Resilient Session 3

TheResilientGM	You arrive at camp late that evening. The engines of your transport cease, and the doors are opened for you. Men uniformed to signify they are part of the Captain's Command Squad wait for you just outside, lined up weapons at the ready.
	TheResilientGM	"Corporal Yonova," a sergeant calls.
	Kass_Yonova	get's out of the Chimera, making sure his gear and pack are comfortable. "Sir."
	Kass_Yonova	Kass gives the Sergeant a salute.
	TheResilientGM	Not far from you, Colonel Stieglitz dismounts from his Sentinel, Vonayans untie the unconscious Prithian from his machine and take him away into the camp.
	TheResilientGM	"Surrender your weapons" as the command is given, two Prithian soldiers approach the medic.
	Artem_Gusarov	hesitates and looks to Stieglitz
	Gru_Persay	leaves the Chimera and commands Meat to follow.
	TheResilientGM	The Colonel watches from a distance, observing the situation in silence.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass unslings his rifle and hands it over, along with his grenade belt and side-arm. He also unbuckles his knife sheath and gives that with the knife to the guardsmen.
	TheResilientGM	"Hold, Techpriest!" the sergeant commands.
	Kass_Yonova	"I'll hold onto my medical gear, if that is fine with you, sir."
	Gru_Persay	stops and says "Yes, Sir."
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Stop."
	TheResilientGM	The sergeant nods. "You may take it to the medicae and triage center on your way to the brig."
	Kass_Yonova	"Aye, sir."
	TheResilientGM	Two more Prithians join the pair already by you; your escort.
	TheResilientGM	"You are to be held until a date for your court martial is determined" the sergeant adds.
	Schneider	sets his weapons down and looks at the escorts. "Now don't go gettin her dirty I just cleaned her before we landed."
	Kass_Yonova	Kass simply nods.
	TheResilientGM	The men from around you. "Now, Corporal, if you please" he motions to the base. He solemnly salutes.
	Kass_Yonova	returns the salute and then heads to the medical tent and triage, before heading to the brig.

	TheResilientGM	"The rest of you. At ease," he says before parting.
	TheResilientGM	A short moment later, Stieglitz follows the escort.
	Gru_Persay	attempts to repair what's left of Meat's arm and face.
	TheResilientGM	The base has changed since you were last here. Earthworks have been added, and regulation defenses set up. The camp looks identical to those you remember setting up in training.
	Artem_Gusarov	goes to find a quartermaster to resupply
	Schneider	goes off to find the mess hall.
	Gru_Persay	heads toward the vehicle depo and looks around for an officer or mechanic.
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Follow. I have to find you some share parts."
	Schneider	returns to the squad's staging area.
	Gru_Persay	enters the mess hall and gives a tray. Gru looks around."
	Gru_Persay	sits at a table by himself and eats.
	TheResilientGM	Not long after, several platoons in dress uniform travel together to the new LZ.
	TheResilientGM	What used to be a strip of dirt is now a well-defended flattened area. It's seen plenty of use; many crates and boxes surround the area.
	Artem_Gusarov	finds the mess hall and sits next to Gru
	TheResilientGM	They form two single-file lines, largely spaced from eachother, and hold their positions.
	TheResilientGM	Simulatentously, two officers call out the exact opposite orders. "RIGHT/LEFT FACE!"
	TheResilientGM	The lines turn to face one another.
	TheResilientGM	Not long after, several aircraft, flying in formation, fly around the camp.
	Gru_Persay	says to Artem "You hear that?"
	TheResilientGM	Finally, one of them, an Aquila lander, breaks formation and descends.
	TheResilientGM	The lander finds its place, and makes a landing. The engines howling until they slow down to a halt.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Stumbles into one of the tents*
	TheResilientGM	The doors open, and out steps an ornate figure.
	Alexandr_Harmon	Oh sorry everyone, im retarded
	Gru_Persay	"Who the hell is that?"
	TheResilientGM	"ATTENTION!" the gauntlet of Guardsmen stand at attention as the figure approaches, followed by staff.
	Schneider	"What the hell?"
	TheResilientGM	He wears the cap of the Prithian Officers you remember seeing on portraits back at the training facilities in Prithia. He wears an impressive overcoat that flows freely behind him.
	Gru_Persay	"Heh. Who's the unlucky squad to get that idiot?"
	TheResilientGM	"Colonel! 2nd and 3rd Companies presenting and--" the lieutenant is stopped mid-sentence by the raised, gloved hand of Colonel Schoenfeld.
	TheResilientGM	He takes a look at the men at either side, and salutes, making his way to the end of the ceremonial proceedings. Captain Zieten salutes him, and leads him into the Command Structure.
	TheResilientGM	"I didn't think he'd be showing up" shrugs Hector.
	Alexandr_Harmon	Soooooooo i ate some berries and i/m not not sure what's happening,
	Gru_Persay	"I think I'm done here." Gru says to Artem "What about you?"
	Alexandr_Harmon	"So i'm Alexandr and my friend here is Ramon."
	Schneider	looks at the new comer. "I'm not sure if we need a priest or a commissar"
	Gru_Persay	leaves the mess hall and heads toward the Quartermaster's depo.
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Follow."

	TheResilientGM	The quartermaster appears as busy as ever, several aids running back and forth with forms, and boxes.

	Alexandr_Harmon	*Walks into the quartermaster's office* Sir, Alexandr Harmon requesting a grenade launcher.
	TheResilientGM	"Harmon... 3rd Company?" I'm afraid not, Private.
	TheResilientGM	Have these on reserve for 4th Company.
	Gru_Persay	"Hello, may I see your wares?"
	TheResilientGM	"What do you want, Techpriest?"
	Schneider	goes up to the quartermaster. "Ya got any long lases? My normal lasgun just can't shoot very far ya know?"
	Gru_Persay	"Some ammo for an autogun, shotgun, and autopistol, and a Bayonet."
	TheResilientGM	"You were with the Vonayan Contacts in the assault up north?"
	Schneider	"Yeah I was, it was damn fun burnin those bastards out."
	TheResilientGM	"Just a moment, there, trooper."
	Schneider	"Take your time"
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Walks up to the quartermaster* Sir, do you have a Melta that i may request?
	TheResilientGM	He walks out the back and returns with a large case. He lays it on the counter and opens it up in front of you. "Our very last until reinforcements. Take good care of her."
	Schneider	"Oh I will don't you worry"
	TheResilientGM	"So it's a melta instead?"
	Schneider	takes the rifle and ammo and slings it over his shoulder. "Hey Hector we got a new gun!"
	TheResilientGM	"Now how're we going to burn those damned ugly badgers, Otto?"
	TheResilientGM	"I'm afraid not, son," the Quartermaster replies. "You're just too green."
	TheResilientGM	"And techpriest, plenty of ammo on the boxes to your left. Take what you need."
	Schneider	"We shoot 'em from half a kilometer away that's how!"
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Goes to the cornet in disappointment*
	TheResilientGM	He reaches down behind his counter and pulls out a form. He then points to a crate just outside the entrance. "That'll be it right there. Take one and do me a favor, bring the crate in."
	Gru_Persay	grabs the crate outside and brings it to the Quartermaster.
	TheResilientGM	"One of them's yours," he says as he opens the crate.
	Gru_Persay	takes 3 clips of ammo for each of his weapons. Gru takes a bayonet and attracts it to the autogun. He thanks the Quartermaster.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Goes to quartermaster* "Sir, can you please give me a autogu?"
	Gru_Persay	"I have something for you." Gru walks outside and takes 9 entrenchment tools from Meat. He brings it inside and gives it to the Quartermaster.
	TheResilientGM	"Off to the side, there, cog-boy."
	Schneider	gets his sight and has it attached to his rifle while giggling like a schola girl.
	TheResilientGM	Guards around you are relieved of their watch, and new ones take their place. Those relieved walk to their quarters to rest, the sun already hidden behind the horizon.
	Gru_Persay	enters a chimera and starts mediating.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Follows Gru^
	TheResilientGM	"MMEAAAT" he charges the Private and knocks him to the ground.
	Gru_Persay	"Meat... Good. BOY."
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Yells out* " GRU WHAT IS THIS????
	Gru_Persay	"If you don't want Meat to give you one of his special hugs, I suggest you head to your quarters."
	TheResilientGM	The servitor gets up and stands next to Gru, a low hum under his breath.
	Alexandr_Harmon	"I don't know where my quarter is. You look like a man i can learn from sir."
	TheResilientGM	The servitor slowly approaches the trooper.
	Gru_Persay	"For the love of the Omnissiah. Just ask one of the other officers where the quarters are. "
	Alexandr_Harmon	*starts stepping back^
	TheResilientGM	"MMMEEEAAAAATTTT" the servitor slowly growls
	Alexandr_Harmon	"As you wish sir."
	Gru_Persay	"Easy. Meat."
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Walks away*
	Gru_Persay	heads back inside the chimera and continues his meditation.
	TheResilientGM	THE FOLLOWING MORNING
	TheResilientGM	You awake to the sound of a very busy camp. Men carrying and dragging things, chatter everywhere, orders being shouted by officers.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Looks for Gru*
	TheResilientGM	A man bursts into the barracks, "Lieutenant Koss' men, you are to report to Commissar Wolfe. He awaits you in the Rally Square."
	Schneider	grabs his gear and makes sure all his equipment is straightened
	Gru_Persay	climbs out of the chimera to see what the commotion is about.
TheResilientGM	The Rally Square is different this morning.

	TheResilientGM	The usual stand is replaced by several benches and a large throne-like seat. The preparations are ones you are familiar with. This is set for a public court martial.
	TheResilientGM	Ahead, you find a Commissar, wearing the neat dark blue and gold-trimmed coat of those assigned to overlook regiments of Prithia and the Romulus subsector.

	TheResilientGM	You notice a squad approach the Commissar. They appear to be escorting Yonova, cuffed.
	Artem_Gusarov	"Just my luck.", he mumbles in Vonayan
	TheResilientGM	As you approach, one of the Colonel's aides approaches you, nervously. "Please join Corporal Yonova's bench."
	Gru_Persay	sits on the bench and commands Meat to stay.
	Schneider	sits next to Gru
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Sits next to Schneider*
	TheResilientGM	The hall now begins to fill with officers, and troopers alike. In the very front, Captain Zieten takes one of the seats overlooking the Square; he will be part of the overseeing tribunal.
	Kass_Yonova	faces the squad. "I miss anything?"
	Gru_Persay	"Meat has a new face."
	TheResilientGM	The Commissar stands next to your bench. On the opposite side, a Storm trooper stands guard.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*secretly wants to sit next to Gru*
	Artem_Gusarov	"Do I want to know how you got it?"
	TheResilientGM	Suddenly, the majority of the men in the Square stand at attention.
	TheResilientGM	Colonel Schoenfeld enters, and takes his seat next to Captain Zieten.
	Kass_Yonova	stands with the rest as well.
	TheResilientGM	The colonel sits, and motions for the men to do as he has. They sit.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*whispers to Schneider* "Can we switch seats?"
	Kass_Yonova	takes his seat again.
	TheResilientGM	Then, Colonel Stieglitz enters, he makes his way to his Prithian counterpart.
	TheResilientGM	A few men, no more than a couple dozen, stand now. Vonayans present for the Court martial.
	Schneider	looks at Alex like he's insane.
	TheResilientGM	The Vonayan Colonel sits on tha Captain's other side.
	TheResilientGM	Captain Zieten then stands and announces: "The proceedings begin. Let the accused appear before the tribunal!"
	TheResilientGM	A small escort enters. They escort the familiar figure of Lieutenant Koss.
	TheResilientGM	Not long after, a beaten man is brought in. A captain of some sort. His swollen face familiar to you; the man Stieglitz took prisoner.
	TheResilientGM	The opening arguments begin. Several charges of "gross incompetence" are raised against the men.
	TheResilientGM	The opening arguments begin. Several witnesses are called in from the Colonels' staff. They detail the events of your rendezvous with the Vonayan elements, and the advance through the woodlands. Schoenfeld and Stieglitz both mercilessly question the witnesses, finding breaches of protocol during the process. It's almost difficult to remember who's on trial.
	TheResilientGM	At last, Lieutenant Koss is called to the stand.
	TheResilientGM	His account doesn't vary from anything that's been aid so far, save his description after entering the woods. He claims that the Vonayan recon mislead them, and instigated mutiny. He further claims that it was Stieglitz's intention to degrade his command to take glory from the field.
	TheResilientGM	The Vonayan Colonel stands.
	TheResilientGM	Lieutenant Koss now shifts the blame to Corporal Yonova. He charges him with serious offenses against the chain of command. Schoenfeld silences him, citing that the medic is already in custody and awaiting his own trial.
	TheResilientGM	Stieglitz ends the Lieutenant's testimony for him, calling upon witnesses of his own.
	TheResilientGM	"Private Artem Gusarov."
	Artem_Gusarov	stands, maintaining a neutral expression
	TheResilientGM	The Commissar stands out of the way, "Approach the bench."
	Artem_Gusarov	approaches the bench
	TheResilientGM	"Will you testify on the veracity of the events as you witnessed them, maintaining only the truth in your testimony, in the name of the God-Emperor of Man?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Yes."
	TheResilientGM	"Please take the stand."

	TheResilientGM	"For the record, could you give the tribunal your full name and rank in service of the Emperor?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Private Artem Gusarov, Vonayan 23rd, 2nd Company, 4th Platoon."
	TheResilientGM	"When was the first time, Private Gusarov, that you linked with the Prithian Vanguard on this planet?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"About two weeks after my regiment first made planetfall. My platoon was to rendezvous with one of the first squads of the Prithian 79th, 2nd Company near Landing Zone Delta One."
	TheResilientGM	"What events brought you to link with the Vonayan elements so far North of this island?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"I had direct orders from both my captain, Maxim Daniilovich, and later my Colonel, Armin Stieglitz, to rendezvous with the rest of my Company in the North."
	Artem_Gusarov	"So I fought through the enemy's artillery base between D1 and D2, then marched the rest of the way North with the 79th Prithian's 4th Company."
	TheResilientGM	The Captain continues, "What were your orders at that time?"
	TheResilientGM	Colonel Stieglitz, turns to the Captain, and whispers something to him.
	TheResilientGM	You can't hear the discussion, but whatever it is, it seems to change the Captain's mind.
	TheResilientGM	He looks towards the scribes' table, "Redact that question."
	TheResilientGM	"You then joined up with the Lieutenant's Platoon, is that correct?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Yes."
	TheResilientGM	"And you both were to travel North, through the woodlands?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Yes."
	TheResilientGM	"At what point, then, did you divert your course?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"When I came within vox range of my Company. I was informed that the rendezvous point was changed to another point further west."
	TheResilientGM	"And what reasons were given for such a dramatic change?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Enemy armor cut off my Company's previous position."
	TheResilientGM	"And did you do your duty, and inform the Lieutenant of the change of location, and the dangerous situation informing that decision?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Yes, I did."

	TheResilientGM	Koss stands up, and desperately exclaims, "this is a lie!"

	TheResilientGM	A storm trooper approaches him and sits him down.
	TheResilientGM	"The accused will remain civil, lest the Commissariat be ceded the authority of oversight in this case."
	TheResilientGM	The commissar standing by the bench nods to the Captain.

	TheResilientGM	"And did you receive a response from the Lieutenant?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Yes. He told me to continue on to the original rendezvous point."
	TheResilientGM	Colonel Schoenfeld now takes over the questioning: "But did you ever receive any confirmation that the Lieutenant had indeed received your warning?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Yes. He specifically told me to continue on to the original rendezvous point, and repeated that after I explained why it had been changed, and why continuing on to it would lead to unnecessary heavy losses."
	Artem_Gusarov	"As it did."
	TheResilientGM	"And what knowledge do you have of the accusation of one Corporal Yonova's impersonation of an officer during this moment?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"During that particular moment, or right now?"
	TheResilientGM	The Colonel looks at Captain Zieten.
	TheResilientGM	The Captain resumes questioning once more: "Do you have any knowledge of a breach of the chain of command by the Corporal?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"Yes."
	TheResilientGM	The Lieutenant looks back, and shoots a piercing glance at Kass.
	TheResilientGM	"No further questions."
	Kass_Yonova	meets the Lieutenant's gaze. Keeping his expression neutral.
	TheResilientGM	We call to the stand Corporal Kass Yonova.
	TheResilientGM	The Storm Trooper standing guard motions for Kass to stand.
	Artem_Gusarov	sits back on the bench
	Kass_Yonova	stands up from the bench, and approaches the stand.
	TheResilientGM	"For the record, state your full name and rank, in the Emperor's service."

	Kass_Yonova	"I know that the second rendezvous point was safer than the initial one given, as it was, according to Artem and his comrades, overrun with enemy armor. To proceed to the initial rendezvous would be suicidal. And it was, for the rest of my platoon, as you know, sir.. The only survivors I knew of, besides my squad, was Trooper Macharius, and Trooper Volgin with an Autocannon. I had no idea...
	Kass_Yonova	...that Lieutenant Koss was even still alive until yesterday."
	TheResilientGM	The officers look at eachother and appear to discuss something.
	TheResilientGM	"We understand that there's a survivor of the incident who is now in your squad?"
	TheResilientGM	Koss seems utterly shocked at the information just given.
	Kass_Yonova	"Two survivors, sir. Troopers Macharius and Volgin, as I mentioned earlier."
	TheResilientGM	"No further questions."
	Kass_Yonova	leaves the stand and takes his seat on the bench.
	TheResilientGM	"We now call Private Macharius to the stand."
	Victrus_Macharius	"Yes Sir"
	Victrus_Macharius	Stands up and makes his way up to the stand

	TheResilientGM	The usual introduction and swearing in takes place, and the questioning commences.
	TheResilientGM	"Private Macharius, were you in fact in Lieutenant's squad during the events in question?"
	Victrus_Macharius	"Yes I and my comrade Arthur were apart of Lieutenant Koss's Squad during the events"
	TheResilientGM	"Was Lieutenant Koss, to your knowledge, informed of the dangers blocking the first rendezvous point and of the need to move to a secondary point of contact?"
	TheResilientGM	Suddenly, an aid in Vonayan uniform approaches the tribunal. He is stopped by guards. He appeard to give some sort of explanation, and is allowed to approach his Colonel.
	Victrus_Macharius	"Yes, we were contacted by the Recon team of that there were several enemy tanks blocking the rendezvous point and we were told to head to the second point, but Lieutenant Koss's decided to push forward to the North""
	TheResilientGM	Lieutenant Koss sinks in his seat. This testimony, he realizes is the end of him.
	TheResilientGM	The Vonayan aid hurries off once more.
	Victrus_Macharius	"along the way we were intercepted by the tanks that we were told about prior to the rendezvous point. Most of the squad was killed after that."
	TheResilientGM	Stieglitz appears hard-pressed to maintain any level of stoicism, suddenly. He speaks on behalf of the tribunal: "No further questions."
	Victrus_Macharius	gets up and heads back to his seat
	TheResilientGM	After a very brief period of deliberation, it is Colonel Schoenfeld who announced the verdict.
	Schneider	leans over to Gru and whispers "Finally we can get the hell outta here."
	TheResilientGM	"It is the Opinion of this tribunal, in the light of the Emperor, that Lieutenant Koss of the Prithian Vanguard is guilty of gross negligence, resulting in the death and destruction of a majority of his forces and the equipment presented to them to accomplish their simple task."
	TheResilientGM	"Stand, Lieutenant."
	TheResilientGM	Koss rises, looking back once more at your bench.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass looks at the Lieutenant. "Emperor have mercy on you," he mutters.
	TheResilientGM	"As per the standards and regulations set by the Prithian General Directorate, your offenses constitute a direct threat to the planetary efforts to lead the sub-sector in the Emperor's service. You demonstrate no regard for these efforts, instead choosing to glorify yourself, and your now accursed family name."
	Gru_Persay	responds to Schneider "Indeed."
	TheResilientGM	"All titles of rank and nobility attained in service to the Emperor are hereby revoked; death by firing squad at Dawn; your body never to return to Prithian soil."
	TheResilientGM	The Captain rises: "All dismissed."
	TheResilientGM	No sooner is the word given, Colonel Stieglitz rushes out.
	TheResilientGM	A Vonayan approaches your bench. The Commissar stops him.
	TheResilientGM	"Word from Colonel Stieglitz..." They share an untrusting stare before the Commissar gets out of his way.
	TheResilientGM	He approaches you carefully:
	TheResilientGM	"Sukas found our base... They have repositioned their artillery and are flushing everyone out of the woods" he looks to Yonova, " the Colonel will get you out of here. You'll all be needed in the front. Schoenfeld will give you your orders."
	TheResilientGM	The man leaves in the same direction as the Colonel.
	Kass_Yonova	"I see." Kass simply says.
	Artem_Gusarov	"Blyat."
	TheResilientGM	The Commissar, you realize, has gone.
	Schneider	"Finally, this shit was borin me to death."
	TheResilientGM	Suddenly, the alarm is raised. Laudhailers everywhere begin transmitting the immediate need to group up and prepare for deployment.
	TheResilientGM	"So... are you free?" asks Vikk.
	Kass_Yonova	"To be honest, I have no idea." Kass looks down at his cuffs and shrugs.
	TheResilientGM	Hector suddenly gasps for air. Apparently asleep for the proceedings.
	TheResilientGM	The Commissar returns, hand reaching into his coat.
	TheResilientGM	"Yonova," he calls.
	Kass_Yonova	"Sir."
	TheResilientGM	"It seems you've been exonerated... /vital personel/" he pulls out the relevant piece of paper. Your equipment is in the medicae ward.
	TheResilientGM	The Storm Trooper unshackles Kass unceremoniously.
	Kass_Yonova	"Very good, sir."
	Kass_Yonova	rubs his wrists, glad the shackles are off.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass looks to Vikk, "looks like I am free, lets get my gear and form up."
	Schneider	nods "Okay"
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Follow."
	TheResilientGM	Several Arvus transport aircraft land in the now-expanded landing zone on-base. Squads are lined up just outside and ordered to pour in for rapid deployment. Likewise, the Chimera transports available are all used to bring men to the front.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Follows Gru at a 15 feet distance*
	Victrus_Macharius	follows Gru
	TheResilientGM	Others are simply made to march north, following the trails you used during that first day that sealed the fate of Lieutenant Koss.
	Victrus_Macharius	but then decides to follow kass
	Kass_Yonova	At a running pace Kass, with Vikk following, makes his way to the medical ward to get his medical gear, and then the brig for his weapons and ammunition. After retrieving all of his prior equipment and gear he finds the rest of the squad.
	TheResilientGM	"Sgt. Mauler" a man suddenly approaches your group. He doesn't bother stopping to salute, he simply motions you to follow him.
	Victrus_Macharius	runs to the quarter master to get as much auto canon ammo as possible
	TheResilientGM	"You get to attach your controversial asses to my command for this operation."
	TheResilientGM	The quartermaster's depot is extremely busy.
	Kass_Yonova	"Aye sir."
	TheResilientGM	Every unprepared squad is lined up to acquire whatever equipment and ammo it can before deployment.
	Victrus_Macharius	says to self "Fuck"
	TheResilientGM	"We have the pleasure of using one of them" he points to the sky as an Arvus transport flies by.
	Schneider	checks his flamer and long las while humming.
	TheResilientGM	"Flying metal coffins, the damned things. But the only thing I CAN promise you is blood. Either way, I'm not a liar."
	TheResilientGM	He picks up his pace, expecting you to keep up.
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Hurry."
	Alexandr_Harmon	*still following Gru*
	Schneider	looks over to Gru "Hey you want this?" He offers him his M36 lasgun.
	Victrus_Macharius	turns and books it to catch up with the rest of the squad
	Gru_Persay	"No thanks, I'm not trained with it."
	TheResilientGM	A lander has come to a stop in front of a waiting squad. Mauler, now at a jog's pace gets in front of the group. After a short exchange with the men, he signals you over to board.
	Victrus_Macharius	finally catches up with the squad
	Schneider	shrugs and hands it to Hector. "Just thought I'd offer."
	Kass_Yonova	climbs aboard, taking a seat inside and strapping himself in.
	Victrus_Macharius	"well it looks like we wound have any ammo for the auto canon this time"
	Gru_Persay	climbs into the ship and says
	Gru_Persay	"Well, fuck. Just get on."
	Victrus_Macharius	follows kass and climbs aboard as well
	TheResilientGM	"GET ON, LADIES. YOU'RE HOLDING UP THE WHOLE WAR EFFORT!"
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Inside. Metal. Bird."
	Schneider	gets in and secures his gear.
	TheResilientGM	Meat enters the vehicle and collapses inside.
	Gru_Persay	"That will do pig."
	Alexandr_Harmon	*5 feet away from Gru*
	Victrus_Macharius	"well meat is totally ready for this"
	Artem_Gusarov	checks his weapons and gets in
	Gru_Persay	secures Meat to the floor.
	Gru_Persay	sits downs and straps in.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Straps in nect to Gru*
	TheResilientGM	The Sergeant gets on board, shuts the doors, and straps himself into the seat just behind the cockpit. He bangs on the wall, and the pilot does the same in acknowledgment.
	TheResilientGM	The engines fire up once more.
	Victrus_Macharius	takes a seat and secures himself for take off
	TheResilientGM	The transport takes off, it's a rough ride from the start.
	TheResilientGM	The Sergeant points to a dataslate, with details of the squad frequencies to tune into.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*whispers to Gru* "nice weather we're having."
	Gru_Persay	"I will strap you on the floor next to Meat."
	Victrus_Macharius	looks over at Alexandr
	TheResilientGM	Outside the port and starboard windows, you can see the various aircraft and APC transports advancing North. This is by far the largest offensive in the campaign yet.
	Victrus_Macharius	"please do that Gru if he continues to be like that"
	Schneider	looks at Alexandr and shakes his head.
	Kass_Yonova	tunes his micro-bead into the various frequencies that will be used.

	Gru_Persay	uses his mechandrite to slap Harmon and says "Oops, sorry."
	TheResilientGM	The transport descends now, and you find yourselves in the smoke plume. It's thick; you know the damage must be extensive.

	TheResilientGM	You fly low, past the area you know to be the location of the Vonayan base. There is heavy damage. You can't see any structure through the smoke and fire.

	TheResilientGM	As you approach the LZ, you realize the Guard is using the facility that took the Valkyrie strikes a few days ago as a point of deployment.

	Gru_Persay	"That facility is still standing? We saw it get blown to bits.""
	TheResilientGM	"MEAT. BIRD."

	Alexandr_Harmon	"Meat. Friends?"
	TheResilientGM	The arvus makes a quick and rough landing on the rooftop of the facility. The Sergeant quickly unstraps himself, and opens the doors.
	TheResilientGM	"Out! Go, go go!"
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Unstraps and runs out*
	Gru_Persay	unstraps himself then Meat.
	TheResilientGM	In the distance you hear the sounds of lasgun fire, roaring of engines... and the sound of artillery.
	Victrus_Macharius	unstraps self and heads out the ship
	Schneider	readies his long las before heading down the ramp with Hector not far behind.
	Victrus_Macharius	pulls out lasgun
	Gru_Persay	readies autogun and says "Meat. FOLLOW. STAY. CLOSE."
	Kass_Yonova	unbuckles his restraints and readies his lasgun, followin the squad out.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Readies lasgun*
	Gru_Persay	follows Schneider.
	TheResilientGM	Mauler leads you to the ledge, where rappel hooks have been secured.
	TheResilientGM	"I sure hope your toy can make it down there, Cog-boy."
	TheResilientGM	The sergeant straps himself in.
	Gru_Persay	"If by make it down there, you mean fall then yes. Will he survive? Probably No."
Gru_Persay	"Any other way down?"
	TheResilientGM	"Before those guns train themselves on this barely-standing piece of rubble? No."
	TheResilientGM	Not far from you, an entire infantry segment is wiped out by several rounds of artillery.
	TheResilientGM	The Sergeant begins his descent.
	Kass_Yonova	secures himself to the rappel, following the Sergeant's example.
	Schneider	slides down the rope and begins to secure the area with Hector.
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Climb. Down. Carefully."
	Victrus_Macharius	follows Kass lead and straps himself onto the rappel hook

	Kass_Yonova	"Sure beats outrunning an air-strike."
	Gru_Persay	climbs down the rope.
	TheResilientGM	"MEAT" the servitor simply stares down from the rooftop.
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Jump."
	Victrus_Macharius	watches as meat prepares to jump
	TheResilientGM	"MEAT." A single, concise word. The last thing he says before he lets gravity do its job.
	TheResilientGM	He falls like a brick.
	Gru_Persay	checks on Meat for damages. Gru Says "Meat?"
	TheResilientGM	"GET A MOVE ON, GO!" Mauler calls.
	Victrus_Macharius	"is meat alright?"
	Kass_Yonova	"Moving!" Kass yells, before moving up.
	TheResilientGM	In front of you, the remains of the trench and bunker systems that were left after the heavy ordnance.
	Victrus_Macharius	follows Kass
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Follow."
	Alexandr_Harmon	Follows Victrus
	TheResilientGM	Mauler signals everyone to stop just before the trench; fist clenched.
	Schneider	switches to his flamer and lights the pilot light.
	Victrus_Macharius	stops
	TheResilientGM	He wields his chainsword and laspistol.
	TheResilientGM	+Flamer, on that bunker. Make it quick.+
	Kass_Yonova	takes a knee after stopping. Sweeping his lasgun to and for.
	Alexandr_Harmon	Wields shotgun
	Gru_Persay	lowers himself and aims down the iron sights.
	TheResilientGM	From your flank, 3 men charge with bayonetts at the flamer-wielding menace.
	TheResilientGM	"FOR THE DUKE!"
	Schneider	turns to the men and fire his flamer "For FUCK YOU!
	TheResilientGM	The men all disappear behind the fire, as it clears, two of them lie on the ground, screaming in agony. A third, while on fire, picks up the desperate charge.
	Schneider	moves out of the way of the charge "Hector this one's still alive!"
	TheResilientGM	Hector reacts, and hits the man with the butt of his weapon, knocking him off-balance.
	TheResilientGM	"MMMEEAAATT"
	Victrus_Macharius	"shit, that was close"
	TheResilientGM	The servitor tackles the man, ignoring the fire.
	Gru_Persay	"MEAT. NO. AWAY. MAN."
	TheResilientGM	Sgt Mauler approaches the group, and fires a las round at the enemy.
	TheResilientGM	Out of the original bunker you were going to assault, exit several rebels, hands in the air, in surrender.
	TheResilientGM	"Out of the trenches, now!" commands Mauler.
	TheResilientGM	+Keep them in your sights+
	Kass_Yonova	+Do we have orders to take any prisoners, Sarge?+
	Gru_Persay	leaps in the trenches and says "Meat. Follow."
	Schneider	"If you bastards don't wanna end up like them crispy critters you'll be real nice understand?"
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Follows Gru*
	TheResilientGM	He approaches them, holstering his chainsword and laspistol.
	TheResilientGM	He reaches for shackles, "On the floor!"
	Gru_Persay	checks on Meat for any damages.
	TheResilientGM	Vikk approaches, weapon fixed on the surrendering troops.
	TheResilientGM	They fall to their knees.
	Schneider	considers keeping Mauler covered with his flamer then motions Hector to do it.
	TheResilientGM	Mauler restrains one from behind and kicks him forward face-first onto the ground.
	TheResilientGM	He repeats this for the other soldier.
	TheResilientGM	By the third one, he has no more restraints.
	Alexandr_Harmon	"Why don't we just kill them Mauler?"
	TheResilientGM	He walks away from them, and looks to the horizon.

	TheResilientGM	Mauler scans the field with his magnoculars.

	TheResilientGM	Sgt Mauler turns around, "what the feck are we waiting for?
	Alexandr_Harmon	*With the butt of the shotgun i bash it into the right and left shin of the rebel*
	Gru_Persay	repairs Meat's legs.
	TheResilientGM	The soldier is injured, though not completely incapacitated. He attempt to run back to the bunker.
	TheResilientGM	He trips and falls.
	Kass_Yonova	"I'll take care of it."
	Kass_Yonova	"Vikk hold him down for me."
	TheResilientGM	"Aye" Vikk approaches the downed man.
	Alexandr_Harmon	"What a cute little thing trying to runaway"
	TheResilientGM	He holds him into place.
	Gru_Persay	climbs out of the trenches and says "What the hell is going on?"
	Kass_Yonova	rummages through his medical gear, finding the appropriate drug. He loads an injector and gives the guy a "knock-out" cocktail.
	Alexandr_Harmon	"we're taking care of business."
	Victrus_Macharius	watches as Kass injects the drug
	Kass_Yonova	"This'll knock him out for at least two days."
	Kass_Yonova	+Prisoners are secure, Sarge.+
	TheResilientGM	+Move out.+
	Artem_Gusarov	flicks the safety on his rifle back on
	Kass_Yonova	stows his medical gear and readies his lasgun.
	TheResilientGM	He doesn't wait for you. He moves up along a line of destroyed AA guns.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*Follows Gru*
	Gru_Persay	motions Meat to follow and moves with the squad.
	Victrus_Macharius	says to Kass "i think you should use that stuff on Alexandr when he get really annoying next time"
	TheResilientGM	"Poor Amis..." the Sgt says to himself as he passes the weapon positions.
	Schneider	secures his flamer and pulls out his long las.
	Kass_Yonova	"That would be a waste of vital medical supplies, trooper."
	Victrus_Macharius	"just a thought"
	TheResilientGM	"Everyone up here!" Mauler calls you up to a large pile of rubble.
	Alexandr_Harmon	*over hears conversion between Kass and Victrus*
	Victrus_Macharius	head over to Sargent Mauler
	Kass_Yonova	Kass climbs up the rubble, stopping next to Mauler.
	TheResilientGM	+It's a fucking dead-zone up ahead. Artillery saturate that entire passage.+ he says as he looks through his magnoculars.
	TheResilientGM	Up ahead, you see the advance come to a halt. Squads desperately trying to fall back and find cover. It's carnage.
	Schneider	"Hector and I were good at sneakin up on badgers maybe we can find a route through without runnin into the arty."
	TheResilientGM	"Notice the rounds. The shit hitting the infantry are mortars. Let's find their position."
	Kass_Yonova	"Aye sir."
	TheResilientGM	The Sergeant moves up along a rock formation to the North.
	Artem_Gusarov	"Mortars, up ahead, past the rocks!"
	Schneider	"How far?"
	Artem_Gusarov	"About right behind it. Probably using the formation as cover."
	Schneider	"How about we head up into them and have a look see?"
	TheResilientGM	"Vonayan and Schneider, move up along that rock formation. Give me numbers, and get ready for a surprise attack. The rest of you on me. We'll flank around their rear and attack while their provide cover."
	Schneider	nods to Mauler and motions Hector to follow.
	Artem_Gusarov	nods and pulls his cloak around him and sneaks ahead to scout them out
	Kass_Yonova	"Roger that."
	Schneider	moves up with Artem into the rocks.
	TheResilientGM	As you move up along the rock formation, it increases in altitude. You eventually come to a break in the formation behind which you spot 3 mortar batteries firing. There appears to be a comms chimera variant from which they are receiving their coordinates: you can see an officer race back and forth from the vehicle with written down coordinates which he passes onto the mortar teams. There
	TheResilientGM	are appear to be no designated guards, however - machinegun nest completely abandoned.
	Artem_Gusarov	relays the info via vox
	TheResilientGM	Mauler signals the squad to follow him.
	Kass_Yonova	keeps pace with Mauler, making sure Vikk is on his six.
	Schneider	finds a spot to lay down in the rocks "Watch this."
	TheResilientGM	+Get in position. We'll be there soon. Wait for the command.+

	Victrus_Macharius	moves up with the rest of the squad

	TheResilientGM	The bundled up ammunition is hit. In an instant, all three mortars disappear from their positions, debris striking the rock formations all around. The officer is split in half by a large metal shard. The Chimera itself appears to take crippling damage on its tracks. Another piece of metal flies by the approaching squad, approaching Victrus at lethal speed.

	Schneider	's laughing can be heard after the blast
	Artem_Gusarov	"Emperor damn it, fung, you almost killed Schneider."
	Schneider	looks at Artem. "How did I do?"
	Victrus_Macharius	seeing the metal flying towards him, he jumps as fast out of the way as tucks and rolls. The piece of Metal misses him by only a few feet.
	TheResilientGM	+We'll be talking about this later+ Mauler charges the position chainsword and laspistol at the ready.

	Kass_Yonova	Kass follows, keeping his lasgun ready.
	TheResilientGM	From inside the Chimera a very confused, probably deaf comms officer comes out to look at the damage.

	TheResilientGM	Upon arriving at the position, Mauler slows his pace, looking at the survivor with contempt.

	TheResilientGM	+Tech-priest, take a look at the comms systems inside and tell me if they're still in working order.+
	TheResilientGM	Mauler turns to Yonova.
	Gru_Persay	sees the chimera and starts scavenging it for parts.
	TheResilientGM	"We seem to be in a hurry."
	Schneider	looks at the giant hole in the ground. "Well that was cool."
	Kass_Yonova	simply nods. "Victrus, are you wounded?"
	Gru_Persay	checks the comms systems.
	Gru_Persay	repairs the minor damage to the system
	Victrus_Macharius	"nope, It just missed me by a few feet luckily"
	TheResilientGM	Mauler enters the Chimera, joining Gru.
	Gru_Persay	"Should be working., Sarge"
	TheResilientGM	"Get me in touch with 2nd Company Command."
	Gru_Persay	scan the frequencies and connects 2nd Company Command.
	Gru_Persay	"All yours."
	Gru_Persay	goes back to scavenging the wreckage.
	TheResilientGM	"Company Command, this is Sergeant Franz Mauler. Passage along the North should be clear from mortar fire... yes, sir... of course. Understood... for the Emperor, sir. Mauler out."
	Gru_Persay	repairs Meat's arms.
	Kass_Yonova	"What now, Sarge?"
	TheResilientGM	"We wait here for reinforcements, Corporal. The next phase of this assault won't be pretty. Secure a perimeter and lay low for a while. Vikk and Schneider, take first watch."
	Schneider	nods, "Yes Sir."
	Gru_Persay	continues to scavenge the chimera for parts.
