  1. I'm looking for a laptop primarily used for streaming from home for content creation and content consumption. I have no need to actually do any gaming or productivity on the machine itself, so I would like to focus more on build quality and design over the actual specs.
  2.
  3. **LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE**
  4.
  5. * Country of purchase:
  6. USE
  7. * Budget range:
  8. 400-800
  9. * Purpose (netbook, ultraportable, mainstream, gaming, desktop replacement, etc.):
  10. Content consumption and remote desktop to my home pc for light gaming and content creation. I do programming, but most of that is going to be on my home pc. I also do editing and graphic design, and the latency of streaming that is a mild bother, but it's not a must. I might play slow paced games like turn based strategy games on my home computer streaming and maybe some steam in-home streaming for some others.
  11. * Screen size preference:
  12. 12 inches at least
  13. * OS preference (Windows/Mac/Linux):
  14. Preferably not OSX
  15. * Gaming requirements (example games and desired fps/settings):
  16. I will only be streaming slow paced games from my home built PC.
  17. * Other performance requirements (video editing, CAD, etc.):
  18. Only good internet for lots of streaming.
  19. * Brand preferences and reasons (already owned accessories, familiarity, business compatibility):
  20. I like ASUS and have had bad experience with Acer, but I have an open mind.
  21. * Any particular style that you like (examples are great):
  22. Aluminum construction and thin bezels.
  23. The new xps 13 is amazing, asus zenbooks, macbooks, msi gs50 stealth
  24. **Which of the following qualities would you prefer? (Choose one, two, or balanced)**
  25.
  26. * Long battery life -vs- Low weight -vs- High performance:
  27. Battery life, maybe weight
  28. * Build quality -vs- Low price -vs- High performance:
  29. Build Quality
  30. * Low noise/heat -vs- High performance:
  31. Low noise and heat
  32. **Which features would you pay a premium for?**
  33.
  34. * High resolution screen:
  35. 1080p is a must if it's over 13 inches, but I am okay with any 16:9 aspect ratio if it's under that size. Anything more than 1080p is overkill but I would love it
  36. * Build Quality:
  37. Ever since I got my HTC One M8, I am now a stickler for metal cases on all my devices. A metal build or seriously good build quality is a big must. Small bezels and sharp edges are also great.
  38. * Touchscreen:
  39. For graphic design and other visual content creation a touchscreen could be really nice. Not as important as previous features.
  40.
  41. **List any features that are critical:**
  42. Build quality, 12+inch screen, high resolution
