  1. Cruxite Artifacts Guide
  2.
  3. So it’s been said by Hussie that each artifact for the Beta kids was a symbol of departure, probably from childhood. John biting into the Apple of Eve, Dave hatching the Egg, Rose christening with the Wine Bottle and Jade breaking the Bec Pinata, a traditional birthday celebration. But I noticed each of these Objects, and more importantly the way they interacted with them, could be associated with their Aspect in some way.
  4.
  5. So I did a little thinking about the Cruxite Artifacts in Homestuck and what purpose they serve, what do they mean, how to tell what kind of object you’d most likely have and that kind of thing, and I came up with this
  6.
  7. John, like Eve in biblical stories, Bit into the Apple of Eden, and then they experience the Freedom and Free will to leave the garden. Dave had to experience Patience and Wait for the incubation period to End and the shell of the egg to break. Rose’s Bottle contained Wine/Liquid, a symbol of Void, and by breaking the bottle containing it she let go of the Void within and allowed Light to enter (Rose though I think was more indicative of a special case since she inverted to a Witch of Void/Grimdark) and lastly Jade was blindfolded and had to shoot the small Pinata with her gun, she had to be Quick and Precise, she couldn’t afford to miss her shot.
  8.
  9. So I’m thinking not only do the Entry Items/Cruxite Artifacts symbolize departure, they also give the players a first taste and lesson of the messages behind their Aspect. Like important last minute advice given to them before they finally start their adventure. And so I’ve made a little chart of each Aspect, what kind of Object they’d mostly likely create, how they’re meant to interact with that Object and what symbolic Aspect lesson or advice that it’s meant to impart to the players.
  10.
  11. I organized them like this:
  12.
  13. Aspect: Object = Random Object Examples. Interaction and Lesson To Be Learned/Advice Given.
  14.
  15. TIME: Young Object = Egg, Candle, Music, Baby Animal, Plant. Wait For It To Mature or Finish. The Importance of Patience and Making Careful Decisions. There are Harsh Consequences When You Make Hasty Decisions.
  16.
  17. SPACE: Random Object = Something Hard to Use or Figure Out, Pinata, Music Box, Puzzle of Some Kind. Use It The Right Way Quickly. The Importance of Precision in Randomness. Make Your Choices and Don’t Be Overwhelmed By Everything Happening Around You. You Can and Must Adapt.
  18.
  19. VOID: Novel Object = Something Bright, Shiny and Clean, Unread Book, Wealth or Jewelry, Something that looks Valuable. Let It Sink Into The Water or Void. You Don’t Need to Know What Everything Is Or Means. Sometimes Things Are Simply Meaningless and Don’t Really Matter Anymore.
  20.
  21. LIGHT: Dirty Object = Rusty Key, Muddy Coins, Dusty Books.Take The Time To Polish and Wash it Clean. Everything and Everyone is Special or Important in Their Own Unique Way. Even if Sometimes Its Not Obvious at First.
  22.
  23. DOOM: Old Object = Broken Machine, Burning Old Plant/Animals, Decaying Bones, Ticking Bomb. Watch It Burn/Decay/Stop and Do Nothing. Nothing In This World Can Last Forever. Learn To Let Go Of What And Who Must Eventually Die Or Be Destroyed.

  25. LIFE: New Object = Plant Seed, Baby Animal, Cooking or Baking Raw Food. Plant It and/or Make it Grow Anyway You Can. You Have the Power to Overcome Your Problems Inside You. If You Have The Strength, Nothing Can Stand In Your Way Forever.
  26.
  27. RAGE: Seemingly Scary Object = A Scary Person, Frightening Toy or Doll, A Trap or Sudden Weapons. Destroy It Before It Hurts You. Don’t Think About It, Just Act. Your Natural Instincts Will Help You Survive. Fear of Dangerous Things is Necessary and Okay.
  28.
  29. HOPE: Seemingly Harmless Object = Something That Looks Mundane or Cute and Cuddly. Seemingly Fluffy, Soft or Warm Objects. Do Nothing And Trust That What Needs To Happen, Will. Trust Yourself and Others. Have Faith That Everything Will Turn Out Fine In The End and It Will.
  30.
  31. HEART: Favorite Object = Secret Journal, Guilty Pleasure, Weird Hobby or Interest. Interact With It How You Normally Would. Don’t Be Ashamed Of Yourself, Your Desires Or The Things That You Like. To Thine Own Self Be True.
  32.
  33. MIND: Many Different Objects = A Bunch of Favorite or Personal Objects, But Only One Actually Useful Object. Discard All But The Most Practical and Useful Things. Don’t Let Wayward Emotions Cloud Your Mind. Staying Calm Will Help You Make The Correct Choices.
