- I read a book called “How to Be Black” recently; in case you couldn’t tell by looking at me, it didn’t work. I always wanted to be black growing up, but like without the adversity. I mean, I have an older brother who is half black. Well he tells me he’s black from the waist down. So I’m aware of the struggle. About a year ago, one of my friends brought some random red neck with him to my house, and the red neck dude was upset about his girlfriend cheating on him with a black guy, and in the telling of his story, he used the n word, as red necks are want to do. But then he stopped mid sentence and said, “oh man I’m sorry for saying that without asking if it’s a word you allow in your house.” I was dumbfounded. I was like, “aw, what a thoughtful piece of shit.” I can always count of Kentucky for racism blended with Southern hospitality. Kentucky Fried Racism. Needless to say I lie to everyone and say I’m from Cincinnati.
