Americans are so batshit insane now that they scream increasing the US debt makes sense when interest rates are low, but Americans are completely unable to understand that the government doesn't make a profit.

A company that borrows money at 3% to expand is smart if they have a 10% profit margin.
Money stolen from taxpayers is lost when the government pays for government worker wages, Christmas parties, food stamps, cars, bombs, and Afghan soldier uniforms.
