- Let me start by saying that I find all of you very noble and genuinely good people and I know that for people who aren't streaming, you are here to relax and have a good time and while I understand all of this, now that we are having more public voice chats via streaming, we need to be more aware of what we are relaying to the average user and I'm afraid that recently I have been seeing signs of toxicity.
- In saying that, I would like to enact a code of conduct for when you share a voice chat with someone that is streaming. This is to help improve our image in front of others so we can continue to be a growing community. I only put this out there because we need everyone with us as your support means the world to us. Some of these rules are here to help teach you how to keep a productive conversation, some of these are to prevent people from getting completely turned off by us, all of them are here because at this time I feel it is needed in order for us to continue.
- I also know that there are some of you who try to reinterpret “rules” to allow your personal behavior persist. Understand this, there will be ZERO tolerance on taking these rules from anything other than face value, you will not benefit from trying to game the system because these rules are actually HERE to game a larger system, one of which we have very little control over.
- PLEASE NOTE: NONE OF THESE RULES ARE INTENEDED TO SINGLE ANY ONE PERSON OUT. IF YOU FEEL THIS IS THE CASE, PLEASE TALK TO ME OR JAY PERSONALLY. I WOULD LIKE TO REITERATE THAT THIS CODE IS JUST FOR STREAMING FOR RIGHT NOW.
- STREAMING CODE OF CONDUCT:
- LANGUAGE:
- 1 - Keep language and conversation as PG as possible. I know that there will be a period of getting used to this but we all, including myself, need to refrain as much as possible from saying off color words that you wouldn't hear on a PG television show. We want to create an inviting place for players and if you can't get your point across without using off color language then maybe it isn't for a stream.
- 2 - Subjects of conversations need to remain light. No politics, no religion, no bashing where a person is from. We will make no conversation that pales negatively race, creed, color, nationality, or religion. I would say some jokes are okay but I have observed that many of us don't understand the line between being funny and offensive.
- 3 – Please give air to the conversation. That is to say if you feel you have been dominating the conversation, please allow others to talk. Try to end your statements perhaps with phrases like What do you think, (person)?” If you feel like you are fighting to be heard in a conversation, count to ten and wait for a pause. We need conversations to be funny, fun, and light, we can not have this if people are feeling like they aren't being heard.
- 4 – STREAMER'S DISCRETION Know that there will be times, the streamer will allow exceptions to the rules but when the person streaming changes the subject or asks for you to stop, you stop immediately. This exception rule only extends for the sake of humorous content and not day to day operations. Streamer's discretion for example does not allow you to outright break a rule like by saying “I don't care if you curse, curse all you want when I stream.” This goes against the standard and for consistent quality purposes can not be allowed.
- 5 – If you feel angry, DO NOT use the conversation to attack or belittle another user. If you feel anger or offense in your heart, please mute yourself until that feeling has passed. This is to serve more positive content than negative content.
- 6 – Please DO what you can to go right up to the line but do not step over. It's fun and funny to test the borders but THESE ARE THE BORDERS and now that you know where they are be funny inside of them. Treat this as a challenge to yourself to be as funny as you can within the framework of these rules.
- 7 – PLEASE DO be your 100% full uncensored self when no one is streaming. These rules do not apply when people aren't streaming, although some of them would still benefit the whole if you did still use some of these rules offline.
- GAMING ETIQUETTE:
- 1 – Do not speed run a multiplayer game that doesn't call for it. Most people are casual players and are turned off when someone treats it like a speed run and gets everything first. We are trying to build content that gives people entertainment. If it isn't fun for the players on stream, it isn't fun for the people watching it.
- 2 – We are all for one and one for all and if everyone can “win” in a situation, we should be helping those people when they need it.
- 3 – If you are upset for losing a game, please mute yourself until you feel that pass.
- 4 – If you feel it was someone's fault that you lost, please make sure you are more positive than negative about the situation, if you see something someone is lacking and you want to say something about it, give them improving advice to overcome the loss. If you can't do this, then mute yourself until the feeling passes.
- 5 – We are all here to play! Let's support that by using positive tactics over negative ones.
- BEHAVIOR FOR THE SAKE OF CONTENT:
- I hate when people make rules but talk about what you can't do only and leave it up to everyone to figure out what you can do to help so here it goes.
- 1 - Trolling and screwing over someone in a game is GREAT content. However, sometimes playing a strait game and letting the chips fall where they may also provides great content. If you have trolled someone recently, give a lot of time between the troll sessions, trolling someone over and over is a form of bullying and it negatively affects the content.
- 2 – PLEASE DO Share stories and jokes! Please do share conversations, ideas, starters and all of that in a positive fashion. Keeping good conversation is inviting to the end user and makes them stay around especially if you watch stream chat while you play with us and include them in the conversations.
- 3 – If you are in the stream, you are supporting the streamer's quality of stream ALWAYS remember that. When the streamer is live, they are the ones in charge. Please support their wishes.
- In conclusion, I don't want you to feel these rules limit you, they should not at all. You should still be able to shine despite these rules and you shouldn't limit yourself to only being one way and that is it. Use these rules to challenge yourself and make you a better more productive and funny person. We love you all. Thank you very much.
