- Hi everyone! This is a forum post to publically announce poolingcore, a mappooling community for tournament staff. Currently, it's being managed by [profile=9119507]Dada[/profile], [profile=5136821]Rojo[/profile], and [profile=6701656]myself[/profile], with lots of help from many other active staff members in the mappooling scene!
- The main focus of the project is dedicated towards the 1-10K osu!std mappooling scene, but we're looking towards helping other rank ranges and gamemodes in the future. Here's a quick TL;DR of some of the current functions we have.
- [list]
- [*]A discussion area for mappoolers to give and receive feedback on their mappools
- [*]Mappooling resource hub with links to guides, collections, and mappooling tools
- [*]A space for mappoolers to find tournaments to pool for, meet likeminded people in the scene, and grow their connections
- [*]A place for tournament hosts to find mappoolers, testplayers, and custom mappers
- [*]Mappooling contests, puzzles, and other pooling-related games 👍👍

- [notice][heading][color=#FF6961]Mappooling Discussion[/color][/heading]
- poolingcore's primary function is to be a common space for mappoolers to discuss and talk about anything related to mappooling. Mappoolers can receive constructive feedback on their mappooling, ask for help with regards to skillset balancing and definitions, and discuss unique mappooling concepts. It's also here to give rookie and veteran mappoolers a common space to discuss anything mappooling related and to connect with others in the scene.
- [heading][color=#FF6961]Mappooling Resource Hub[/color][/heading]
- Like other osu! resource repositories, poolingcore has a list of dedicated resources to help mappoolers. Our goal is to provide a updated list of valuable tools for the community including mappooling guides, collections, and applications that can help increase a mappooler's library and overall mappooling knowledge. Developing new applications and databases is part of this goal to ensure that new-age mappoolers have all the resources they need at their disposal.
- [heading][color=#FF6961]Finding Mappooling Staff for Hosts[/color][/heading]
- poolingcore also serves as a method for mappoolers to find opportunities in new tournaments, and for hosts to find promising mappoolers to deliver the best mappools possible. The main goal is to help mappoolers build up their experience and connections to ultimately find larger chances and spots in major projects, while also ensuring that tournaments have a healthy amount of quality staff. Testplayers and mappers can also find tournaments to playtest and map for as well!
- Currently, we are running a verify system in which mappooling staff must have badged tournament staffing experience (in order to ensure a base level of quality). Roles like Verified Pooler, Host, Mapper, and Playtester can all be found with their individual requirements in the server's #roles channel.
- [heading][color=#FF6961]Contests, Puzzles, and Minigames[/color][/heading]
- Mappooling is meant to be fun, and we'll be looking towards having games and activities that allow mappoolers to work on their craft without being tied to a tournament or any heavy restraints.
- As this forum post comes out, we're actually running our first mappooling contest in the server! Mappoolers can submit their own pool under the specific theme and see how it stands up with the other competition. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to type in the #mappoolfeedback channel like always or message anyone involved! Thanks for reading and happy pooling :steamhappy:[/notice]
