- The original battle system was suppose to support
- mostly large-scale conflicts only. However, because
- the scripter vanished and YDS decided to be more
- self-reliant, the game has been toned-down to
- become something more like Suikoden 2 with a
- hint of Final Fantasy 4HOL.

- *** EXPLANATION ***
- ======================================================================================
- - SKIRMISH: Regular battles, plays like a many JRPG battles, there is a limit of five
- turns and it returns back to the pre-battle screen
- - SKIRMISH FEATURES:
- *** Fire: Uses the character's musket to blast a powerful shot
- however, it takes three turns to recharge. No AP.
- *** Attack: Attack with whatever weapon you have. How much AP it saps
- depends on the weapon
- *** Abilities: uses abilities unique to each class - each will sap AP points
- *** Defend: Recharges AP

- In addition to a musket, which can be fired every three rounds, you have the options of

- - Blunderbuss (Handgun): high speed, lower attack, good chance of critical

- - Knife: high speed, three hits, lower accuracy
- - Musket with bayonet: moderage damage, should be considered the best weapon out of them all

- Each class gives you a unique abilities which saps AP. Some classes prevents the uses of
- certain weapons, or bonuses on certain weapons.
- Each class has four stars you can upgrade - I am still unsure how they will be upgraded.
- When you change class, you will have a unique hat.
- You will have three active abilities and one passive ability and one conflict ability.
- - Minuteman: Default class

- 1. Attack - 1 AP
- Conflict Skill:
- 1. shoot a target enemy two rows down
- UNLOCK: Beginning of the game
- - Grenadier: has the ability to attack an entire party

- 1. Attack - 1 AP
- 2. Grenade - Causes %50 to the unit next to it 2 AP
- 3. Heavy Bomb - Causes %75 damage to the unit next to it 3 AP

- 1. Attack a cluster of four squares

- - Skirmisher: good with meele weapons
- Weapons: Axe, Bayonet Saber
- Bonuses: ++ ATK, -Speed
- Unique Abilities:
- 1. Attack - 1 AP
- 2. Guerilla Warfare - increase invasion by %30 for three rounds
- 3. Slice! - Cut the tendon of a unit and make them [BLEED]! Last for three turns (4 AP)
- Conflict Skill:
- 1. Jab - attack the unit ahead of you
- UNLOCK: After Battle of Monongahela
- - Fusilier: A unit skilled with using guns
- Weapons: Blunderbuss, Bayonet
- Bonuses:
- Unique Abilities: Recovery time for musket to 2 turns
- 1. Attack - 1 AP
- 2. Aim - %50 Critical hit or miss, 2 AP
- 3. Snipe - critical hit next turn, %25 chance of causing [BLEED] for 3 turns

- 1. Pierce shot two units in a row

- - Coureur des Bois: a unit that increases money dropped after battle, increases effect of items used
