  1. You...never expected this. Fighting crazed madman? Yeah. Corrupt corporate executives? Of course. Weird monsters? Par for the course. But never did you think in all of your life that you'd be fighting...a literal breathing god.
  2.
  3. "Come now servant of Xumir. Let us enjoy ourselves.
  4.
  5. In a surprising display of speed Lioxal descends upon you from up high. You just barely block her attack, still being knocked back somewhat by the hit.
  6.
  7. "Nice reflexes." She says calmly
  8.
  9. The two of you exchange more blows, you just barely keeping up with Lioxal and her not even appeared to be winded from the attacks. And *this* is supposed to be when she's 'weakened'? You can't even begin to imagine when she's at full power.
  10.
  11. "Tired already servant of Xumir?" I thought the god of justice was meant to be powerful, if this is the best his thrall can muster, then I'm an completely unimpressed."
  12.
  13. You growl, you'll be sure to show her the true power of Justice! You've come so far now that you can't fail now! You have to win, so you and your ladies can go home together!
  14.
  15. You are Red Meteor...
  16.
  17. And this is the Final Battle!
  18.
  19. >Activate Gold Star
  20. >Nah, go for the usual d100+15
  21.
  22. >Activate Gold Star
  23.
  24. There's no holding back against this woman, if you don't pull out all the stops, then you'll likely not be leaving here alive. She makes a move towards you again, blade in hand, but just as she's getting closer you transform again.
  25.
  26. "Gold Star, Realize!" you shout, the proceeding shockwave from the transformation knocking Lioxal off balance and allowing you to get an(admittedly cheap) shot in.
  27.
  28. "I see...so you weren't fighting at full strength either. Very well, I'll kill you with the best I have!"
  29.
  30. A swirling mass of dark energy envelops Lioxal's body, the two of you causing the entire area to shake slightly.
  31.
  32. "NOW THEN, SHOW ME ALL THAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER!"
  33.
  34. You can only groan. She just isn't going to allow this to be easy is she?
  35.
  36. >Roll 1d100+30 Bo3
  37.
  38. >61+30=91
  39.
  40. You have to go on the offensive. You don't give her a chance to react as you move in to attack. You can't maintain this form for too long and so you have to take her down as fast as you can! You move in, making an overhead slash that she just barely blocks. Infusing your blade with the power of the sun, you're able to break her guard and deliver a sickening slash to her chest.
  41.
  42. "Guh, it burns..." She groans before jumping back
  43.
  44. She isn't stunned before long though, and sure enough she gets right back into the thick of it and delivers a clawed swipe to your chest causing sparks to fly from it. You stumble back, but you don't falter and get back into the fight with her, delivering a knee to her jaw. The two of you begin trading blows back and forth as you attempt to wear her down, but you can tell that she's barely even getting tired.
  45.
  46. "I refuse to let you defeat me here! I will have my revenge on that blasted Omni!" She growls
  47.
  48. "I don't know who that is and I don't care, I'm putting a stop to you here and now!"
  49.
  50. >Roll 1d100+30 again! Bo3
  51.
  52. >90+30=120
  53.
  54. The conviction of your words allows you to overpower Lioxal, you force her back, and this time you bring your blade down low and take a swing at her leg. You're actually shocked for a moment, because apparently your aim was far more true than you expected as her leg is completely lopped off causing Lioxal to let out a pained scream.
  55.
  56. "Damn you!" She roars as...her leg is reformed from the energies of this place.
  57.
  58. Well shit.
  59.
  60. She gets back to her feet, but you can tell that attack did some serious damage to her...and that's when it hits you: She claimed she's weakened, but when attacking normally she seemed perfectly fine. Odds are she has to expend energy to keep this place together, let alone fix herself if you lop off a limb. You aren't proud of it, but this seems to be the key to defeating Lioxal for good!
  61.
  62. You smirk behind your helmet, things are about to get good.
  63.
  64. >Roll 1d100+30 Bo3
  65.
  66. >76+30=106
  67.
  68. The two of you clash again, and this time Lioxal's a lot more on guard. You just barely manage to graze another of her legs, and she delivers a brutal kick to your chest knocking you to the ground. She follows up with a downward stab, attempting to end you right there.
  69.
  70. You roll out of the way, kicking her in the side to create some more distance between the two of you. You get back to your feet, just in the nick of time so that you can deflect Lioxal's next attack. You can start to feel yourself hitting a limit. You aren't sure how long you can hold out with your Gold Star form.
  71.
  72. "That form...how irritating. I do not wish to use more of my power, but a bit more."
  73.
  74. Lioxal moves in to attack you again, but this time, while you move to block her blade strike, she instead pivots on her heel and gently touches your armor. You knock her away, but you feel...odd. Looking at the spot where she touched you, you notice something horrifying.
  75.
  76. Your armor is deteriorating.
  77.
  78. "What the hell is this?!" you exclaim
  79.
  80. "The power of ruin. The power to corrupt, decay, and destroy. Let us see how long you can last~"
  81.
  82. That's not good...
  83.
  84. You are suffering from touch of decay. From the next turn onward your rolls will suffer a -5 (until you hit +15 again) until you return to your regular state.
  85.
  86. >1d100+30 bo3
  87.
  88. >73+30=103
  89.
  90. With your armor suffering the way it is, you're now a bit more frantic. You do your best to get in close and lop off some more of Lioxal's body parts, but she's on to you and keeps dodging and countering your blows, preventing you from getting a clean hit in. You can feel your armor slowing fall apart more and more.
  91.
  92. The two of you clash blades for a moment before you headbutt her. The attack catches her off guard, and you manage to get a clean slash in on her torso, which she quickly fixes up. She doesn't seem too worse for wear, surface level attacks like that being an easy fix for her.
  93.
  94. "You'll have to do better than that servant of Xumir."
  95.
  96. And now she's starting to tease you. Perfect.
  97.
  98. "Heh, I'm not even getting started." You quip
  99.
  100. That's a total lie, you're actually giving it all you've got right now...
  101.
  102. You hear bits of your armor shatter to the floor, and you can feel that you're slightly weaker than before. You've got to deal some serious damage and fast!
  103.
  104. >Roll 1d100+25 Bo3
  105.
  106. >47+25=72
  107.
  108. You attempt to make a move, but Lioxal is aware that she's got you on the backfoot now. She speeds towards you and proceeds to knock you around consecutively, for every dodge you attempt, she's right there to punish you, any time you try to block, she instead feints and gets your blind spot with another attack that digs directly into your armor, causing sparks to fly out all over.
  109.
  110. "D-dammit." You mutter
  111.
  112. "What's the matter Servant of Xumir? I thought you weren't really trying?"
  113.
  114. You don't say anything as you stagger to your feet. Sparks spilling out from your armor still. You can't take too many more hits like that one. Hell, you're surprised you're even standing still (barely, but it counts).
  115.
  116. You say nothing as you ready your weapon yet again.
  117.
  118. More of your armor has wasted away...
  119.
  120. >Roll 1d100+20 Bo3
  121.
  122. >100+20=120
  123.
  124. That's it no more messing around. You can feel the very last bit of your Gold Star power running thin, and with Lioxal walking towards you casually there's not much you can do. You take a few breathes as you drop your blade.
  125.
  126. "Oh my, giving up already? Very well, I shall make your death quick."
  127.
  128. Time seems to slow down as she rushes towards you. her hand glowing with a ghastly dark power. You gather your energy in your hand and in a desperate act of all or nothing, curling up your fist, you bring your arm back and then send it surging forward towards Lioxal.
  129.
  130. At first, you don't think anything happened, you're expecting to have been run through or worse...but then you open your eyes and see Lioxal's body...
  131.
  132. Without her head attached to it...
  133.
  134. Her body stays still for a moment before crumbling to the ground.
  135.
  136. "Holy crap." You say looking at your palm for a moment as the last of your gold armor disappears. That...certainly did Lioxal in for sure.
  137.
  138. Or so you thought, as her head begins to speak.
  139.
  140. "Y-you...bastard...I'll be back. I will have my revenge...once I regain enough energy, I'll will turn your world...into...into one of ruin. With the last of my strength....I will...take you and your pathetic friends with me into the void!"
  141.
  142. Her body turns into a black sludge...and then the sky begins to crack...before shards of it fall to the ground as if it were glass. As if that wasn't enough, the ground has begun to violently shake!
  143.
  144. "Time to get the hell out of here!" You exclaim as you begin to run for your life, you just hope the others are okay...
  145.
  146. Your armor leaves your body as you run. You're completely exhausted by this point, but even so you continue to flee as fast as your legs can carry you. As you run down the path leading from the ruined castle, you see Sanja,Sadie,Helena, and Mirielle all in their normal state and looking...extremely beat up. Sanja's got a gash on her forehead, Sadie's...oh god her leg is broken, as in there's a notable piece of bone sticking out where it shouldn't. Helena's entire face is black and blue and the only one who looks okay is Mirielle.
  147.
  148. "R-Red, what's going on?!" Sadie wheezes
  149.
  150. "Killed a god, the entire place is falling apart, and we need to go NOW!"
  151.
  152. The shaking grows more violent as your allies begin running with you as the path begins to fall apart. Sanja has Sadie on her back carrying her the rest of the way while running, surprisingly she's able to keep up with you all, and before long you're finally at the area where you left Jane and Saya.
  153.
  154. Looking at the two of them you can see that they appear to be okay...for the most part. They've returned to their normal state as well, and look completely spent with several wounds all over their body.
  155.
  156. "The fuck is happening Red?"
  157.
  158. "No time to talk just RUN!"
  159. And so you do, as you all make your way back to where you started, you bring up your communicator "Uh, Sally, don't know if you can hear me but we need that portal thing open NOW! The entire place is coming down on us!"
  160.
  161. It's muffled, but you can barely hear a 'roger' from the other end. The world is shattering even faster now and it's catching up with you, just in time though, a portal opens and you along with everyone else pass through it.
  162.
  163. The awful feeling of traveling through different dimensions overwhelms you all again as you fall through. At least now you'll be safe.
  164.
  165. "YoU WiLL nOt EsCaPe!!!!!!"
  166.
  167. Or so you thought.
  168.
  169. Looking behind you, you see a smokey black figure outstretch its hand and grab onto you attempting to pull you back.
  170.
  171. "R-Red!" everyone shouts as they grab onto your hand, trying to pull you with them
  172.
  173. "Guys, get him free, if you stay there too long, I can't guarantee you'll survive!" Sally exclaims via the communicator
  174.
  175. You've...got to do something.
  176.
  177. >Let her go, give her one more punch for the road.
  178. >Hang on to your friends!
  179.
  180. >Let her go, give her one more punch for the road.
  181.
  182. You know what it is you have to do. This thing, it isn't letting go, not until it gets you...and if that's what it wants...you're going to be a gentlemen and oblige her.
  183.
  184. You give the others a solemn look. "I'm sorry, I love you all." You say as you let go of them
  185.
  186. "Red?! No, NO, RED NO!"
  187.
  188. You aren't sure who yelled that, it's hard to tell with what's happening exactly. The screams of your friends fade as they continue traveling back home. As for you...
  189.
  190. "Red Meteor, Realize!"
  191.
  192. You transform again, it won't last long, you're so terribly tired...but still, you'll give it all you've got.
  193.
  194. You break free of Lioxal's grasp with ease. Her grip was firm, but her hand brittle and begin falling towards her.
  195.
  196. "Here's a gift!" You exclaim charging up the power of flames in your right hand. "TAKE THIS, FIST OF THE SUPERNOOOOOVA!!!"
  197.
  198. You wait until you get directly in her face before punching her with all the power you can muster. A large explosion rocks the entire rift as your eyes are blinded by your attack with Lioxal letting out a terrifying scream as her smokey body flies back the way it came. As for you...well, you don't know. That last attack took absolutely everything out of you...you can feel your armor disappear from your body and your consciousness fades.
  199.
  200. "...Up...wake.."
  201.
  202. You hear a voice...
  203.
  204. "up...wa..up."
  205.
  206. Sounds kind of nice...female?
  207.
  208. "WAKE UP!!!"
  209.
  210. Your eyes shoot open as you look at your surroundings. It's the city! You made it home...but it looks like everything is wrecked...and why aren't you in Sally's lab? Before you can say anything though, a blaster is held to your face.
  211.
  212. "What the hell?!" You shout, you try to get to your feet, only to held down by an armored foot
  213.
  214. "Stay right there! I'm Pink Supernova, and you're coming with me!"
  215.
  216. "Pink...Supernova?" you ask with a raised eyebrow
  217.
  218. >Red Meteor Quest Season 2: The End
