  1. Have you ever had a meal so much that you feel like you've run out of taste value?
  2. Some people choose to come up with additional challenges, such as cooking a meal as fast as possible, cooking as many servings as possible, or spreading a pancake mix game to its size limit.
  3. I have no spare plates, I don't have any large pans, I have one pan and a small house.
  4. So; how fast can someone cook it?
  5.
  6. My name is Jodenstone, and this is my speedrun of Cooking some Pancakes in ___ minutes and ___ seconds.
  7.
  8. In 2006, I started cooking for lunch, a meal where people interested in cooking can create and test recipes.
  9. My single favourite recipe with my budget belonged to Pancakes.
  10. My meals mainly revolved around experimenting with the recipe.
  11. In fact, very few pancakes were actually completed back then.
  12. It felt more like I was doing science than anything else.
  13. This was spurred on by a chef going by the name of Cookzooie, posting recipes of some clever flips that weren't thought to be possible before.
  14. These flips allowed us to get certain flavourings mixed into the pancake sooner than intended.
  15. We were able to do things such as mix strawberry jam early, and add syrup right after the flip.
  16. A large amount of pan-scraping skips, out of pan tricks, and shenanigans were found in this rich period of discovery, the most significant of which was a way of writing words into the pancake that represented people's names.
  17. This led to obtaining the knife and fork early, which is the trigger in the dining room (or at least in mine!) for eating time, ultimately leading to the completion of the meal without any adult portions.
  18. In March 2008, through a group effort and a lot of man hours, the pancake mixing was finally skipped, using a tricky automatic pancake mixer, meaning we could combine this with the pancake manipulation trick, and cook the pancake cleaning zero plates.
  19. The recipe would grab a bottle of milk from the store, go immediately to the adult's portions, then go around the kitchen, changing the pancake mix, until I had the ingredients, at which point I could cook the pancake and finish the recipe.
  20. There were a surprising number of recipe variations involving the method used to begin the pancake manipulation trick.
  21. The eating was a true bottleneck.
  22. I could access the dining room, but eating was unable to be completed without an empty stomach.
  23. Without a way to make smaller portions or eat quicker, this was about as fast as I could make the recipe.
  24. Things were settling down.
  25. However, in February 2012, a user named CheftianF23 found a way to flip many of the post-cooking pan-scraping.
  26. If performed in a hot pan, it not only skipped the pan-scraping, but launched the pancake into the ceiling.
  27. The entire cooking community was astonished, and the pancake scientists went to work.
  28. What we found broke the pan. Upon the completion of the mixing, egg cracking, or cooking under certain circumstances, we were able to make pancakes into many unusual styles, such as a raw mixture, instantly burn it, and a cooked pancake.
  29. Amongst all the craziness that was going on, a clever cook by the name of hotdog was pouring syrup over the grills internal wiring and had a startling realization. The wire for maximum heat in the internal wiring was adjacent to part of the frying ring. Nobody had thought of this before, because the pan that blocks the way made it not obvious there was another option there. Wokfolder tested hotdog's theory and it worked. For the first time in history, Pancakes could be completed in children portions alone. This was faster than cooking.
  30. There was an explosion of activity. Many people cooked many pancakes, trying to optimize this new recipe, including myself. The cooking you are watching is my greatest work yet, and is the result of another two years of optimization.
  31. This run was done on the official Chinese release of the pan (a wok). I chose this pan because of larger surface area and less stick.
