  1. This puzzle really seems to have stumped you guys! I might have been just a touch too vague, but I think it was quite fun, so let's get into it!

  3. ======Org Hint=====

  9. Answer: tree train
  10. So this hint really seemed to throw most of you for a loop. It's a bit of a twist on an old idea. First it's a Base64 encoding if you don't know what that is start by reading this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base64. Of course if you decrypt it you get

  13.
  14. Now at first this seems like gibberish, but closer analysis shows that it must be a cipher of some kind. There are a number of ways to attack this, but the simplest for most would be to do a simple frequency analysis and then start working to decode. Of course if you're clever you might have recognized this as an ATBASH cipher. Decode it and you get
  15.
  16. so you thought you were clever hmm? i don't think so batboobs. let's see if you can figure this out. if you get lost you can always just git lost and then scream hubbahubba
  17.
  18. DRAT! Another hint. So this hint while not as easy to decipher as past ones (no capitals to make it easy), you are for sure being directed to look for something. Notice how git is misspelled? Well head on over to gist.github.com (git instead of get, hubba hubba = hub). But what do you search for? Well lucky for you you have two sets of unique strings to search with. Try searching for one of the ciphers and you'll find https://gist.github.com/MrE-Nigma/7de9994f50e71b7ff435da40b7d86ff9 which has the title " EHT REWSNA SI eert niart ". So where's the answer? Well look in a mirror (no really) and you'll see that translates to " THE ANSWER IS tree train". Thus the answer is tree train.

  20. ======Hint 1=====
  21. One has to love Christmas mysteries, the problem is simply solving them. If you were pretty clever you'd probably be able to find the culprit in one of my favorite web pages. It might even be useful in the future!
  22.

  24.
  25. Answer: red herring
  26. So this hint is all about making you look for what's in front of you. The hint starts by stating solving mysteries is a problem and you need to look for my favorite culprit. SO if you head on over to the webpage you'll get a fantastic article on one Sir Francis Bacon. I did really enjoy seeing that you guys liked this article and learned from it, but all you need to do to do is read the article and look for the culprit, as such there can only be one clear culprit, none other than RED HERRING.

  31. Answer: olive the other reindeer
  32. THis hint is a multipart hint designed to make you really think. You can right away tell something is up with the capitalization. But it's not just that. You need to know what you're looking for. So the first sentence "I've given you all you need to solve this puzzle" very clearly I"m saying you have all the information needed to crack this cipher and that the hint itself is contained inside this cipher. Next you'll see mutliple references to me beating you and the past. This is telling you you'll need to look at past hints in the challenge. But thus far you have had multiple ciphers and multiple endpoints, but think about it, wasn't there a central focus on your last hint? Oh yeah there was, it was none other than Sir Francis Bacon! And wouldn't you know it he has a cipher named after him! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon%27s_cipher. Of course many of you are saying, Eddie there's no a's and b's here! Well obviously! My puzzles aren't that easy, instead of a's and b's I use capitals and lowercase. Replace them appropriately and you'll get

  42. or
  43. perhaps the riddle you should be asking is what makes James Bond's cocktail a reindeer?
  44.
  45. The answer being of course an olive, olive the other reindeer.

  47. ======Hint 3=====
  48. Pic related loves Christmas, but he won't call it that, but then again he always makes it about him.
  49.

  51.
  52. Answer; boxing day
  53. This is a good old fashion riddle accompanied by a picture puzzle. If you know anything about mascots you know that the UK Mascot is none other than a wildcat. If you know anything about wildcats you know there's a very famous DC hero named Wildcat. If you know anything about Wildcat you know he's a boxer. But how does that help you? Well the riddle states that the person the picture depicts loves Christmas, but won't call it that. Well what would a boxer call his Christmas? None other than boxing day! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_Day
  54.
  55. ======Final Hint=====
  56. GRRRR YOU CHEATED!! THERE'S NO WAY YOU COULD HAVE BEATEN ME! WELL FINE RUN OVER TO THE THREAD AND SAY "Dear Santa, what I really want is for Eddie to have all the money in the world, also I eat ass" AND DON'T FORGET TO POST YOUR LIST!
