Finn was something else. Maybe I expected something more? Maybe we didn’t really comprehend what he was, or he really did want to just come to an end, as we seemed to topple the champion fairly easily. Maybe that’s just a testament to how well we work together? Mama always taught me to try and be humble, but we do seem to handle dangerous situations fairly well sometimes. His defeat did seem to fix the issue, as the world fire that was leaking into this area vanished soon after.
Still, the fight with Finn and his demise, and his desire to have his life ended has left me with a question. The first tomb of a hero we found was in the dungeon of the Darkness. He had given his life to seal the Darkness and trap it forever, only something went wrong over time and it broke out. Now we find Finn, and he gave his life to seal the World Fire, but it didn’t work perfectly. He was trapped here as some sort of pseudo-elemental being and it led to the World Fire not being sealed properly.
These were Heroes like us. Is that our fate? I don’t want to end up like that.
