Awkward Noah is Awkward

Alexithymiaa: -Noah was in the process of walking home from the job site today, grumbling to himself and clutching his side as it throbbed repeatedly. He'd thought that taking his bike into Central today would be nice since the weather broke just a bit today, but he was seriously regretting that now that he'd returned to the bike rack and his bike was gone. To make matters worse, a couple of guys jumped him on his walk home and stole the cash he'd made today before taking off. He let out a deep sigh, dragging himself up the driveway, thankful to finally be home.-
Covet: Tae had been waiting inside, with a couple of beers for them both, because it was St. Patty's day after all. He'd been later than she'd expected so she was starting to worry and be concerned. She bit her lip and looked at her phone again, furrowing her brow. "Where the hell is he?"
Alexithymiaa: -He slowly made his way up the front walkway to the door, shoving it open and sliding his bag off his back to the floor. Kicking the door closed behind him, he held his hand to his side where there was definitely going to be some sort of bruise, muttering under his breath. "Fuckin'... fuck..."-
Covet: She nearly dropped her phone when she heard the door bang open and closed, then heard him grumbling. "Hey....You're home. Finally." She said then walked over to where he was at looking him over, "Bad day at work?" She asked with a bit of a frown, still holding onto the two beers.
Alexithymiaa: "No, work was fine. Too bad the time between getting out of work and getting here are what sucked." He said as he walked over, taking one of the beers from her hands without another word and tipping it back to take a long drink. "My bike got stolen."-
Covet: "What? Oh my god, I'm so sorry." She said watching him tip his beer back. "You could have called me I would have come and picked you up." Tae said with a frown, tipping her own drink back.
Alexithymiaa: "It wouldn't have been so bad if I didnt get jumped on my way out of Central. They took all the cash I made today." He said with a scoff, finishing off his beer in one more sip before starting off into the kitchen with the empty bottle. "Everything sucks."-
Covet: "That's awful." She said frowning then walked with him into the kitchen making her way to the fridge to get him another beer, because he definitely needed it. " You can use my phone to get your credit card cancelled. As for the cash, I can spot you until you get paid." Tae offered trying to make it better.
Alexithymiaa: -He dropped down into a chair at the kitchen table, slouching down and tipping his head back against the back of the chair to close his eyes. "It's fine, my parents are going to be here later this week for the wedding (Spoilers, tomorrow! He doesnt know) so I'll just get some cash from them until I get paid again. It just sucks. And what am I supposed to do, go to the police and tell them two masked dudes jumped me for some cash? They'll never find them."-
Covet: "No but at least they would be on the look out. It's possible they will return to mug someone else." Tae said then walked over to him, rubbing his shoulders, looking down at him. "Okay, well if you need anything, like a ride or gas money for your car, I'd be more than happy to help where I can. You can even have some of my snacks and such."
Alexithymiaa: "I really appreciate that, but I think I've got it covered. I might take you up on your snacks right now though. Just... to make me feel better about this shit day." He said, the corners of his mouth turning up into a smile.-
Covet: "I've got Dinosaur fruit snacks." She said smiling down at him. "Anything else I can do to help make your day better."
Alexithymiaa: "I will gladly accept dinosaur fruit snacks." He smiled at her before nodding in the direction of the fridge. "Can you get me some ice for my ribs? One of those assholes punched me repeatedly in the same fucking spot."-
Covet: "Yes, of course." She said getting the box of fruit snacks bringing it over to the table for him, then went to get him a bag of ice. "Did they hit terribly hard or?" She asked, cause she knew hard.
Alexithymiaa: -He fished a package of fruit snacks out of the box and opened it, pouring them out over a napkin and popping a couple into his mouth. "It was more that they blind sided me. And then it was just in the same fucking spot over and over. After a couple, they could have tapped me and it would have sucked."-
Covet: "Does anything feel broken?" She asked, "Is it hard to breathe?" Tae added.
Alexithymiaa: "Nah, I've had broken ribs before. It's not this. It's just sore." He said as he popped more fruit snacks into his mouth, taking the ice and pressing it against his side. "Fucking assholes. I had three hundred bucks on me."-
Covet: "Okay that's good." Tae said still rubbing his shoulders a little. "Wow, really? Well it could have been worse?" She said with a wince, because wtf kind of thing is that to say Tae.
Alexithymiaa: "I could have had more on me?" He asked in confusion, not really sure what she meant by that.-
Covet: "Yeah, and they could have stolen your shoes." She said with a nod, then reached down to drop a couple more fruit snacks into his mouth.
Alexithymiaa: "I wish they would have stolen my shoes. At least if they stole my shoes and not my money, I could have bought more shoes and had money leftover still." He said as he chewed the fruit snacks.-
Covet: "No they could have stolen your shoes and your money. Which would have made walking home more miserable." She said to him with a chuckle.
Alexithymiaa: "I guess..." He started, not seeing the amusement in her words. "Everything just sucks. And as if this didnt suck enough, we're going to have to deal with my whole family in like two days. All of them."-
Covet: "You poor thing" She said running her hands through his hair. "Don't worry, I liked at least one of your sisters. I'm sure I'll get along fine with the others. I'll be on my best behavior." She told him. "At least when we're around them."
Alexithymiaa: "I'm not worried about Sadie. She's the best, for the most part. It's my parents and just altogether having everyone together that drives me nuts. I get along pretty well with my brother, but he's still my brother and he knows how to get under my skin real quick."-
Covet: "I wish I could say I agree, but Eli's always been the kind and nice one, I was the pesky younger sister getting under his skin." Tae said. "They're family, they're supposed to drive you nuts. You think mine is any more of a cake walk?" She asked him.
Alexithymiaa: "None of us are the nice one. Maybe Sadie just because she's too young to be a jerk yet." He said with a snicker, regrettng the little laugh because his side ached. "I know they're supposed to drive you nuts, but that doesnt mean they dont just because I'm aware of it."-
Covet: "Well no of course not that's not how it works, It's because you're aware of it that they do it. But.. I can't really blame them, It's kind of fun to get under your skin sometimes." Tae said, then leaned down to give him a kiss on the head.
Alexithymiaa: -He narrowed his eyes on her face. "Really going to kick me when I'm down, huh?" He asked her, unamused.-
Covet: "No, I'm just letting you know that I bug you because I lo....I really like you and that's just one of the ways I show it." She told him speaking quickly.
Alexithymiaa: -He yawned, moving his hand to cover his mouth. "You like to show affection by bugging me? Shit, I'm surprised you're not a member of my family if we're going based off that." He'd caught her little slip, but he did NOT want to draw attention to it.-
Covet: "Pfft, there's only one way that would happen, and I'm more than sure there's plenty of other weddings going on in your family right now, not including my brother's." Tae said cringing because first she just about dropped the L bomb now marriage comment. This was quickly turning into a train wreck.
Alexithymiaa: "What?" He asked with an awkward and uncomfortable laugh because he's literally eighteen and this chick is making marriage jokes at him. "Uhhh yeah.... well...." He started, unsure of where he was even trying to direct the conversation so he grabbed some fruit snacks and pushed them into his mouth.-
Covet: Tae could feel her foot invisibly inserting it into her mouth. "I'm totally joking. I don't want to get married for a long time still." She said trying to recover
Covet: *itself
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah..." He laughed uncomfortably again, shifting in his chair a bit. "That's for old people who have nothing left to to work towards in their own lives. They need to add another person to the mix." He said without really thinking, trying to justify some sort of reason why they were obviously too young for that.-
Covet: "Well, I was thinking more like, I'd like to finish at least a degree if not two first, and get established in a job so I can afford such a thing." She said laughing.
Alexithymiaa: "Well yeah that's what I meant. You need to get your own life in order before you start adding other lives to it." He tried to clarify, rubbing his face and setting the ice down on the table. "I should probably try to shower so I can go to bed..."-
Covet: "Do you want some help?" She asked him, happy for a change of subject. "Since you're injured and all that." Tae added.
Alexithymiaa: "No I'm okay. I just want to get in and get out as fast as possible. I'll be fine." He said as he stood up, wanting to put a little bit of distance between the two of them since he was feeling awkward. "But I'll see you in the morning, okay?" He asked as he started to walk backwards away from her.-
Covet: "Oh... Okay..." Tae said watching him, turning quickly around to grab the box of fruit snacks back into the cupboard. She bit the inside of her lip mentally berating herself.
Alexithymiaa: -He spun back around, disappearing down the hallway and into his room, closing his door to put that barrier up so he could go shower and get into bed alone.-
