  1. She laughed at him mentioning his feathers as the numbers on his list of things he liked about her.
  2. “I’m going to call your bluff, one of these days I’m going to count the number of feathers you have and then you’ll have to cough up every reason. Even then, I’d try and beat that number.”
  3. It was funny how everything became a playful competition between the two, but she really enjoyed it, not really thinking of the benefits that came with verbal sparring. She was glad that he wasn’t intimidated, that made her feel better, less of a monster. Because after the Nazi and the snake… well, she wouldn’t mind doing some more healing instead of destruction to feel better about the balance of her life.
  4. Yeah, she didn’t enjoy harvesting the snake, but how could she just stand there and let him do all of the work? Besides, a chef is only as good as his ingredients, so she would make sure the cuts, even with a dull blade, were handled with care and that there’d be enough filets for her to work with to win the competition idea she’d come up with. Even with no competition, good storage of food was only kind to the person who ended up having to prepare it for a meal.
  5. At the bet, she was at a loss for what they could put on the line. Their goals were the same and well, their relationship wasn’t far enough that either of them had any disclosed fetishes that the other would have to do. Not that she knew if she had any, she hadn’t disclosed yet but… she’d never had anyone before. The word for it… the word that she was made fun of in her school, virgin. That’s it. But with how strict her helicopter parents were, it didn’t really leave her with an option. Plus, she was so young at 17 and this being her first time out into the world, she’d figure she’d find someone special before she did such a thing.
  6. And now she did, someone who could make her weak in the knees, even if she were the one who initiated it, the way he engaged in it instantly gave her shivers, especially the way he pressed his body against her softer form. Yes, she was athletic, but she didn’t have an athletic build, she had to work hard to look as lean as she was, still having that feminine softness she couldn’t quite get rid of. Not that she was fat, no, just maybe not as hard cut as a woman of athletic build would be. Her lungs burned as well when they pulled away for air.
  7. She laughed with a bright smile at his commentary at their settings to steal a kiss. She continued to kiss him, even as it was clear it was becoming more heated with need than desire, Art had to end it as Eva had no experience in dealing with such emotions and had let them get her carried away. It was difficult knowing someone loved you and to stop – and not knowing where it might lead to and what that all entails, she had a rather innocent look on her face when he said they shouldn’t go any further.
  8. “I, um, couldn’t agree more. I’d imagine my… first time going further with someone I loved would be in a little bit of a different setting.”
  9. There, she had admitted it, she hoped Art wouldn’t judge her for it, but she at least was being honest with him. She quickly gathered their things to go back to camp, whistling for Christopher to come along with his new treat.
