PERSONALITY:; Soomin is the probably one of the the funnest, most extra people you’ll meet. She has absolutely no shame and will never turn down a dare, ever, no matter how embarrassing it can be. She loves making people smile and laugh, it brightens her day when she is able to cheer up people who feel down. She also loves making puns, and her puns will make you laugh even though it’s super trashy. Because of her puns, she’s nicknamed “pun machine” by her label mates. Although Soomin seems like the type of person who will take everything as a joke, she knows when it’s time to be serious about something. During practices, she’s very focused and will do her best to improve in areas where she’s lacking. She’s a very excitable person, but being an idol is her dream, so of course, practice is a priority before fun. Soomin also gives pretty good, helpful advice when someone needs them, which is one of her ways to show that she cares. She’s willing to teach choreography to others who are having a hard time catching up, another way of showing her care.

BACKGROUND:; Soomin was born as the oldest of three sisters in Daegu, South Korea. Even before she was born, her parents run a small restaurant which served korean food, so it’s no surprise that she really enjoys and is good at cooking. Another thing she got from her parents was her love for dancing. Her parents actually met when they were in a dance troupe together in high school, so their entire family enjoys dancing, including her two younger sisters. Unlike her sisters however, she wanted to pursue dancing and music, so she often joined school talent shows and has once joined a national competition. And it was on the talent show in 2013 when she was spotted by an agent from Pledis Entertainment, that agent told her to prepare an audition, and she was very hyped. After School was and is still an inspiration to her, so she was very excited to be auditioning for the company of After School. A month later, she was accepted into the company and has since then been training.

3. If you say your trainee say their friend eliminated, how would they react?:;
— soomin would try her best not to cry, but will end up crying anyway. she would pull her friend into a tight hug and wish her luck for her future. she’ll also tell her friend that this wouldn’t be the last time they’d meet and that they should still keep in touch.

4. How would your trainee react to a good or bad ranking?:;
— good or bad, she’ll still be thankful that she’s been given another chance to prove herself in the competition. of course, if she gets a bad ranking, she’ll promise everyone that she’ll work harder.

5. What speech would your trainee give if they got first place?:;
— /slaps herself to make sure she’s not dreaming/  “Oh my– this is real. I never at all expected to get first place, I’m honestly really shocked. But at the same time, I’m really happy! I want to thank the mentors for teaching me how I can improve myself more and more. I want to thank my mom, dad, and sisters, Bomin and Eunmin, for being my #1 supporters all the time! Lastly, I want to thank all the fans who never stop showing their love and support for me, you all keep me motivated to do better in Idol Discovery! This is definitely I moment that I’ll never forget. I love you all!”

6. What speech would your trainee give if they were in seats/ranks 2-9?:;
— /looks very shocked/ “Oh my gosh, I’m shaking— I’m so thankful to have such a high rank. I want to thank everyone who continues to show their love and support for me all the time. Because of all of you, I’m always so determined to do my best. Even after getting this ranking, I’ll still do my best to show you all good performances and make you all smile. Thank you and I love you all!

7. What speech would your trainee give if they were not eliminated but not in seats 1-9?:;
— “I’m very happy to still be in the competition, but I will do my best to raise my rank in the future. Hopefully, I will show better sides of myself too. Thank you to everyone who supports me non-stop, your love is really heartwarming and I really appreciate it! I love you all!”

8. What speech would your trainee give if they were eliminated?:;
— “Although I am no longer a part of the competition, I promise everyone that this is not the last time you will see me. I will work harder to show you a better Han Soomin in the future, and debut someday! I’m grateful to the mentors, and all the friends I made here, you have all made this journey memorable. I just want to thank everyone who supported me throughout my journey here in Idol Discovery, your love has kept me motivated and makes me happy always. And congrats to all the girls who made it, I wish you all good luck! I love you all!

9. What kind of teammate is your trainee?:;
— soomin is the mood-maker of the team, always doing her bests to support and motivate her teammates, and make them have a good laugh too. she would be the one maintaining the good atmosphere.
