Overlord Theories

1.) First is the Zy'tl Q'ae from the Drama CD is the Calamity / Catastrophe Dragon Lord mentioned in Volume 1 and 3. It's basically Kuro Mati = Calamity, and we learn there is an Evil Tree Dragon Lord in the Tob Forest. The kicker is that Evil Tree in Japanese is Kuro Maki. Ergo, the Black Scripture were looking for the Kuro Maki Dragon Lord, but they pronounce it as Kuromati. There is a twitter post and Web Novel chapter that supports this but it might spoil you and I don't know if you experienced the Drama CD yet. This is a split off of the "Lisp" theory. That is, New Worlders mispronounce certain things that are not in their native language since auto translate is not perfect, hence why things sound funny to them. The Web Novel had someone call a Guild Weapon a Guilti Weapon. Another example will appear in Volume 6, someone will misprounounce Level Up as Lair Bellup later too. People joke on the Japanese forum that Agrande Republic is really someone who heard about "A grand Republic" from a Player and named their country that.... It'll make sense after Volume 7. There is another Lisp theory about Wild Magic but there isn't any evidence for it yet.

In Overlord Maruyama used to show New Worlders muck up foreign terms from YGGDRASIL. This is clear when Platinum Dragon Lord mistakes a Guild Weapon to be called a Guilty Weapon and is corrected by Rigrit in the WN. Then there is the Lair-bellup thing in the LN.

Well a theory sprang up from some info to explain why the Black Scripture was deployed to the Great Forest of Tob with all their members and a World Item when Ainz had yet to encounter anything that would warrant such a force (the Theocracy was clear several times in the WN that Godkin alone could take Dragon Lords and the Cardinals in V10 suggested the Calamity Dragon Lord did not possess Wild Magic). So what gives? Were they on their way somewhere? Was the path through the forest just a detour?

Well one theory to address this is, the Calamity Dragon Lord was Zy'tl Q'ae.

Evidence #1: The Theocracy by LN Volume 1 had already deployed the the Black Scripture to protect their World Item to confront the awakening of the Calamity Dragon Lord, hence why the Sunlight Scripture had to assassinate Gazef Stronoff.

Evidence #2: When people were curious when the Calamity Dragon Lord would make an appearance around Volume 4ish (December 2013), Maru said: "So you expected the Dragon Lord without any screen-time? However... is it reasonable it survived?
…It was completely destroyed/defeated in the past among other things

where coincidentally Volume 4's Special Edition was the one which came with the Zy'tl Q'ae Drama CD.

Evidence #3: WN Part 2 provides the greatest support:

"In addition to a region controlled by Giants, dragons also reside [in the mountain range], there are things like that there.. "

Honestia, Jet, and Nemeru held no sign of being in wonder at those words.

"Dragons, huh. Well they do not appear in the forest. A large part of the forest around the Azellarious Mountains is segregated from the territory of the Frost Dragons so there is no need to worry. "

For something to gain renown in a forest like a dragon, Honestia's question made sense yet Fluder frowned.

So what does that fudging up of names have to do with this other evidence and the Calamity Dragon Lord you might say? Well consider the following:

Which is written as Saiyaku Dragon King, but you should know that Dragon King is supposed to be pronounced Dragon Lord as how Catastrophe Dragon Lord's name comes with the proper Kanji name and his Furigana Pronunciation guide. So what does that mean?

Well Saiyaku can be translated as Calamity or からまち [Ku-ra-ma-ti], which only got used once for his name. Some people think it was just Maru derping, but others think not only are they synonymous but was meant to suggest the differences in name for this Dragon Lord.

That is, まち [ma-ki]

So it's like how Le-Vel Up-> Lair-bell Up

In this case Kuro-Maki->kura-Mati

As in this Kuro is Guilty Evil Tree (rather than the black definition kuro which is also supposed to a hint from the the whole Guilty Guild mix up).

Some Nipper got bored, was playing around with his kanji and trying to understand the whole Calamity Catastrophe mixup and then settled on it's NWers botching a term into something more Chuuni or edgy.

The naming sense aside, I've long suspected Zy'tl was the main culprit, due to his NW overlevel and the fact he sleeps and awakens for some reason. Maybe in the ST arc we will find the Theocracy shit themselves when Calamity Dragon Lord was used for a team exercise by Nazarick....

3.) There are theories about Rubedo being a golem based on statements you will see in Volume 7 and subtle foreshadowing in Volume 6. It's not a spoiler but will explain why she doesn't appear in a certain peace of art.

Rubedo activated in V7, golem core V6. Stronger than Touch Me Twitter. Better than Level 100 NPCs and Shalltear.

We're kicking off the theory channel with one of the oldest and most popular theories! Rubedo, called the single strongest individual of Nazarick, is shrouded in mystery throughout the series. The most popular and common theory explaining what Rubedo truly is the Caloric Stone Golem theory. The Caloric Stone in Yggdrasil was a World Item formed completely by accident by the Ainz Ooal Gown guild while they were stockpiling an incredibly vast amount of Prismatic Ores (the highest tier crafting metals in the game) in the same place, and eventually this stockpiled ore merged together to form the Caloric Stone World Item (at the expense of losing a lot of valuable crafting materials). The Caloric Stone was a special item that could be used as the core of a crafted item, and it is popular belief that Rubedo is a golem whose core is made from the Caloric stone, making "her" an extremely powerful being due to being powered by a World Class Item, the strongest class of items in Yggdrasil.

Rubedo is listed as a being even stronger than Touch Me in a fight, one of the strongest players in all of Yggdrasil with a class that can only be obtained via winning a huge PVP tournament that wasn't available to custom NPCs.

In a picture drawn by So-Bin titled `The Level 100's of Nazarick`, every person in the art is accounted for as a level 100 (including the recently confirmed Aureole Omega who was hinted in the art years before she was confirmed to be level 100 in Volume 13). There are no unaccounted-for individuals in the art.

In summary, Rubedo with "her" incredible power isn't listed as a Level 100 being in Nazarick even though possessing the raw power to overwhelm one of the strongest players in the game. This can easily be attributed to that Rubedo is a Golem because Golems are treated as "items" by the game, and though they have stats and can fight, they do not have actual levels. Just like Gargantua, who has stats surpassing Shalltear (who is said to have the highest stat total amongst the custom NPC Floor Guardians), yet also doesn't appear in the Level 100 art and also doesn't have levels. "Her" status as a golem being made from a World Item also explains why Rubedo is so strong.

In a flashback, the guild members were discussing how to use the Caloric Stone. One idea was to make a "super-powerful" golem with it.

An 8th Floor Denizen would need to be equipped with a World Item to defeat her 1 on 1 (it is remarked Rubedo loses to a single Denizen if they have one though). Note that WCI are not all combat-related items. A Denizen likely needs the WCI for the Protection Buff against World Items as Rubedo being a WCI Golem would have WCI-related abilities.

Albedo and Ainz talk about the Activation experiment for Rubedo being a success. Activation is a similar term also used for mobilizing Gargantua. Also in the same section Ainz refers to Rubedo not as a "she", but "it".

Nigredo warns that Rubedo will bring calamity to Nazarick, and Ainz in volume 1 forbade the Floor Guardians from accessing the 8th floor (which is where Rubedo is). I believe Rubedo is a danger because as a golem, Rubedo was likely subject to the Nazarick running joke of golems with shitty targeting AI (golems that were just as likely to attack friendlies as they were enemies). Except with Rubedo it's no longer a joke due to the immense power of a World Item golem going on a rampage against friendlies would be a very bad situation.

4.) The Enslaved Demon King theory is one the Japanese came up which offers an alternative view on what happened 200 years ago using knowledge about tropes and being genre savvy. The scary thing is how certain circumstantial evidence in the WN and Volume 10 don't contradict it either. I wouldn't read that until you read up to Volume 10 though. It's basically the members of a certain country never consider Ainz a Demon God rather coming up with even more ridiculous ideas for his origin instead. I can explain this more after you catch up.

6.) You haven't met him, but the Elven King has A LOT of theories about him, mainly how strong he is based off what little evidence that is out right now. I'd wait until you get to Volume 11 before looking into these.

tl;dr It's unexplained why the Theocracy will assassinate Gazef but not Rape King. Rape King somehow kept a Godkin imprisoned and the Black Scripture didn't assassinate him when they infiltrated his rape chamber to save her. Zesshi was said to be a child of impossible odds, IE did she Awaken not only as a Godkin but whatever Rape King's bloodline is? Do the 5 god relics mean 1 god's relics are kept elsewhere (God of Life is Alah Alaf or "Alf God" hence why Royal elves live longer than normal elves (see Brain's line when he geets petrified by Aura in WN)since they age like YGGDARSIL elves not New World elves. Likewise, Downfall hasn'ing can't get Downfalled due to having a World Item or Player gear etc).

Basically, Elf King is a Player descendant is one theory. Antoehr is NW only super sstrong elves. Elf verssion of Dragon Lords is another. Or God

Yeah, there certainly is hints of it here and there. I wish there was more to go on.

I certainly feel Aggrande hates them (WN states they hate each other) for more than just for their demi-human slaughtering as we have seen Slane help the Draconic Kingdom's queen despite having some dragonlord blood (it's unlikely they don't know that at least based on the rumors even Fluder knows). I really hope that is the case, but if he does know it's still odd he wouldn't pay them back for it, since Slane fears he may if he found out about their godkin (well more Zesshi than the Captain).

Don't get me wrong, I still think this theory helps explain a lot, I just admit that it introduces some complications to boot. There are different versions of it at least, but it feels more plausible than some others, since I can't shake the feeling something was up with that war. Perhaps if the Evil Deities didn't run amok 200 years ago we would hear some stories less biased against the 8GKs. PDL being wary of the ST does support the idea he has a feeling they were up to something. It does certainly fit their MO like assassinating Gazef by scorching and slaughtering those in villages, to trying to meet in secret with the Emperor, and infilitrating Kingdom territory to presumably capture the Calamity Dragonlord in secret. Trying to push their agenda without necessarily being the actual culprits is something they seem to do. They even contemplate trying to use the citizens to turn Momon on Ainz, but fear they'll catch on and turn on them together.

Perhaps the worst thing they could have doen was alert Ainz to their tactics early on from Nigun and the Sunlight Scripture. Well, that's basis. There is something complicating this whole relationship. Be it from how the Elven King used trust to trick the ST's godkin to why it has taken so long, to the whole Awakenign thing, and so on.

So putting these all together, you can explain some of this shit at least. That is, factoring the misspelling, if Alah Alaf really meant the God of Life was an Alf or YGGDRASIL elf, that justifes things. First, it explains why he isn't worshipped in human nations besides the ST. Then if you factor in how the 4 Elemental gods were said to be weaker than the Life and Death gods, that explains why a descendant of Alah Alaf would be stronger tahn a descendant of the other 4 human ones. That is he awakened to the powers of a player stronger than the other 4. This doesn't disprove that he himself is a Player or a descendant fo a different one. ST pretty much comfirms he isn't their Player god at least, based on lines form teh WN.

So he's a different Player or player descendant? Well, that's where this arguement loses persuasiveness. Since it's quite possible actually. The real question is pinpointing where he fits in all of the timelines then. Well, he helped the 13 Heroes in the WN at least, his heterochromia being known by others like Igvarge in V3 and Imina in V7 to be associated with Elven Royalty also suggests it's an inherited trait. Based off how he knows about Awakening just like how the ST knows, it's more likely he is a Player descendant then. His self-centeredness supports this as well, but doesn't disprove the Player nature.

Irregardless, his strength is synonymous with the Elven royalty or as it is put in the WN, the Royalty of the Ancestral Elves or High Elves if you want to localize that.

“It was said that the 13 Heroes have passed away, then again, some of them may still be alive.” “The Elven King is still alive right?” “There’s no way to verify the authenticity of such news. It seemed to be a rumour that originated from the Theocracy.”

“The fact is that many of the Thirteen Heroes were nonhumans. The Warrior-Captain of the Air Giants and his Axe of Cyclones, the Elf Royal Family who bore the special characteristics of the ancestral Elves, and the Black Knight who wielded the Four Swords of Darkness — the original owner of our leader’s Kilineyram — was also a human with demon’s blood.”

The 6GG one gets favored not only because of the name thing though and player nature. We have seen Downfall work on an NPC at least, so no player theory explains why they haven't gone all out against the rapist. Unless, you consider he's a godkin too. How do you deal with one godkin hurting another? That's where this theory comes back in favor. It took so long because not only was he possibly just as much realted to their gods, but their cultures were linked based on a shared heritage. It's specualted the Elven Kingdom favors this Alah Alaf like how the human nations favor the 4 Elemental Gods for being human. That's not really as persuasive, but it would explain why there was a cooperative relationsip. We already know the ST can send their priests to stay at 4Elemental sites when visiting the Empire. Well, some people think its just the Angel thing that really separates the ST form the human relgions of the Kingdom and Empire. In the WN, an Evil God became a cult relgion since it was purposely made by Zuranon to resemble Zurshana who was practiced in the ST while the other 4 were not.

Still, why not deploy the World Item if you are willing to forsake all these other reasons? Well, that is where taht 5 Traesures comes into play. it's possible he has the God of Life's gear etc. So he can put up against ST's divine relics.

It's about the only way to explian why they can infiltrate his capital but not actually put him down with all their firepower.

Some minor pionts are how Zesshi was treated well despite the non-human aspects. Even if she was a godkin's child, there was no guarantee she would Awaken. So why keep the child? Certailny id doesn't hurt to have another blood holder. How come she was way stronger than the Captain, a normal godkin stronger than regualr dragonlords? Well its theorized taht Maru called her the Overlrod of the New World because she Awakened two Godkin bloodlines and teh strongest Talent to boot. Again, this is a weaker part of teh theory, but it does explain why she is so strong. It can just as well be just has her Awakened Godkin power and whatever the Elven King says awakens in elves as well.

A major couner arguement to all this is why did the Elf God die? There aren't any clear answers for that one in fact. It's a very important point to keep in mind and reveals that more info is still needed before we can be certain. The other is why would the ST hate elves so much if their god was one? Well, this one does have a rebuttal, that is the common ST grunt even at Nigun's level is not aware of Godkin. So the whoel notion of player or god bloodline is actually not public. The ST does this on purpose mind you. Well that can help explian how long it takes at least, irregardless of whether the Elf King is a godkin or not, it's hard to just start a war with no support. Though it does not explain why the ST didn't go the BS or World Item route, even when they have more than enough Godkin and BS members to deploy. So there has to be somethign related either to his equipment that negates the WI (the ST laments it isn't perfect) or the Elf King indeed does have some special ancestral magic realted to old elves that may be some kind of alternative to Wild Magic. Well this realtes to how High Elves often have special powers in other fiction, though it is also possible ancestral elf power refers to godkin powers too.

So I hope this helps clarify things Cade. It's just a theory based on a few snippets of info, but does explain some holes in the story that pretty much nothing else seems to cover. Based on the words of the ST, all their Gods are dead, at least in the WN. They specify how if only one was still around, their 6 sect culture would fall apart due to various regions, like how that sect would be favored by the masses and so on. Keep in mind this is all pretty loosely scattered around everywhere. A lot of it relies on WN info too, which may have been retconned. Nonetheless, like any good theory, it does in fact have a basis and explains some holes in teh story that no other theory covers besides attributing to happenstance.

The Alah Alaf thing is not explictly stated to be an Elf 6GG. it's circumstantial. It comes from how Allah can be mean God and Alaf is one way to write Alf or norse elf. So it originates from the name. People do give supporting evidence for this though.

1.) The God of Life is not worshipped like the Four Elemental Gods in teh human nations to the Norht. Zurshana is easy to explain, as he was more worshipped out of fear. But then why is a God of Life ignored? So people think he wasn't necessarily human or something.

2.) The ST teaches that Alah and Zurshana came before the other 4, and could have been together. Whatever the circumstances, it seems those two may have been building up the ST before the other 4 got to help, otherwise they would be described as comign down together.

The Slane Theocracy revered six gods. This religion differed from the surrounding countries. The religion the surrounding countries believe in are the Four Elemental Gods.

They were Earth, Water, Fire and Wind. There were respective Gods that created and governed the world. And then there were smaller gods that dotted the surroundings. In comparison, the Slane Theocracy had additional gods, and ones even higher, the gods of Light—-Life and Darkness—-Death. In the beginning there was light and darkness, and from them the Four Great Gods were born. And so, not praying to the gods of life and death and instead praying to the gods below them as the most powerful, and so they had a very bad affinity to the religion of the Four Great Gods.

And basically the Theocracy did not recognise other groups besides humans. This was an extremely deep rooted thought born from religion. And so depending on the other non-human groups, the neighbouring Elf Kingdom, the Demi-human Legislation and the Dwarf Kingdom occasionally caused problems for them.

The reason why the people of this country worshipped this god which could be called an evil god, was as to beg him to not bring down his power of vice on them.

Written in the scriptures as stronger than both the god of life and the other four gods, as humans could not escape the scythe of death. And that was more than life, a god that absolutely exists.

The avatar of death was drawn with a skull as a base. And a figure with very little skin stuck to it. Its jet black robe was like a large body of darkness, and held a sparkling staff in its hand. That was the figure of the strongest god that everyone in the Theocracy knew.

So it goes: Zurshana>Alah Alaf>>4 Elemental Gods

3.) In the WN it states how dwarves, elves, and so on had rocky relations with the ST. Yet, we know they had some sort of alliance with the Elf Kingdom. What gives? Well if one of the 6GGs was an elf, it would explain why they wouldn't immediately hate them, especially since we learn the Cardinals mention humans are only taught to hate all the others to unite them. Humans just happened to be what the 6GGs saved at the start. It doesn't mean they didn't also help out others as well. So it's thought the modern prejudice isn't traditional.

4.) There were mentioned to be 5 treasures in teh ST armory which Zesshi guards. Written as pillars of their gods or so on. Its unclear what these are, but it's odd that of their faith, there are only 5 not 6. Well some attribute this to the 8GKs taking one during the PK, but it's never mentioned.

5.) Why would the ST let their godkin, one of their trump cards go to teh Elven Kingdom? ST cardinals mention this was a betrayal, so ti could have been a fake emergency or something explained in a treaty. But how come the ST could still send the Black Scripture to rescue her after the fact? So they only fielded one God-kin?

6.) Recall the Elven King's description of his home:

He walked to the balcony, a glass of amber liquid in his hand. The balcony was located on the tallest building in this city. From here, he could see the city which he ruled. His people lived between the myriad pinpoints of light below. He smirked as he took in the view, and pressed the glass to his lips.

Doesn't that sound like a skyscraper or very tall building? In a forest? It's high, like a tower actually. But would Elven royalty have something like that? It's true they don't have to be the stereotype elves that all live in a tree. But why does he use glasses, has a mirror, and so on in what is clearly not a tree?

It was tall enough to cause death at least to normal people. But he also secretly hoped that it would awaken their power.

That being the case, the cleanest way to do it would be to push the weakling off from here. The most important thing was that the extreme circumstances of the fall might awaken the power of the weakling. He wanted to say that it would be a good idea, but unfortunately, the weakling opened its mouth before he could do so.

This is not talked about much, but usually awaken is only used for Godkin in the raws. Rather its usually said people reach their talent not awaken to power. So why say it like that? It's the ST that teaches how people can awaken the power of their ancestors, the Players. So we know this guy has been sleeping around a lot to breed strong elves to little success. But if they all share some of his blood, that would mean they are awakening to something that he has awakened.

“...How surprising. Are you at your wits’ end because you are all weaklings? This is truly a country of idiots. All the children that I sired turned out to be nothing but useless.” People born in wartime were stronger than those born in peace. That being the case, warfare was an opportunity to awaken the power latent in all living things. However, he had not heard about anyone whose power had awakened so far. Still, he should not hold the people solely to blame. His many children had turned out that way as well. Their true number meant nothing to him so he paid it no heed; why would anyone bother counting pieces of garbage? It was probably because their mothers’ blood was too strong. None of the offspring he had bred from them possessed even a fraction of his power.

We know the Gods actually sired lots of children, but its very rare for even 1 or 2 to awaken in a single generation. Yet this guy is WAY stronger than everyone, but inherently none of his descendants have awakened. Well he says that extreme circumstances can awaken strength, but from the wars the Draconic Kingdom with the Beastmen not resulting in anything over Adamantite level, and Fluder being the strongest his nation has to offer, Gazef being the strongest in his nation, and almost all adventurers being at most Realm of Heroes. So is it unique to elves? But that seems odd if since it contradicts how some in the ST can Awaken.

It's also worth noting he considered the female trump card godkin on par with him, just he was strong enough to subdue her somehow, though it's not stated how. Counterarguements often come up here, like he used a unique elven skill or somethign her Godkin basis could not resist. Something NW exclusive. Though apparently it would have to be royalty only.

So even if he tricked her, he still managed to keep the woman captured and it took the ST's Black Scripture to get her back.

Well this is where the theory gains some weight. Why didn't the ST use Downfall on this cuck? Even if the Godkin was the only one of that generation, they still somehow managed to save her from the Elven King. Now factor in his daughter, Zesshi's age. She's older than the 70s at least. So why is the war only now getting intense? If the ST so thoroughly outmatches his nation, how could a single forest keep them at bay for so long? How come ST doesn't send in the BS now when they have sent tham all after a dragonlord before?

    Nazarick’s strongest individual, Rubedo. Her battle potential was well above that of Sebas, Cocytus, and Albedo in terms of pure melee combat. Shalltear would be a weakling in comparison, given the fact that even Ainz in his full equipment would most likely lose against Rubedo.

I've been thinking about this bit for quite some time. While it is highly unlikely that Albedo is planning a rebellion, could it be that Albedo plans to kill any Supreme Beings that she finds so that she could monopolize Ainz?

After all, she did (1) express her disdain for other Supreme Beings for abandoning the guild and (2) she's obsessed with Ainz. (3) Furthermore, if your objective is to search for other Supreme Beings, then it makes much more sense to have NPCs with reconnaissance and hunter-ranger skills. Ainz' reaction to Albedo's proposed team makes it sound like she assembled a pure DPS team.

In Volume 10, when Albedo meets with the leaders of Eight Fingers, who are under Nazarick’s control, she orders them to begin searching for a magic item that can control a target’s mind.

    “There’s one more thing I wanted to say. There’s a magic item that I want you to use your intelligence networks to locate for me. Record your findings on a parchment at regular intervals and send them to Albedo in the Sorcerous Kingdom. However, I don’t know anything about its external appearance, so there is that.”

    “...What sort of magic item would that be?”

    “It’s a magic item that can control a target’s mind.”

    “Mind control… a wand of charming or the like?”

    “No, it feels like it should be something stronger. I’m looking for something not in general circulation, a legendary item, or at least news about it. You must let me know anything you find, however insignificant it might be. Do you understand?” - Volume 10 Chapter 2

Obviously, Albedo is after Downfall of Castle and Country; the WCI that was used to take control of Shalltear. Here’s my theory in regards to that: Albedo intends to use Downfall to take control of any members of AOG that appear in the NW, and have them attack Nazarick. Of course, one or even a few supreme beings don’t stand a chance against the forces of Nazarick and will quickly be killed off. But by orchestrating a false flag attack like that, Albedo will make Ainz lose faith in his former friends. Ainz will give up on trying to reunite with his guildmates. Ainz will then focus all of his attention on conquering the NW and being the eternal ruler of Nazarick, or so Albedo believes. That’s what I believe Albedo’s plan is, if she gets her hands on Downfall.

 In Volume 7 Albedo finally confronts Ainz about the search for the other Supreme Beings. She negotiates with Ainz to give her a secret squad of high level vassals, including her sister Rubedo, to search for any Supreme Beings who may have made it to the New World. However a common theory is that this is no search party but a hit-squad that means to eliminate any other Supreme Beings. The theory goes that Albedo bears a grudge against the other Supreme Beings. The other Supreme Beings abandoned Momonga and the NPCs and their return could depose Momonga as the Guild Leader. Albedo plans to eliminate all found Supreme Beings secretly and report that none were found.

If Albedo ordered minions of Nazarick to attack a Supreme Being, would they?  Yuri and Shizu hesitate to attack Pandora’s Actor (disguised as a Supreme Being) even though they were given a direct order (Volume 3, Chapter 4).  However would this be the case with mindless vassals?  Albedo specifically asks for Rubedo for the search-team mission.  Rubedo is more powerful than even the Supreme Beings according to Ainz (Volume 7, Chapter 4, Part 3).  There is also evidence that she is likely a construct- a golem- who may follow orders blindly.  See the “Rubedo is a World Item Golem “ theory. Rubedo is the perfect tool for eliminating Supreme Beings that command the respect of sentient minions of Nazarick.  If you look at the composition of the team itself (Albedo, Pandora's Actor, Lvl 80+ mercenaries, and Rubedo), it is made entirely out of beings with no built-in loyalty to any other Supreme Being other Ainz. Albedo may have wanted Ainz’s undead minions for the rest of the team for similar reasons- they will not question orders.

After Ainz gives Albedo the mission to organize the rescue of Tsuare it is revealed that she has torn down the flag of Ainz Ooal Gown and replaced it with Momonga’s flag.  The flag of Ainz Ooal Gown is treated with “only hatred and hostility”.  There is an even more explicit example of this in the “Emissary of the King” side story.  Albedo fumes in private:

“The Ainz Ooal Gown which abandoned us… It makes me mad.”,
“—Shit! How dare these pieces of shit insult my love’s name!”, and later finally,

This paints a pretty clear picture. In Albedo’s eyes the other supreme beings are wretched, dangerous and unnecessary.

8.) There is a theory about the 42nd Supreme Being which makes sense if you read background material, the Prologue stories, and some other stuff. It's not a big reveal, but more a subtle explanation for why Ainz can get consider that person part of the guild.
The main theory relates to how Ainz says in V2 that you need to a majority of the guild members to approve a new member and

    However, this was not so for the two of them. The guild they belonged to —a group that was founded and managed by players. Ainz Ooal Gown —had two conditions that each of its members had to fulfill. The first was that everyone had to be a working member of society. The other was that they had to play heteromorphic characters. [V1]

    "…Forgive me for my laughter. That was a mistake on my part. But I would like you to understand that I was not laughing at your determination. In order to join my team, you must meet two criteria. At the moment, you have only met one of them. Therefore, I am sorry, but I cannot let you join."

    The hidden condition was that more than half of the present guild members had to approve of the prospective member. Therefore, even if Ainz agreed, he could not add members to the guild on his own. However, Ainz was pleased by the loyalty which the Guardians of Nazarick had shown him after coming to this world, and in that good mood, he continued:

This 42nd person never got their ring nor do any of the NPCs recall that person. The fact Ainz tried to contact them suggests that it's someone he was close to before the guild lost members, as he stated he stayed away from others when he went out, avoiding them. Yamaiko's sister Akemi visited the guild but she cannot be a member due to not being a Heterormoph. So the theory is Ainz or members of Nine's Own Goal agreed to let the member who left Nine's Own Goal of the Original Nine join the guild should they ever run into him even though he quit the game due to a disagreement with Touch Me. Ainz states how he still recalls his time with the Original Nine fondly in Volume 2 and in Prologue he mentions the disagreement would have not been a big deal if everyone stayed calm.

Therefore, people theorize they wanted to reserve a place as a guild member should they ever reunite. So if Ainz Ooal Gown ahd maxed out it's member count, one spot would always be reserved for this person.

Why he left is not mentioned in the LN or WN, but Maru suggested that the reason was related to the member of society requirement.

    In the beginning 9 people came together forming a group for the sake of self-defense. And slowly they went down the path of villains. As a consequence of a dispute a requirement was to be a working member of society. [Maru]

Why there was a dispute is unclear, but taking that hint and how soem people supported Touch Me, how Touch Me is poor at phrasing things sometimes, and how he was close to Ulbert, it appears to be Touch Me just wanted a non NEET rule speaking as a parent and police officer in the best interest of them, but he came off as elitist instead and triggered the guy who left and made Ulbert hate him too.

    Touch Me looked around, and then dropped a bombshell. “Firstly, I want to dissolve this clan.” For a moment, everyone was struck silent. ... “Momonga-san… You’re right. I went too far. Still, don’t you think he’s being selfish? First he chased that person away, and now this. 9.) There is the Awakening theory. You've met Awakened people in the Godkin from Volume 4. Well there was a theory about what Awakening is, and from the three we know, their is a hypothesis that it relates to albinoism after the anime revealed the Godkin's appearance.

    Various Demi-humans:

    The Slane Theocracy believed in beings called the 6 Great Gods [daijin], among
    some of the nation there are people who inherited[hiku] blood of the gods
    [which] was thick, or thin [kami no chi wokoi,usui]. Those kind of people
    had the possibility of having strong potential. It could be said that Clementine
    inherited traits from her ancestor Gods [kami nochiwohiite] in a sense
    as well. However that is only meant they inherited traits but did not surpass
    their ancestors, beings called Godkin [jinin] differed.
    Amongst all those descended from the Gods, those who awaken [mezameta]
    the power of the Gods [kami no ryoku] are called the term God-kin [jinin].
    Presently, there are two God-kin in the Theocracy. One is the Captain of the
    special military operation’s Black Scripture which Clementine used to belong
    to and the other is the Theocracy’s Head Priest [kuni no shinkan naga dearu]
    There ability was an order of magnitude different, and in the case they are
    adorned in the arms left behind by the Gods [kamigami no nokoshita bugu],
    it is said they are individuals that can wreck/destroy [horoboseru] the continent.
    But, still-
    Within the continent, Clementine could not predict what would happen if the
    small minority of God-kin fought against this monster which was up until recently
    in it’s ancient tomb.
    Monsters which are far stronger than the strength of humans can only be
    judged as strong so distinctions [become unclear]. It can only be perceived
    as being on a level stronger than their selves.[WN]

So there appears to be a link between bloodline and your level cap, but it's not guaranteed (see how Gondo didn't get close to the potential of his bloodline). Likewise, there is variation in the same bloodline too, based on Calca and Caspond as well as Kelart and Remedios.

    Remedios: The strongest paladin of the Holy Kingdom, but unfortunately, she is only the
    strongest in the Holy Kingdom, and not the strongest in the region. The first
    is someone in the Black Scripture. [V12AT]

    Kelart: As a pure priest, she is the most powerful in the region, outstripping her
    counterpart in Blue Rose.[V13 Kelart Character Sheet]

So Kelart outstripped not only Lakyus but even the Theocracy unlike her sister who was weaker than the Theocracy's best Paladin.

So there is a random chance of being super strong  if no one is strong in your family apparently. With Gondo we see bloodline alone is not enough as well though. It's certainly odd Laky's family got TWO Adamantite ranked people, both Zaryusu and Sharyusus are some of the strongest lizardmen, and the Custodio sisters are both Hero ranked. WN Clementine confirms the link to Players at least can buff you even if your not an Awakened Godkin. Based on the odds Maruyama stated in general, it is very unlikely it would happen in so many families with hero-ranked or Adamantite people if it was purely random.

The Ancestor Albino Theory  (someone Awakens is a very recessive trait but is more likely due to bloodline conditions) suggests the idea that you need certain conditions to Awaken. Krusch Awakened her "Elder Blood" but due to being in a small tribal environmnet there are more chances for inter marrying with fellow "Awakenable blood". This is not impossible, as Zaryusu and Krusch had a child who inherited Krusch's scales at least. It's unknonw if Zaryusu someone with a strong level cap (around Hero tier in the WN) also had ties to "Awakenable blood" since the Lizardmen had ancestors who could use Tier 6 magic and were related to DRagon Lords. Thus Zaryusu might have a strong bloodline. Its plausbile though he carries "Awakenable blood" from some powerful Lizardmen ancestor.

tl:dr "Awakenable blood " is a recessive gene that has better odds of manifesting if someone mates with others of "Awakenable blood". Rape King is trying to manifest someone who Awakens, but he failed so far to his knowledge as none of his children are as strong as he is. However, we the audience know his daughter Zesshi with the Awakened Godkin  of the past and she's surpassed her fellow Godkin at least (it's unknown if Rape King's Awakenable blood is superior to  the Theocracy's own Awakenable blood, but Rape King considered Zesshi's mother strong at least). Rape King being Rape King does have sufficient breeding experience so his view not having strong mother's is potentially part of the situation. In particular here is the "mother's blodo was too strong" part of the intermission.

    This time, there was a new book-original character. So it seems another one
    appears [ZN: connotation and thematic usage didn’t translate well from just
    another one or some variation], thus the New World’s Overlord appears.
    When she is present, there are relics of 5 Gods [ZN: hashira no
    soubi ], when she is not, there are only 4 relics of Gods
    Sooner or later you will understand how strong she is. Because she has the
    strongest of the top-ten Talents on the continent (identical talents can be shared/
    not counted twice).
    [ZN: Fluder, Arche, and Ninya’s teacher all had the same Talent. So if another
    person had the same Talent as Zesshi it would be counted as that Talent is the
    strongest, not the two of them have the strongest Talent taking up 1st and 2nd
    place. So the second strongest Talent would still be ranked 2nd, just there are
    two people with a stronger Talent than them in this hypothetical example.]
    However, I wonder if it was good to say there are only 3 god-kins?

    The Slaine Theocracy permitted the practice of polygamy as long as the nation
    sanctioned it. This was a practice which had been grandfathered from a time
    when bloodlines had to be kept pure due to a lack of powerful entities.[V4]

So some people cite how Zesshi is called a child born of near impossible odds as a sign she has Awakened her Rape King blood and her Godkin blood at the same time hence why she surpasses the Black Scripture Captain to the point she never lost to him or other Godkin before to satisfy her conditions for marriage etc. Clearly the Theocracy also has knowledge of how bloodlines need to be protected at least to keep them "pure". Is that purity though "Awakenable blood"? Well someone can Awaken blood from one parent at least so why not both? ... Or so the theory goes. It would explain the impossible odds mentioned by that one line (though Awakening could be harder if your race differs from your ancestor or something for all we know).

2.) Impossible odds means Zesshi Awakened both Godkin and Rape King blood which is quite rare
3.) Impossible odds means Zesshi AWakening as the first child between two parents is quite rare based on the baby making line
4.) Relates to her Talent

Based on Zesshi's strength where even another Godkin's level being low enough to ensure certain victory suggests it's not just odds of being born but also relates to strength. Maru calling her the New World's Overlrod makes her out to be really strong. And that line, how it would be good to say there are only 3 God-kin, does that factor in? Does Zesshi not quite count as a Godkin due to having elf blood or is it because the former Cardinal Godkin is not factored in? Or was it because Zesshi Awakened Rape King blood and thus is not only a Godkin but also whatever Rape King is?

    The offspring of the beings known as ”Players” were people who might awaken
    incredible power from within themselves. The Slaine Theocracy called these
    people demigods. Or, more precisely, they were the ones who carried the
    bloodline of the Six Gods within their veins. If they had the blood of others,
    they would be termed differently.
    It seemed very likely that this Momon was of the bloodline of a "Player".

Circumstantially, Zesshi is extremely pale and the Captain appears to have red eye so it's possible the Albino nature is one does not exhibit the phenotype of their New Worlder parents? Or maybe the trait is just as rare as Albino-ism naturally occurring but increases with those of "Awakenable blood"? It's hard to say.

Blood purity and the recessive gene would match up with how Rape King can't get offspring to Awaken as strong as he can. And like WN Clementine said, there are differences in blood purity as well as how strong you get from a "Awakenable blood" ancestor. So if Rape King does have "Awakenable blood" AND it's Player blood, it would make sense why he and Zesshi's mom had an Awakened child since they were both "Awakenable blood" holders and had the "Albinoism" or purer YGGDARSIL type blood or however you want to think about it. Thus it was more likely for this condition of Awakening to be inherited. Now Evileye's line of how having different Player blood would mean you are called something else besides Godkin would explain why Zesshi or at least one of the Godkin do not quite count as a normal Godkin assuming that line applies to Zesshi.

For now, Awakening appears to be related to blood purity, strong mates, and recessive genes.

So there is something secret here Maru doesn't want to reveal about Normal classes. What he didn't redact shows the
number of Normal classes is significant. When speaking of why the Homunculi maids can do what they can (flavor text
or programming?) or pretty much non stat based abilities, somehow is related to Normal classes.

Here we can make some inferences.

First, Tsuare spent years as a sex slave and 4 more months in absolute hell.

So despite Tsuare's expereince, all those months led to only two slave levels, compared to Calca who reached Tier 4 at 15 and Lakyus who reached Tier 5 at 19. Hence, why the theory was suggested that Normal or General classes follow the Sword World rules less than D&D. That is each level is gained based on amounts of experience. See the other notes. The more levels of these are held, the more benefits to that type of work.

The main theory is Normal classes relate to aspects that can influenced by flavor text in terms of buffs.

flavor text, Albedo's are actually readable and we are told Demiurge got his
craftsmen ship from his flavor text.

So why in the fuck does this matter?

Well if flavor text conferred these abilities, if you can alter flavor text...
you can buff people with flavor text buffs.

Assuming the Normal classes are just like Sword World, that means the ones that
count for flavor text buffs (you can't put "Is greatest Magic caster and has all spells").

If the Maids can achieve such skill with no classes, means others can as well and naturally
Normal classes don't actually need to be around to be skilled, since they are more
complimentary based on what Maru has said.

There is a type of class called General, but holders are not endowed with combat
ability at the drop of a hat, rather it’s a class which a person potentially
acquires during their livelihood.
Skilled craftsmen are talented well, because their General class is high.
But General classes are weak/frail classes.
For example, a Lv. 8 Emperor is not endowed with combat ability equal to a
Lv. 8 soldier in comparison.

CZ possessed knowledge on all of Nazarick’s mechanisms. That was too dangerous,
and she would not be able to leave Nazarick like this, Therefore he had
used [Control Amnesia] to edit her memories.
CZ’s knowledge of those mechanisms had been part of the backstory her creator
ator had made for her. While he did not know if the spell could work on such
things, after manipulating her, he found that the spell had worked as intended.
That was a technique Ainz had developed after repeated experiments on a lab
rat he had obtained. It felt like he could do incredible things once he mastered
it.
The reason for that was because Ainz had the feeling he might be able to access
the core of the NPCs. What exactly were the NPC backstories, the origin of
their memories? Still, that was ultimately the product of Ainz’s imagination,
and it was very likely that they were completely unrelated. If he wanted to
sort that out, he would need to further understand the spell, and understand
everything to do with the human memory. In that case, he would need a lot
of lab rats and decades to practice and research with, as well as preparing
himself for the possibility that it might all be a waste of time. [V13]

It's not head canon that Ainz with Control Amnesia can at least influence the link
between memory and Flavor text, if only blocking for now. As he changed what Gods
Roberdyck believed in, it's not impossible he can attempt to do so later. He may
require the Guild Weapon though equipped to actually change it. Or maybe because
they are NPCs he can't do it to them but possibly New Worlders since the rules
differ. Either way, now you can see what this passage may be connected to
and how Nazarick can be strengthened.

There are dozens of these classes but for now the ones that exist in Overlord
are Farmer, Noble, High Noble, Emperor, Servant, Slave, Maid, and some hinted
at with only descriptions(High Class Prostitute, Painter). If Ainz can buff
people with this remains to be seen of course. But it's interesting to see how
flavor text actually affects people and the New World equivalent.

The best example of this is Jircniv and Pe Riyuro who are described as born
rulers etc.

After discovering an abandoned dwarven city, he gathered the clans there and
formed monster-fighting units, using Dwarven prisoners to develop agriculture
and animal husbandry.
That was not all. Usually, when a new clan leader was born, he would exterminate
the bloodline of the previous clan leader. This was the commonlyaccepted
means by which power was exchanged within the Quagoa people.
However, Riyuro did not do that. Instead, he chose to let the leaders of the various
clans rule themselves. However, Riyuro ordered all the ores to be brought
to him. Those who obeyed Riyuro and performed well would be given rare
ores, regardless of their status.
For instance, those clans that defeated monster invasions would be known
as brave, while those clans that found more gold or precious stones would
gain favor and more members. He would reward them for their work with the
appropriate ores.
Their competition against their lord turned into competition with each other,
and the Lord’s seat was secure.
He had done all these things which no Quagoa had even dreamed of to expand
his influence and to set into motion a certain plan.

Although the Lord to which he had pledged his loyalty cast his suspicions upon
him, Yozu’s heart was filled with nothing but respect.
If he were in Riyuro’s place, he might not have thought so deeply into the issue.
Yozu firmly believed that Riyuro was the true Lord of the Quagoa, and his loyalty
deepened ever further.

doesn't mean you get a Noble (Normal) class. Furthermore, the
great leaders among their people get classes related to being a
leader or have charisma or both. Jircniv being called a monster
in the rulership rankings reflects how he not only has Emperor
but also High Emperor and Charisma on his sheet.

Renner contrasts this by having only Princess and Actress.
Sage is relevant because it shows that people can have it if
they work toward some revolutionary idea in Zaryusu's case or
in their domains in Raeven's case.

This alongside Tsuare's case of only having 2 Slave levels despite
all the years she was in that situation shows it's not easy to get
these levels by grinding them out compared to Calca and Lakyus' case.
Pe Riyuro likewise is also only got 2 Emperor levels despite ruling the
clans for some time.

All this further supports the Sword World level scaling for Normal classes
isn't based on EXP but instead based on dedication and experience in that
given field and several years only gets you to Level 2, several months to Level 1
(Tsuare is the source for these two as Pleiades Days tells us it too k about
half a year of being worked by the maids to get 1 Level). Enri only having one Farmer
level at 15 even further backs that up, that is reaching Level 2 is not easy.

craftsmen ship for weird shit can begin to shed light on how flavor text buffs and
Normal classes relate.

    Basically 500 years ago, the world’s laws of magic were greatly warped. Monsters were born able to acquire Tier magic. Yes, such a thing happened.

How this is done is still unclear. Some think Wish was used at a great MP cost. Some think a World Item like Ouroborous or 5 Element Progression. So no matter what, some creatures began to naturally develop Tier Magic afterward. Now you should be aware that naturally acquiring Tier Magic doesn't make them full blown casters necessarily. Hamsuke naturally acquired Magic as well, having up to Tier 4 but due to lacking proper Magical Job Classes or Racial Equivalent classes (like a classes Ainz has that count as Racial but also Magical Job classes) they are quite weak.

    Charm Person is a spell for humans, but there are spells to charm nonhuman species as well; for example, one effective use is charming horses so they buck off their knights. The Wise King of the Forest (AKA Hamsuke) has the spell Charm Species that works on any species. This is a tangent, but Charm Species is a 4th Tier spell. The thing is, Hamsuke’s level as a wizard is practically zero, so it’s not very hard to resist. Hamsuke primarily used it for hunting prey in the forest. In other words, normal animals just have low mental resistance.

According to scholars in the New World, Tier Magic is non native as well so it would be correct to say Dragons before Players came were unable to use it by virtue of it not existing at the time.

Whatever this event was 500 years ago, and supposing Maru hasn't changed it, suggests the Eight Greed Kings were the ones to bring about Tier Magic naturally among the populace of all species. Now if they did this to weaken the Dragon Lords during the war, did it to give the weak races a means to fight stronger ones in that period when there were more stronger races around, or some other matter is up to debate. There's evidence for both sides of thinking and it partly depends on HOW they did it as well.

People in the New World did not start using Tier Magic because it was easier to use than Wild Magic. Wild Magic appears to be racially locked to those related to Dragon Lords. The Draconic Queen is able to use Wild Magic and many people assume: Dragon Lord blood = Wild Magic usage. However, this is apparently not the case.

    There are many types of Talents, from things like predicting the next day’s weather with 70% accuracy to being able to speed up the harvest times of grass type grains by a couple of days or using the magic of the dragons who once ruled this world. These types of abilities are 􀏐ixed at birth– it’s not possible to select or change powers later in life. That means that sometimes Talents don’t match the natures of the holders. For example, if someone is born with the Talent to boost the destructive power of spells but doesn’t have the inclination , ability, or physical strength necessary to become a caster, then they can’t make good use of their Talent.

    This girl was the Queen of the Draconic Kingdom, the Black Scale Dragon Lord, Draudiron Oriuclus. She had the title of Dragon Lord, but her combat power was only that of a regular person. While the Theocracy classified her as a true Dragon Lord, that was simply

due to her inborn talents, and so some people used the very rare

title of True False Dragon Lord to describe her.

    That was because the quality which determined her truth or falsehood was whether or not she could use Wild Magic.

This isn't made very clear in the old translation, but it's highly hinted Draudiron is only able to use Wild Magic as a human is due to a being a Talent holder and not just because her Dragon Blood. The WN made this far clearer.

    In the WN when Jircniv is thinking about Talents in general like Fluder’s that can see magical prowess, he contemplates about how they range from weak to strong. To his own knowledge the one worth being labeled Legendary-class would be the princess [oujo] of a small country’s [shoukoku] whose Talent to use the lost secret of the dragons [doragon no ushinawareta hiou]. As a digression WN Talents were called ’special/unique abilities’ [tokushu nouryoku]. Oujo is usually read as Princess but interpreted literally for each individual kanji it can also mean ’female ruler’. Holy Queen uses the same Kanji.

In Volume 2 the Sunlight Scripture who appears to have assisted the Draconic Kingdom when tortured told Ainz such a Talent exists.

So that begs to question: Can Draudiron use Wild Magic just because of her Talent then? Or is it only usable due to having some Draconic blood like the Volume 2 lines suggests, that is you need to have right body characteristics sometimes or the Talent is useless. Nfirea's Talent bypasses all notions of class restrictiosn so it's not wrong to think that Draudrion's can as well. However, the way she speaks of the Talent, it appears controlling or using that Talent well seems to be linked to her Dragon heritage as well.

Only Draudiron in her family of human descendants of BDL is confirmed to be able to use Wild Magic. Fluder suggests that it is because of her True Dragon Lord bloodline she can even use that magc, so it may indeed be the case where you need a link to a Wild Magic user to even use the Wild Magic Talent at all, much like how Nigun's Talent related only to Summoning Monsters or Ninya's was for Learning Magic, if you don't have the magical aptitude you can't use those abilites at all.

    I thought people in NW started to use Tier Magic because it was easier to learn and overall better than Wild Magic.

Well I think that's a misconception. Wild Magic isn't comparable to Tier Magic in terms of DPS or something. Wild Magic is capable of things Tier Magic isn't for example so evaluating it's worth is difficult. It can in the past resurrect others at no EXP drain for example, the one time we saw offensive Wild Magic in the WN Bad End story, it bypassed flame resistance and was quite devastating, and an item made by Wild Magic can circumvent YGGDRASIL limits and cannot be evaluated in terms of YGGDRASIL value at all.

    Lets say a sacred treasure is 150,000 and a World Item is 530,000. Then what about the Treasure of the Dragons? The answer is option A. Because it was created by Wild Magic, it is wrong to assign Yggdrasil values to it. Gazef’s ring allows a warrior’s level to rise, but if Cocyutus had it, he would go over Lv. 100.

Frankly I think you have been confused by Wild Magic in general. It is the native magic of this world, the New World, but it was not universal it seems.

There are several instances of this:

1.) When the Theocracy speaks of Draudiron as a True Dragon Lord, they don't make an issue she's human, but the only defining characteristic is if she can or cannot use Wild Magic.

2.) Nigun speaks of things made by the Dragon Lords as outside common sense of this world, like YGGDRASIL items. However, he speaks of how Dragon Lords the strongest Dragons made these items in particular and doesn't mention them coming from others like other races. If Wild MAgic was truly universal he likely woudln't have labeled magic items made by Dragon Lords (this is all but synonmous with Wild Magic items based on the context and how PDL describes the Wild MAgic ring) to be pretty much dragon exclusive.

Personally, I think WIld Magic is more than just Dragon Exclusive myself and is even rarer than just Dragon Lords or old pre 8GK Dragons.

Basically, it's a theory that states Wild Magic is Dragon Lord exclusive or TRUE Dragon Lord only. Now that may seem like semantics, but first we see with the Volume 11 "Dragon Lord" that strong dragons tend to call themselves Dragon Lords. However, even in Aggrande which has 5 Dragon councillors, the only Wild Magic user among them is PDL, while the other titled Dragon Lords are not supposedly, and rather one of them uses Tier Magic instead.

So this "True Dragon Lord" is not some weird special ability moniker. Rather, the difference betweena Dragon Lord and a True Dragon Lord is existence of the Lord racial class.

We know that New World being can have a INSERT RACE NAME LORD (Racial class). And we know that it makes them different from their race in various ways like Pe Riyuro in Volume 11, Buser in Volume 12, or Beebeezee in Volume 13 who are described to differ from their peers in various ways. In addition, Pe Riyuro got some kind of ability when he became Lord while Beebeezee as the royalty in his race suggests, was male because he was born a Zern Lord.

So the theories goes, Wild Magic users or True Dragon Lrods are those Draogns that possess the actual DRAGON LORD (Racial Class) and not just a dragon that calls itself lord. Hence why the Theocracy bothers to call them True Dragon Lords in the first place, ie they have some knowledge that there is a subset of Dragon Lords that are actual Wild Magic users. The whole TRUE part seems to be they actualy have it as a class, at least according to the theory.

This whole hint by Maru of "Dragon Exclusive classes" being linked to Wild Magic further reinforces this, as a DRAGON LORD (Racial class) would of course be dragon exclusive just like QUGOA LORD, BAFOLK LORD, ZERN LORD. With these three lords we know that the INSERT RACIAL CLASS LORD appears to crop up in both DemiHumans and in Heterormorphs so it's not farfetched to think Dragons may have one as well, especially based on how they appear the strongest of their race and are notably distinct in various ways to their fellows in various ways. As Qugoa appear to be a New World only race and YGGDRASIL did not have a Dragon racial class, this is further supported, although circumstantially.

So in summation, this theory is Wild Magic is racially locked to Dragons and class locked to DRAGON LORD (racial class) which only the strongest of the race can get.

When Tier Magic was first usable was debatable, but it seems YGGDRASIL Players were always able to use it at least. If people could learn it before 500 years ago is still unclear. People may not have had the ability to learn Tier Magic IE had the potential at all back then. So like how Evileye says Climb has no ability in terms of Arcane potential. About the only countries taht can tell us if this was true or not are the Theocracy, and maybe the Elf Kingdom or Draconic Kingdom who are not said to be only 200 years old unlike the rest.

So the 6GG may have been or been unable to teach Tier Magic manually to people in that 600-500 year window, but we can't say for sure yet. Basically, we don't know if you could learn Magic before thsi 500 years ago "monsters began to be born with Tier Magic" event.

The Empire Academy seems to teach that Tier Magic originates from 500 years ago at least.

We know very little what the corruption of Wild Magic PDL brings up actually entails. Most people think that Wild Magic was changed when Tier Magic came, people thinking using Souls means it's EXP based now or osmething. I think it's still vague, but part of it stems from how Dragons can now use Tier MAgic, so unlike every other race, we have to hear how having both magics at once may change matters. Maybe the Draconic Kingdom royal family can give hints of this from things Brightness Dragon Lord said. No matter what, dragons seem to acquire Job classes rather than Racial classes, and from Pe Riyuro's class levels, maybe not focusing on Racial Classes during the growth stages prevents you from being able to acquire the INSERT RACIAL CLASS LORD class all together. Or maybe you have to be born with it. Or it's a mixture of both. It's hard to say for now based off how little we do know.

Random Trivia: Dragon Lords and Wild Magic seem to not come from D&D but from Record of Lodoss War. Mainly the God Killing Dragons. In that universe, the dragons fought godlike beings and won a grueling war using very special abilities distinct from modern magic. Now though, the strongest dragons around are said to be far weaker than the dragons of the past and there may be only one left sleeping somewhere...

This is a little more obvious in Japanese as in that series jsut like in Overlord, Dragon Lord is written as "Dragon King" just like in Overlord's writing, but both series put the proper pronounciation as "Duragon Lordu" next to the kanji.

That's pretty much a Spark Notes of what I posted. The [Dragon Lord] racial level is only a theory that I like, it's not confirmed as of yet beyond that one hint from the author suggesting that there is a Special Class related to Wild Magic in some capacity. I think based off what we have learned and the mechanics of the New World I think it's a plausible hypothesis and makes the most sense.

    WM seems to be better than TM in terms of the effects it has (resurection without lvl loss or bypassing immunities)

One thing I would say is that I don't think Tier Magic and Wild Magic are not inherently superior in all aspects so that one is clearly superior. So I don't think Wild Magic is better than Tier Magic. Just different.

Mainly, Tier MAgic is still bound by game logic, but Wild Magic doesn't necessarily need to obey some contrived balancing decisions originally at least. So in terms of resurrection it appears Wild Magic is superior to most YGGDRASIL resurrection spells since most have various EXP costs. However, we don't know the full logistics of casting that Wild Magic spell, so maybe you need a shit ton of souls to cast it or something. The point is they can accomplish different things in different ways and in some respects one may be better than the other, but the other may have it's own merits.

We know Tier Magic is pretty universal, but from what we know about Wild Magic it doesn't conform to YGGDRASIL norms in certain respects (ignoring fire resistance some how, bypassing level limits, etc). We know Draudrion claimed to need souls to fuel her Wild Magic, but the sheer cost of it may be like she claims beyond the ability of her human body. So you can interpret that not all Wild Magic users needed mass sacrifices as she did to begin with, since her case is very special due to the Talent implication, I'm not sure you could argue one is clearly superior until we learn more.

Well, for the Wild Magic items, I think they are less comparable in terms of quality more than they just defy the norms of magic items int his world in general at least according to Nigun, someone who works for one of the oldest nations in this region and has knowledge of Player gear to some extent at least. Wild Magic is comparable to 6GG and 8GK items in terms of their sheer common sense shattering I feel more than being directly comparable (YGGDRASIL gear can have some absurd stats if you think Adamantite is around the strongest metal they have but it's shit in YGGDRASIL).

I don't know about you, but when Maru says classes have something to do with Wild Magic, I'm pretty sure a Wild Magic Talent is more a RNG way to get Wild Magic and not the normal way at all in comparison. True Dragon Lords appear to get Wild Magic normally through these Dragon exclusive classes. Now if after the world was polluted by whatever in the world polluted it, and Dragon's have trouble learning Wild Magic now is a different matter. Personally, I do think them gaining Tier Magic passively is worth considering, but it doesn't inherently suggest Wild Magic is impossible to learn, since Dragons can choose to learn Job classes rather than their Racial path. Perhaps the corruption is the YGGDRASIL level system in general? So by virtue of having Job classes available to them, Dragons tend to now go the Job class route rather than going pure Racial levels and thus lose out on learning Wild Magic? Maybe early on they waste the chance to learn all the growth stage Racial Levels, and thus are permamently barred from learning Wild Magic since those are a prerequiste? We know from Zaryusus you don't have to automatically acquire racial levels in comparison to Zeneberu. And perhaps you only gain Racail Levels by doing things related to natural racail abilites, and thus by using Tier Magic or Job classes they lose out on the ability to learn those Racial Classes?

There are MANY possible theories as to what this corruption is. I'd wait for the Agrande or Draonic Arc where we have more information from people who have had or do have a True Draogn Lrod around and can talk about the world before Players AND OR how modern born dragons are not learning Wild Magic.

    How does Nigun know about wild magic, then? The only possibility is that they contacted Draudillon with this theory.

Well, is it really so hard for people to know Draudillon has Wild Magic? In the WN, Jircniv knows she has this Talent for example. Likewise, would the Draconic Kingdom try to hide that Draudillon can use Wild Magic in the first place? It feels to me that they would publicly announce it to strengthen her hold over the throne since she can actually use the magic her great grandfather who founded the nation can in some kind of PR move in my opinion. We don't know how publicly known her Talent is, but Draudillon mentions it's the Theocracy, not just Nigun or a Scripture that knows it, to the point she does bear a Black Scale Dragon Lord title.

Nigun's Sunlight Scripture are just the ones who revealed that Talent to Ainz exists. And we know the Sunlight Scripture has in the past gone to her Kingdom, so it's not far fetched to think they learned of it from someone in the Theocracy.

I think it's far mroe likely that just like Nfirea or Lakyus, famous people who have a Talent that is notable are just commonly known (RIP us ever learnign about Lakyus' Talent though). And politically, it makes for good propaganda to publicly announce Draudillon's Talent BECAUSE she is not only related to a True Dragon Lord but it's also a strong deterrent to people due to it's mysteries compared to even normal magic.

If you choose to ignore that all, I would still trust Fluder over a Wild Magic Talent Theory:

Of course we know as the audience Draudillon mainly can use Wild Magic due to her Talent, and she only ever mentions that her Great Grandfather taught her about it and not any other relative so it's not purely blood inheritance.

While the Theocracy classified her as a true Dragon Lord, that was simply due to her inborn talents, and so some people used the very rare title of True False Dragon Lord to describe her. That was because the quality which determined her truth or falsehood was whether or not she could use Wild Magic.

Though Fluder appears to be wrong about just the blood flowing hypothesis, I do not think he is completely wrong. Mainly, he's lived for about 250 years approximatley. Surely he would have rushed to someone who had Wild Magic and if Talents are truly RNG there should have been someone around who was known for having it. But he says that it's because of that Dragon Blood Draudillon can use Wild Magic. So I'm of the opinon that some people can be born with the Wild Magic talent, BUT and this is a big BUT, like Ainz alludes to in Volume 2, it cannot be used without the right physical characteristics (need Dragon Blood or True Dragon Blood for example).

    However, all of these were inborn abilities, which could not be chosen or changed. It was quite common to encounter situations where these abilities could not be applied. If someone was born with a talent that could improve the destructive power of their magic, but they never had the chance to become a magic caster, then their talent would be useless.

That's just a hypothesis in the last part, but it would explain why Fluder thinks Dragon Lord blood is necessary to harness that Talent. And based off what Maruyama said, Dragon Exclusive classes have something to do with Wild Magic, further explaining why it is Racially linked to Dragons.

In conclusion, Wild Magic is not a talent that only dragon lords have. There are other possibility for Nigun and Sunlight Scripture members to know that Draudillon has Wild Magic besides it only being gained through a Talent (1. Draconic Kingdom publicly uses Draudillon's Talent to tighten her political power base in a nation founded by a True Dragon Lord, deter enemy nations with magic knowledge, and likewise give peace of mind to her subjects knowing Wild Magic can be used to protect them), 2.) the Theocracy has sent aid to the Draconic Kingdom in the past and they have given her a True Dragon Lord name, Black Scale Dragon Lord which suggests the nation higher ups know as well as well as the Sunlight Scripture at least (and most likely the Black Scripture since they know more intel than even the Sunlight Scripture like Godkin and the Catastrophe Dragon Lord while Nigun's men were not allowed to know this), 3. the fact a True False Dragon Lord title exists suggests that although rare, it is not unique so there may be cases of Draudillon's situation occurring in the past (someone has the Wild Magic Talent and they were known to have it).

The circumstances that made the ring are unknown. Just that it would be hard to remake.

True Dragon Lord - A Dragon that has acquired the dragon exclusive Classes related to Wild Magic

True False Dragon Lord - The name for those born with the ability to use Wild Magic, namely by a Talent but if they can activate that ability remains in doubt and a pedigree connected to Dragons is suggested for why they can use it.

Personally, I feel you need some kind of Draconic ancestry to use Wild MAgic even with the Talent because it's originally racially linked and not something that any old Dragon Lord can learn when they want, suggesting that a certain amount of strength is usually required to even use it, compared to how New Worlder's can use level restricted Job classes like Cursed Knight and Ninja though. Therefore, just like how certain Talents related to Tier Magic are useless if you can't use Magic or never had the ability to learn it, so too do I think Wild Magic as a Talent is useless without either a strong enough body or draconic blood or both.

(A popular theory is that Wild Magic got converted to some kind of EXP related ability after the "corruption" of the New World. When people see Greed and Generosity suck up souls in the WN, they think they are seeing souls being sucked up. Likewise, the reason dragons seem to have to be very high leveled to get Wild Magic since Dragons Lords weaker than PDL haven't acquired it yet can mean that its possible that a strong body is required to control it or use it. So IE a high level means that if it's EXP based, the cost wouldn't be a million souls for a strong effect like for Draudillon, but far lower if you had the class required for it and a higher EXP pool to draw from like a True Draogn Lord or Ainz).

Now I personally don't know if a strong body is all you would need, but an ability being stronger or easier to use because you have classes related to it is pretty normal in the New World at least (Farmer pretty mcuh makes it easier to farm in various ways and each additonal level gives you perks related to having an easier time).

    Farmer level 1: Choose one out of 15 options of Farmer benefits & speed of plowing the earth + 5% increase (passive)

    Farmer level 2: Harvest of agricultural products + 5% increase (passive)

And Farmer is a confirmed New World only class by virtue of being a (Normal) class. So the "Wild Magic Classes Make Wild Magic Easier To Use" theory certainly seems plausible to me at least. If it needs lots of EXP though... That I'm skeptical about. It makes sense, but we just know too little about Wild Magic. Like PDL's Nuke may cost a million souls or say 1,000,000 EXP since most humans have little eXP value, but maybe not every person's soul has the same value? Maybe Dragon Lords sacrifice part of their own EXP or soul ro whatever the hell it actually is to cast, and Draudillion being too weak has to use external EXP or a souls instead. Mabye having no Wild Magic classes makes it cost more in general.

I'm not sure at this point. We have to wait for a True Dragon Lord fight or the Draconic Kingdom arc for more details.

    Is the Frost Dragon Lord referred to with different Characters to PDL or anything like that which may indicate he isn't a true Dragon Lord?

The different between True Dragon Lords is not represented with different kanji or kana. However, there are certainly differences in classification. The Theocracy has there's to distinguish between True Dragon Lords and regular Dragon Lords. For them it's Wild Magic, but this isn't the only distinguishing factor, as for members of the Black Scripture, Dragon Lords are things their Captain can beat, but True Dragon Lords are classified higher. Based off how the author also gave that statement about all the Pleiades not being able to take one, I think it's fair to say that True Dragon Lords are noticably far superior to regular Draogn Lords.

Look to the Agrande Council if you need this point verified. Blue Sky Draogn Lords is a known caster of Divine Magic, Tier 5 in the WN at least, and she is one of the councillors. Yet when the Cardinals speak of fear of Agrande, they state it's Platinum Dragon Lord as being the main threat due to his strength.

    Dragons slowly gained the ability to use arcane magic during their maturation, but those were little more than innate abilities. They could not be compared to magic casters at all. However, there were some Dragons who had learned to use actual magic. For example, there was one of Olasird’arc’s own concubines, Kilystran=Denshushua.

There was also one of the Republic’s Councillors, the "Blue Sky Dragon Lord"

Suveria=Myronsilk, who had the powers of a druid and could use divine magic. It was also said that in the far east, there were Dragons who had attained the Paladin class and who could use magic from other systems.

    However, the common folk would shout for war with the Republic in order to destroy the enemies of mankind. That would be disastrous. The Republic was very strong.

To be precise, the danger lay with one of the councillors of the Republic, the

Platinum Dragon Lord, child of the Dragon Emperor.

The Cardinals make no attempt to think label the other 4 to 6 Dragon Lords as threats to them. IE a nation with Player gear and at least two Godkin they can mobilize with said gear. We learn at least in the WN that only PDL can use Wild Magic among the 5 listed there at least. But Maru could have added more to Agrande like he added Zesshi to the LN canon only. Based off the Cardinals though, I don't think those possible new Dragon Lords are on par with PDL as well. For example:

When Rigrit asks PDL to ask other "Dragon Lords", he makes no mention of his fellow councillors at all. In additon, he only lists TRUE Dragon Lords, as Maruyama confirmed all of the named ones as True Draogn Lords.

So I believe personally White Dragon Lord or Frost Dragon Lord was full of shit when he called himself a Dragon Lord. He was just the first dragon in that region to reach Ancient and thought he was special.

    By the way, Olsaird’arc has reached the highest growth stage of dragons. Were there any stages beyond that in this world?

I think there may be a growth stage beyond Ancient. In D&D this was Wyrm or Great Wyrm. That's not to say Overlord will have that. Overlord's New World Dragons draw from Record of Lodoss War's God Killing Dragons who are way way way superior to Ancient Dragons in that setting, since Maru stole not only the kanji and kana for their names, (Ryuuou and you are supposed to read it as Dragon Lord).

So using the Theocracy's defintion of a True Dragon Lord, White Dragon Lord had no one say he could use Wild Magic.

Now use Maru's level determinator from Volume 5+6 Author THoughts. Can Frost Dragon Lord potentially take ALL the Pleiades?

Think about it.

There's no way. Look at his stat sheet. He's got about the same stats as Shizu alone, and she's the WEAKEST. No way he can take all 6 together. Maybe he can cheese Yuri out, but she's a zombie so there goes his frost spam from the sky...

In conclusion, I think it's fairly easy to say that Frost Dragon Lord cannot possibly be a True Dragon Lord.

In the WN we know that PDL was able to sense the activation of Super Tier magic and how scary it is due to his memories of the 8GKs, but FDL makes no indication he was aware something extremely strong from his past was around. NOt the most supported point.

Beings made by Tier Magic or skills are not beings of the New World or just YGGDRASIL but a weird mixture of both. Created undead do not have the Spiral of Death property while naturally occuring undead do by virtue of being different "frames" like Enri's Goblins are different from New World goblins in their need to eat but lack of aging.

Natural genesis not undead pops. The rule is supposed to be that undead spawn around other undead in the Spiral of Death. In Katze we know Skeletal Dragons and Death Knights naturally spawned, but Nazarick and the Sorcerous Kingdom haven't had any non Pop spawn that we know of.

So the theory I proposed was it's based on natural undead vs summoned undead. Hence why the Empire's experiment failed to naturally spawn undead since they used Tier Magic to create undead from dead people.

reddish-black light. Tormented faces occasionally coalesced out of the roiling
light, and then they crumbled and vanished again. They looked so realistic
one could almost imagine them wailing in agony.

Momonga let go of the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown.
The staff did not fall onto the ground, but floated in the air as though someone
were still holding it. This was in complete defiance of physics, but it was a
common sight in the game. There were quite a few items in YGGDRASIL which

The aura of tormented spirits seemed to cling to Momonga’s hand as he let
the staff go, but Momonga paid it no heed. He was long since used to that
sight …or not. Thinking that the macro command would have already been
built in, Momonga snapped his fingers and deactivated the aura.

"—Power?"
He opened his left hand and gripped the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown that sailed
into his grasp.
"Overwhelming power?"
The seven gems set into the staff gleamed brightly, as though imploring their
master to use their colossal might.
"...Forget it, I’ll take my time to think about that later."
Momonga released the staff he held, and the wavering staff fell to the ground
as though it were angry at him.

Momonga gripped the floating staff in his hand.
Just like before, when he used the power of the ring, he focused on the staff.
Among the many powers it possessed, Momonga concentrated on one of the
gems which decorated the staff.
It was a divine class item called the Gem of the Moon, and the ability Momonga
chose—

Momonga raised the Staff, and it immediately radiated a beautiful glow which
lit up its surroundings. The glow was as blinding as the Staff itself. However,
the surroundings were filled with inauspicious flickering shadows, which emitted
an aura of menace.
Momonga’s voice was more animated and proud when he spoke:
"The seven gems in the Staff’s snake mouths are all divine class artifacts. Since
they all belong to a set, having them together unlocks even greater power beyond
their base abilities. Gathering them all required an incalculable amount
of time and effort, and many of our members stated that they wanted to quit
during the process. I can’t remember how many monsters we farmed for their
drops …anyway, in addition, the Staff’s power is beyond that of a divine class
item. In fact, it almost approaches that of a World Class Item. Its most potent

The numberless powers within the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown seemed to be begging
Momonga to unleash them.
Right now, he needed a flashy spell.
"[Summon Primal Fire Elemental]."
In accordance with Momonga’s will, the Orb of Fire grasped within one of the
Staff’s snake mouths pulsed with puissance. Momonga could feel the movement
of a mighty, invisible power and thrust the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown forth.
A vast ball of light bloomed from the tip of the Staff, and a vortex of roaring
flame spilled forth from that globe of radiance.

The Guardians, no, every entity created by the Supreme Beings wanted nothing
more than to aid their creators in some way. The next best thing would be
to receive their trust and to be treated as useful servants.

Narberal the NPC knew far fewer spells than Ainz, and most of them were

The red points of light which served as Ainz’s eyes lit up.

The Orb of Death was an impressive name, but it was hardly outstanding.
It aided in controlling the undead, and it could cast several different necromantic
spells every day, but none of those appealed to Ainz. It also had the drawback
of mentally dominating humans who held it, although Ainz and Narberal
who possessed defenses against mind-affecting effects were immune, as
were demihumans or heteromorphic creatures.
"What a strange item …"
The only thing which intrigued him was the fact that it was an intelligent magic
item.
Ainz poked it lightly, and just as he was about to command it to speak, there
was a voice in his head.
"Greetings to you, oh mighty King of Death."
"You have my deepest thanks, mighty King of Death."
This reaction reminded Ainz of the loyal NPCs of Nazarick, and he chuckled.
"Please accept the utmost respect of this one for the absolute aura of Death
which surrounds you."
I should have dispelled all my auras. Why does this item keep calling me the King
of Death?
"I shall permit it."
"My deepest thanks, oh Supreme Overlord of Death. I am deeply grateful to
all the forms of death which exist within this world that I could encounter an
exalted being like yourself."
Though the Orb was laying it on a bit thick, those words seemed sincere enough.
It made Ainz’s back itch a little, so he thrust his chest forward and said:
"And? Can you speak anything besides flattery?"
"Yes. This one deeply apologizes for this thoughtless request, but this one has
a wish that it hopes you will help to grant."
"What wish?"
"Yes. This one has always felt that it had come to this world in order to spread
death, but after meeting a mighty King of Death like yourself, this one realised
that it had been truly born in order to serve you."
"Oh mighty King of Death, please accept this one’s fealty. This one hopes to
have a place among your faithful servants."
It sounded sincere enough, and if it had a head, it would probably have been
lowered. Ainz pressed his knuckles to his mouth and began thinking. He had
to consider the merits and demerits of taking it as a minion, whether it was
reliable, and so on.
Ainz examined the magic item again. For safety’s sake, he should probably
destroy it. However, something like this did not exist in YGGDRASIL, so destroying
it would be a waste.
After casting several protective spells on the Orb, Ainz called out to the giant
hamster that had entered the chapel.

Several people faced Narberal with envious gazes. The one with the
strongest was Shalltear, and the weakest one was Aura.

to do, I should first place this in the treasury.”

Ainz felt that the flattery was excessive, as if a sudden itch appeared at
his back, he straightened his back.
“Other than this, what else do you have to say?”
—Yes, this one regrets its own blasphemous outburst. Please I beseech
the great one to help this one achieve its dreams.
“What is the matter?”
—Yes, all this while, this one thought that spreading death in this world
was the sole purpose for this ones existence. However, after meeting thy,
the Supreme King of Death, this one was enlightened.

—I was born into this world to serve you.

—O’ Great King of Death, please receive this ones pledge of fealty. For
this one hopes to be one of thine loyal subjects. Please grant me a place
at your side.
If the pearl possessed a head, it would be bowing now. It sounded serious
with its request. Ainz placed his left fist by the side of his mouth as he
began to think. The pros and cons of accepting him as a subordinate,
and whether itself could be trusted.
With her tension released, Narberal immersed herself in that happy
memory of being praised. One of her hands was holding onto a throbbing
pearl.
—Narberal-sama, for not knowing your loyalty towards such a great
person, please forgive this one for his previous ranting.
Narberal was slightly uneased by the pearl, which repeatedly praised
Ainz after it regain its self-semblance. However, that unease disappeared
as it came.
“Well, if you did not grasp the greatness of Ainz-sama, take a look, left
and right in order to understand your surroundings.
—Truly grateful.
Narberal was overlooking the pearl on her hand. She was trying to figure
out where to put the pearl in terms of hierarchy within Nazarick.
Ainz did not say anything on this. Was it ok to place him at a position
similar to someone directly created by the 41 Supreme Beings? This was
a rather tough question. Now then, who should she ask for guidance.
—Narberal-sama, as a servant to the great Ainz-sama, please use me. I
will be in your care.
“Understood, then I shall enlighten you about the hierarchy within
Nazarick itself.

The armor radiated a faint magical aura. It was one of the Four Treasures —
the White Dragon Bone.
This armor was made from the cold-infused bones of the Frost Dragons which
laired within the Azellisian Mountain Range. Of course, armor made of mere
bones —even the bones of powerful beings like Dragons —could not possibly
be magical. Yet, somewhere along the line, that suit of armor had taken on
magical properties.
The problem now was that said properties might have been the result of a
curse.
That was because the White Dragon Bone converted intellect into defensive
strength. If an intelligent person put it on, it would become harder than steel
—it might even be able to rival the strength of mithril, or the legendary metal
adamantite.
However, the lost intelligence would not return even if the armor was removed.
That was why the legends surrounding that item said it was cursed.

Dancing weapons moved in accordance with their masters’ will. However,
when their master was involved in a fight for their life, it was very difficult
to order a weapon that one was not holding and which was in a completely
different location to attack an opponent, unless there was a tremendous difference
in fighting strength. Therefore, most dancing weapons could only make
simple motions.
However, that was not the case for her.
She could easily and naturally manipulate her weapons as though they were
being held by an invisible warrior — one whose skills were equivalent to hers.
The reason for this was due to the unique makeup of her brain. This was because
she had been born with a pair of natural abilities.
The first was an excellent sense of spatial awareness — bordering on the preternatural.
And then — some people could have their right hands act with complete independence
from their left hands without training. However, her ability in that
field was greater than that; her mind was gifted with an unnatural flexibility.
That was her second ability.
It would not be unusual for someone to describe her as having two brains.
This was her ability.
If she had only one of those abilities, she would not have been able to control
her swords as freely as she did. However, these two abilities were united
within her. One could call it a miracle.

In an instant, Ainz charged into the Martial Lord’s attack range.
Ainz sent a mental command to his staff, and flames billowed from it. That
said, [billowing flames] simply meant a layer of fire that surrounded the
staff. The flames did not constitute an attack in themselves. However, Ainz
sensed the Martial Lord’s attention shifting from himself to the staff.

created by the natural absorption of mana, or perhaps through the magic of the
Dragons."

Neia leaned out to find her next target, and then she felt something tearing
through the air as it approached her, but all she saw was a burst of light.
Is this a magic attack from the enemy?
Neia froze for a moment. At the same time, she felt a thunk from her belly. It
felt like something had struck her lightly there.
Startled, she stumbled a step back and then she heard a clattering from her
feet. She looked closely and saw something that looked less like a lance than
a gigantic arrow – in other words, a ballista bolt.
Its tip looked like it had been hammered into a right angle by a hammer.
Neia hurriedly ducked back behind the wall. After that, she heard a scraping
sound as something huge struck the city walls.
Cold sweat ran down her back.
Neia unconsciously stroked the part of her where she had felt the impact.
She thought of how the Sorcerer King had thrown his sword earlier, and it had
been deflected by the field of light from Buser’s armor. That would explain
what had taken place just now.
It would seem she had been saved by Buser’s armor, which the Sorcerer King
had lent her. In other words, Neia’s life had been saved in the nick of time.
Is that some kind of protection from ranged attacks? My chest, shoulders and
belly are protected by the armor, but what about other places? Does that ability
have to be activated? No, more importantly, how many more times can I use it?
Or is it a one-shot kind of thing?
Without the armor that the Sorcerer King had lent her, Neia would have been
impaled through her abdomen.
