  1. Alliance Update - War!
  2.

  4. Brave.
  5. As of roughly 9 hours ago, Co2 has been reset by Legacy coalition.
  6.
  7. This was not a decision that came lightly, or was rushed into. It is the result of many factors that built up over a long period of time. If you have half an hour to spare you can listen to PGL of TEST telling the story/ranting here https://www.twitch.tv/videos/170286286.
  8.
  9. However, to give the timeline of events from the Brave perspective, we start at the coalition meeting Progod mentions. Prior to this meeting TEST had been deployed and we had been fighting RED in Stain and Catch. Meanwhile, Co2 broke treaties and began their war in Feythabolis. Co2, subsequently aligning themselves with Triumvirate, began to put heavy pressure on Phoenix Federation, the coalition led by FCON. With war raging around us, we met to discuss our options.
  10.
  11. The first was to simply stay out, an option rejected as non-viable by all. Plus nobody wants to sit out a war.
  12.
  13. The second was to side with Co2 in the war they had begun. This would mean invading FCON, our friends, and aligning with TRI. TRI is a group that has hit our structures repeatedly, and which has a history of resetting and subsequently attacking former allies.
  14.
  15. The final option was to make clear to Co2 that if they continued this path they would do so alone, and not as a part of Legacy coalition. All present knew that this would have a high chance of leading to conflict with Co2, and that we must be prepared for such. A neutral entity in Impass is not an option for us in the long run, due to the geography of the space we live in. This option would, unless Co2 changed course, likely lead to a reset of and a conflict with Co2.
  16.
  17. The factors above, as well as others discussed by Progod, lead to every alliance concluding that the third option, while difficult, was the best choice. Brave abstained from the vote not wanting to choose between our friends in Co2 and our friends in FCON, but importantly we committed then and there to backing the decision of our allies with all our strength. Our past has taught us the importance of having friends in Eve who will work together when the time comes, and we believe that time is now. When we had no place to go, and were lacking in strength, TEST gave us a second chance and we intend to repay that debt.
  18.
  19. Following the decision, plans are drawn up. While diplos make the threat of reset by Legacy extremely clear to Co2, our military departments contingency plan for war. Here subterfuge comes into play. Chester Paterson, not involved in the meeting itself, is informed by Brave leadership that war with Co2 is a possibility and we should have plans. He goes poking dudes for info, asking questions such as "are we going to rent [Impass]?". These incriminating screens are then given to PL, who cherry picks them and hands them to Co2 to make it look like the plan all along was to backstab them. This leads to Co2 and TEST getting very angry with each other. Finally, Co2 dumps the screens on reddit to push that narrative publicly and earn themselves sympathy/support, which outs Chester as the spy. He subsequently confessed that he had been spying for Doom for a very long time. Since that time full logs of our most opsec channels have surfaced.
  20.
  21. With the leak of these screens, Co2 became convinced that Legacy intended to invade Impass. The decision to reset was solidified on both sides, leading to where we are today.
  22.
  23. What’s next for Brave?
  24. We’ve been telling you in the last few updates to get your stuff ready for war. Now you can see why. That said, for now we will not be invading Impass as there is still a chance that a diplomatic solution may be reached with our former allies.
  25.
  26. That does not mean we are staying out of this. PF have been good friends to us, and are under great pressure from Tri and Co2. It’s time to return the favour. We will be entering this conflict alongside our Legacy allies to help save PF from Tri and Co2 aggression, and prevent them from being evicted and/or collapsing. Prepare your doctrines and get ready for war. Details on staging, as well as arrangements for coalition level ops will be announced in the coming days.
  27.
  28. This will inevitably bring us into conflict with Co2, and the prospect of a hostile entity bordering GE- is not appealing. War over Impass is a distinct possibility that we must also be prepared for, and willing to give our all in. Whichever way the situation evolves, we are going to need all hands on deck for this. Even as I write this, a Co2 Fortizar in Catch is being transferred to Pandemic Legion control, a pretty clear statement of intent from Co2. Get your hype train active. Cap dudes make sure you have your big ships ready to go. Keep training into subcap doctrines, especially Maelstroms, and then Lokis, and keep fleeting up and fighting because we are Brave and that’s what we do.
