  1. This is probably the last FlutterRape story I'll be doing. I don't plan on making this a very long story. Just a word of warning, if you are sick of how my stories turn out and wish for something different, then this story might be just what you're looking for.
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5.
  6.
  7. >Humans are interesting creatures.
  8. >They are either capable of the greatest good.
  9. >Or the greatest evil.
  10. >A door slams open.
  11. >Who you end up with is the luck of draw.
  12. >”We have an adolescent here and he’s not responding.” A voice spoke out. What was it saying?
  13. >Life for you was dark and lonely. You didn’t even know what was going on.
  14. >You dare not move or make a sound. You might get hit again. Something bright is shone into your eyes. Your eyes close shut.
  15. >”He’s blinking, sir. Are the paramedics here?”
  16. >You hear yelling in the distance. A struggle was going on.
  17. >All around you hear them making sounds. Sounds you didn’t understand. “Are you OK? We’re going to get you out of here.”
  18. >Someone was looking at you. You looked back.
  19. >They spoke the same way mommy did sometimes.
  20. >More people came.
  21. >They put you onto another bed and took you outside. You’ve never felt or seen anything quite like the sun in the sky.
  22. >You went inside this giant box thing on wheels. You had one person on each side of you, and the box started to move.
  23. >This was a new sensation.
  24. >You had no idea what was happening. You couldn’t even articulate the words in your mind.
  25. >The man put something to your mouth, and before you knew it, it was time to see things in your mind.
  26. >It was quiet again for a while.
  27. >You woke up in a new world. It was bright, sounds everywhere and people in white coats were around you. “How are you feeling, sweet heart?”
  28. >A lady doctor patted you on the forehead.
  29. >No sound. You didn’t like it when you got hit for making sound come out of you.
  30. >”This is the worst case I’ve ever seen.” One of them said.
  31. >”From what was recovered, he is currently 14 years old and was isolated in his bedroom at a young age.”
  32. >If only you could understand what they were chattering about.
  33. >You were more interested in the things around you.
  34. >Shuffling to sit up, one of the doctors gently eases you back down. Fear struck you and you froze in place.
  35. >Was she going to hit you?
  36. >”No education whatsoever and he can’t even speak. Probably doesn’t understand what we’re saying. Father suffered from depression, restrained the kid in his room, gave him bare necessities to live and minimized human contact.”
  37. >The doctors made their agreements, “This is a golden opportunity to study human development. Speech Acquisition, Critical Period Hypothesis and that’s just to name a few.”
  38. >”Doctor, I hope you’re not putting the well being of this poor boy below academics.”
  39. >”Not at all, we will rehabilitate him as well. This will give us a better insight into the question of ‘Can humans develop even after isolation?’.”
  40. >News spread about the discovery of a 14 year old teen that was found locked in a room. The mother and father were taken into custody for questioning.
  41. >All across the country news spread. He couldn’t speak, didn’t understand what anyone said and was malnourished. It was a heart string tugging story that touched an entire nation and fascinated the science community.
  42. >Soon, doctors from all over came to visit.
  43. >Time had little meaning to you. For some time you would sit in a room filled with objects that were yours to explore.
  44. >People in white coats would sit there and observe you. They made weird sounds at you.
  45. >They even had to potty train you.
  46. >Your parents left you in diapers, more or less, since your birth and part of your childhood was spent sitting on a potty chair.
  47. >It was a miracle you didn’t get leprosy or die at all. Even doctors were baffled at your overall health stating you could’ve been much worse off.
  48. >They called you Anon.
  49. >Anon was the first word you recognized.
  50. >Every time that word was mentioned, you somehow knew it meant you.
  51. >It wasn’t long before you were able to use the bathroom by yourself.
  52. >”Why hasn’t he tried talking back to us yet?” one of the doctors asked in a conference room.
  53. >”The report said that the father would hit him whenever he made a sound. Crying, babbling, barking or growling was met with severe punishment. His father was depressed and hated noise of any kind.”
  54. >The head of the research team looked at you through a one way mirror. “Well, we need to get him to talk. We measured his brainwaves during his sleep and by all accounts there is nothing abnormal. It’s much like an infant. He should be able to say at least a few words.”
  55. >”The lad clearly needs to get up and regain strength. His gait is awkward, his muscles are almost non-existent and he’s in bad shape.”
  56. >The doctors would argue amongst themselves while you sat there in the bright room playing with the few toys in there.
  57. >”We should be lucky he can even walk at all. “Maybe if we got him to interact with the other children.”
  58. >”Under adult supervision of course.” The other doctor warned. “We haven’t seen how adversely he could react with other children.”
  59. >You were put into a new place.
  60. >But this one had people that were tall like you, or even shorter.
  61. >They kept making their chattering sounds, playing with things.
  62. >You stood near the doorway with the doctor, unsure of what to do. “Do you want to play with the others, Anon?”
  63. >You looked up to her; instinctively you shook your head to say no to her.
  64. >She allowed you to stand in the corner, and you stood there and watched the others carefully.
  65. >The doctor stayed close by for some reason. If made you feel more at ease that someone familiar didn’t leave you yet.
  66. >As the others played with each other and talked, you looked on around the room.
  67. >Something caught your attention. It was a sound.
  68. >At the other end of the room, several children were gathered around a box that had pictures on it. Moving pictures.
  69. >It made sounds, but it was a little different than talking.
  70. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rynj4WuXxYA)
  71. >You etched closer and closer you get a better view. But you maintained a distance away from the other children.
  72. >Bright colours filled your eyes as you looked at the screen. Wonderful sounds came from the box.
  73. >On screen you could see things moving and talking, but they didn’t look like those around you. They had things on their back, weird coloured covering and big eyes.
  74. >They spoke. Docile tones of these magnificent creatures filled you with awe.
  75. >This magical box filled with moving pictures that made sound fascinated you. You still kept watching from a distance.
  76. >You watched and listen intensely as the show went on, but soon it stopped. The magical box was turned off by a person in a white coat.
  77. >It was time to sleep.
  78. >One of the doctors walked with you to a room. She gently reached to hold your hand; you slowly withdrew your hand in anticipation.
  79. >She didn’t even try a second attempt. “Did you have fun with the other children?” she asked.
  80. >What was she even asking?
  81. >The bed you climbed onto clumsy was better than the other one you use to have.
  82. >Without another word, the doctor uttered the same words as always before she left the room at night.
  83. >Outside you could hear people talking. “Well? How did he respond to the others?”
  84. >”He was shy, but he watched the television from across the room.” She replied.
  85. >”You didn’t try to get him to socialize with the others? You should’ve tried at least.” He criticized her.
  86. >”Sir, it’s best not to rush these things. It’ll come about in time. When I look at him, I know he’s feeling confused but we need to provide a nurturing environment. Not the same life he had before.”
  87. >”We’re giving him a stimulating environment. But do you think he’ll have a promising future?”
  88. >”To be honest, I think he really does.” She replies.
  89. >The noises went away and you were able to sleep. But you couldn’t get this sound out of your head. The same sound that the magical box played.
  90. >Something inside you wanted you to see more.
  91. >You didn’t know how much time has passed, but it was still dark out.
  92. >Clumsily, you climbed out of the bed. Not a single sound was to be made.
  93. >You didn’t want to get hit again.
  94. >Grasping at the door handle you twist and turned it awkwardly until it made a sound and you could pull the door open.
  95. >Peering out you didn’t see anyone. Not a single person.
  96. >You could remember which way the room was. The same room with the magical box.
  97. >It was quiet. Just how dad liked it.
  98. >Keeping your hand against the wall, you slowly walked down the hall with a quiet shuffle.
  99. >You recognized the location and found the room you were looking for. The door opens easily.
  100. >It was dim, but you could see the box sitting on top of something. You carefully approach it and felt the screen with your hand.
  101. >It was an interesting sensation. Concepts like cold and smooth were foreign to you, but it was different none the least.
  102. >How does it work?
  103. >You studied the box in silence for a while hoping it would turn on.
  104. >The doctor...
  105. >He touched it somewhere.
  106. >You explored the box and found a tiny square on the side. With a push it makes a click and the black whirls into life.
  107. >This was exciting. You felt your face stretch as you expressed this new felt excitement of joy.
  108. >The picture started to glow, but it was all fuzzy and weird. No pictures on it.
  109. >Looking around you found a smaller black box underneath. It had a bunch of different symbols of different shapes.
  110. >Pressing one of the buttons, lights on the box flickered and a high pitch whining sound comes off of it.
  111. >You quickly pressed another hoping something would happen, and sure enough it does.
  112. >The pictures come back to the magical box and you could see and hear them again.
  113. >You stared in awe as you watched and listen to these weird things. They spoke the same way the people here did.
  114. >Like hypnotism, you sat there staring at the screen watching what the characters were doing or saying.
  115. >Some of the things they spoke sounded similar to you.
  116. >As soon as the show ended, another one started up. It started with the same musical melody.
  117. >You kept absorbing the moving pictures and sounds, even if you didn’t understand what was going on.
  118. >The blue one looked angry at the pink one. She makes a loud sound with an angry face.
  119. >They sometimes made funny faces.
  120. >Another sound fills your mind.
  121. >This was a bad sound.
  122. >It was high pitch and it hurt your ears.
  123. >The sound got more intense; you put your hands to your ears to block it. It didn’t help.
  124. >The pictures on the screen start to go fuzzy and flash colours.
  125. >Your eyes felt funny as everything starts to fade to darkness.
  126. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WO-x-1EaXQ )
  127. >It was time to dream again.
  128. >To withdraw into your own protective world.
  129. >Away from everyone.
  130. >To be alone.
  131. >The same as it was and ever shall be.
  132. >...
  133. >Someone is whispering.
