Dear rich people of Quebec: Merci beaucoup!

Rich people are truly the unsung heroes of our system!  Just by living here and paying taxes here, they contribute far more to our society than they take out of it.  Well, today, rich people of Quebec, you will be sung!

Take Pierre Karl Peladeau, for instance.  As President and CEO of Quebecor, he earns $4 880 923 per year.  According to taxtips.ca's Quebec Tax Calculator, he would have paid over $2 Million in taxes.  Between him, his wife and two kids, the combined spending of the federal and Quebec governments was $66 896.  In addition to paying for his family's share of government services, his taxes pay for the health care and education of 150 kids!  Merci M. Peladeau!

This is not even including Municipal or excise taxes! Plus, let's not forget that Quebecor employs 35 000 people, worldwide!  Look, I'm certainly not a shill for Quebecor or anything, but this is just one example of a heroic rich Quebecer willing to put up with our lousy weather and high taxes.  And we should be grateful for it!
