  1. General Battle Frontier FAQ:
  2.
  3. The Battle Frontier is a post game place, with 7 different facilities, all with different gimmicks, where you can battle. In all 7 of these facilities you can Battle your way through "Sets". A set is usually compromised of 7 events, usually a Battle but in some cases a floor or a room. If you clear all 7 events, you complete the set, and can move onto the next set. The exception to this is the Dome, which only has 4 battles per set.
  4.
  5. After clearing enough sets, you can fight the Frontier Brain of that Facilty. The amount of sets required for this to happen varies based on the facilities. Win against the Frontier Brain and you get a Silver Symbol for that facility. Clear enough sets and you get to fight a rematch with the Frontier Brain, win the rematch and you get a Gold Symbol. It is all of these that I am looking for. The amount of sets you need to win are:
  6. Factory: Silver: 3 | Gold: 6
  7. Pyramid: Silver: 3 | Gold: 10
  8. Dome: Silver: 5 | Gold: 10
  9. Pike: Silver: 2 | Gold: 10
  10. Tower: Silver: 5 | Gold: 10
  11. Arena: Silver: 4 | Gold: 8
  12. Palace: Silver: 3 | Gold: 6
  13.
  14. As you progress through each set, the battles get more difficult. Trainers are broken up into categories, as are Pokemon. There are 8 categories, so for simplistic sake, let's call them category A-H.
  15. Trainers in Category A can only have Pokemon from Category A. Trainers is Category B can have up to Category B, but some can also carry A. There are more specific lists of which Pokemon they can carry, but you don't really need to worry about that. This trend continues, Category C mostly carry C, etc etc, until Category H, where they carry anything from B up and mix it up a lot (They can also call 1 Pokemon from Category A, Shedinja)
  16.
  17. As you go up in Categories, the Pokemon get stronger, and get better moves and items. In Category A, you'll see Pokemon like Aron, and Mudkip. In Category B, you'll see Lairon, and Marshtomp. Category C is also Lairon/Marshtomp, but with Earthquake instead of shitty moves. Category D onwards you'll see Aggron and Swampert, with progressively better moves as they go along. At category H, legendaries enter the fray, along with Pseudo legendaries from previous generations (Salamence/Metagross enter at D onwards, but Dragonite/Tyranitar don't appear until H)
  18.
  19. It isn't just the Pokemon that change though. The IVs of these Pokemon also increase, as the Trainer level increase. The IVs are all the same across the board for any given Pokemon. A Trainer from category A has IVs of all 3s on all their Pokemon. Category B trainers have all 6s, C's have all 9s, D's have all 12s, E's have all 15s, F's have all 18s, G's have all 21s, and H's have all 31s.
  20.
  21. However, these trainers don't just show up consistently by every set. After each set completes, there is an increase. The final trainer/floor of each set also has an increase. This is how is works:
  22.
  23. Set 1: 1-6: Cat A | 7: Cat B
  24. Set 2: 1-6: 50/50 Cat A/B | 7: Cat C
  25. Set 3: 1-6: 50/50 Cat B/C | 7: Cat D
  26. Set 4: 1-6: 50/50 Cat C/D | 7: Cat E
  27. Set 5: 1-6: 50/50 Cat D/E | 7: Cat F
  28. Set 6: 1-6: 50/50 Cat E/F | 7: Cat G
  29. Set 7: 1-6: 50/50 Cat F/G | 7: Cat H
  30. Set 8+: 1-6: 20/80 Cat G/H | 7: Cat H
  31.
  32. In the Battle Pyramid, '7' is all trainers on the 7th Floor. In the Battle Pike, the upgrade is for the trainers that are prefaced with "A strong trainer", that you get healed after you defeat. In the Battle Factory, the 7th trainer does not get an increase in Pokemon, only IVs.
  33.
  34. The Battle Dome is quite a bit different. It's tournament setting actually allows trainers from quite a few categories in on any given set, and they randomness of the tournament means you might not even fight the strongest trainer given to you in that set anyway. But they still increase at a very similar pace.
