                            <p>At first meeting, Lucius and Drayton couldn't stand each other. Drayton assumed that Lucius had some connections to Colress- which is true, just not in the way he thought. Lucius was a target for Drayton's riffing for about half a year before the two realized that they were beefing over something completely irrelevant, considering that Lucius hated his father. As time went on, the two realized they actually had quite a lot in common, eventually realizing they both thought about the other as a <i>bit</i> more than just a friend.</p>

That was what Colress wanted him to call him out of mere convenience, but their relationship was always more of a scientist and his proudest creation. Colress loves Lucius, just in an extremely roundabout way that barely sees Lucius as a person. He's more of a lab rat to Colress, and he has no interest in attempting to repair their relationship.<p>

Of course, he told himself it was simply a task he was given and that he had no personal stake in it- but he actually cared for Lucius. Not as a project, but as a real living, breathing child. Lucius got his only real taste of something that resembled paternal love during those two years, only for it to  be ripped away after Plasma's defeat...<p>
