaaaaa?
- Captured AA Gatling A1, a special enemy tank turret. Incredibly powerful, can be obtained early on, has insane accuracy, anti-tank shells with an attack power of 1200, and a stupidly powerful 30-clip machine gun. It only has a weight of 2, just enough to fit on a Light Tank B. It saves a lot of tank shots over the course of the entire run and is way more consistent than any of the turrets you can buy from R&D. Probably the biggest game-changer in VC2 once it was discovered.
