- Guess I'll make this announcement while I'm thinking about it, but streaming speed runs will be on hiatus for an unknown amount of time unless I meet one of the prerequisites below:
- - USB Ports somehow gets fixed
- - New Laptop or Computer
- - New Capture Card that has an external power cord like my HD PVR + HDMI Port?
- - Races
- TDLR Below if you don't want to read all of this.
- Reasons why runs will be on hiatus is because I've gotten to the point where I'm sick of constantly relying and worrying about streams dropping while I'm streaming directly from PS4, which makes it to where I cannot restream with splits if stream drops once. I also can't use the PS4's elapsed timer as well due to it being inaccurate to Livesplit + timer resetting when the stream is restarted.
- Another problem that persists from streaming directly from PS4 now for some reason are "skips". Basically the VOD has little random "skips" in it when directly from PS4, which makes restreaming new PB runs inaccurate. Example: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/135476982?t=2m11s
- I have tried everything I could think of to fix my USB Ports to the point where I restored my Laptop. I also took my Laptop to Best Buy and it will take around $400 CAD to send it in to get it fixed, which I feel like it's overpriced and might as well save up for a new Laptop or Computer at that point.
- When I bought my AverMedia LGP Lite 2 months ago for about $116 CAD, my HD PVR was about to die out. I was hoping it would work perfectly fine like my HD PVR did, but was very disappointed to find out I could not use it at all once I got it and felt like I wasted $116 CAD. So because of this, I'm kinda leaning towards keeping my AverMedia LGP Lite in case I get a new Computer or Laptop that I can use it with or just selling it to someone who needs one so I could potentially look into a new external capture card.
- Races will be the only exception of doing a run on stream due to just having fun and talking to people I know if I am able to unless stream constantly dies and I have to end + restart the stream 10+ times.
- Another thing I want to say is that I'm 95% sure I won't be able to make it out to RPG Limit Break this year due to lack of money, so I will most likely talk to Puwexil on the 1st of May to remove me from the Attendance and Runners List if I still don't have enough money by then. I thought I would be able to go back when game submissions were up, but sadly no.
- Sorry for anyone looking forward to future runs on stream, gonna unfortunately stick to casual streams for a while. :/
- TDLR: Streaming speed runs will be on hiatus for an unknown time until either USB Ports are fixed, new computer/laptop, maybe new external capture card, or races, and most likely will not be able to make it to RPG Limit Break this year. :(
