  1. The miracles mortals employ are a combination of gifts from the gods and collective studies passed down over the generations.

Divine magic is fueled by the great holy web of Mother Earth, a grand manifestation of the goddess influence that covers the entirety of the Allied Kingdoms and the Old World (finding anchors around the Cursed Swamp via an artificial island and a peculiar castle-shrine in the Everpeaks). From grand capital cathedrals to humble village shrines, all communities of mankind can accept divine influences by interacting with shrines maintained by clergy members, with peculiar individuals able to displace strands of Mother Earth influence into their homes. (Like you) Of course, the children of the gods help maintain and fuel this web with the various rituals of the clergy.

  5. Focii are personal items (majority religious symbols) that store some of this awesome power to manifest various miracles. They work by absorbing parts of the practitioner's soul and blood and adapting the strain of miracles to the body; meaning that each Focii is particularly precious for the cleric since ''adjusting'' to a new one will make all miracles severely more costly and painful to endure for a few months.

  7. Each Focii stores enough divine energy to cast 7 daily miracles depending on your hierarchy granted by the church. It's possible to strengthen them depending on your need but, unfortunately, you can't cheat your way out of your Novitiate without going through a proper ritual.

Exhausting this limit doesn't stop the cleric from channeling the gods gifts but this will manifest into internal pain and fatigue that -can- turn deadly with overuse (internal hemorrhage is a genuine risk). The damage here can take weeks to months of recuperation with magical help; moderation is important or, perhaps, convincing someone else to accept this pain...

  11. Communion is the practice of transferring the cost of divine magic onto willing recipients. It is a long, storied ritual that has helped mankind endure the crisis of the various Demon Lords throughout the generations of conflicts. Even normal people can contribute here, but the master has to be cautious because it's very possible to kill innocents by channeling stronger miracles.

  13. The majority of the clergy remains novices, the militant and administrative arms are fairly separate. An archbishop of a cathedral could only be a novice with miracles since they are NOT rituals.

  15. The higher steps of the militant branches (inquisitors, Cleric of the Path, Paladins, Cultists of the Fist, etc) demand higher masteries of the gods miracles.

  17. Before we begin with the list of Novitiate spells, I will explain Mother Earth signature miracle. This peculiar manifestation of her will only require an attuned Focii to be used: all of the church footsoldiers use it and none of them need to be a novice to be part of this infantry. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say this miracle was foundational for the nations of the Allied Kingdoms and the Old World.

  19. Mother Earth Aegis
  20. A golden shield of Holy energy manifests around the user Focii (can also enchant a regular shield) and remains stalwart in hand capable of repulsing force and magic alike.
  21. From enduring the bone-crushing strikes of a minotaur to extinguishing a mage fireball, an Aegis is often the only gift of the gods a warrior needs.

  25. Novice Miracles
  26. Mother Earth.

  28. Healing: Often mistaken as the Good Mother's truest gift, this miracle is self-explanatory: the manipulation of Holy energy to close wounds has saved countless lives and will continue to do so.
  29. Invigoration: Replenish the target's stamina, often used to fight off diseases. This miracle is notoriously inefficient fuel-wise: one use of it requires 3 of your Focii daily limit.
  30. Internal Cleansing: Remove poison, drugs, and alcohol in the target body. Also works against magically induced effects.
  31. Guidance: Allows the cleric to instinctively know the way back to the nearest shrine of the Good Mother connected to her web.
  32. Light: Conjure a torch-like spell. Simple and so very useful when you need it.
  33. Purification: An employ of Holy energy to purge surrounding Corruption or transfer Corruption from someone else into the cleric. Horrendously painful to employ.

  35. Father Sky
  36. Eyes of Truth: Enchant the cleric's eyes to peer into all branches of the World Tree simultaneously without damaging his brain. This allows the user to identify the colors of souls and see all potential otherworldly entities or spirits lurking around.
  37. Burning Soul: Light the recipient soul on fire, becoming lethal against Outsiders and other soul predators. A controversial miracle since it is the source of many long-term soul illnesses: to be used sparingly.
  38. Bird Eyes (Night only): Change one's perspective into a Nightbird, one of Father Sky's now-extinct heralds. Allows one to travel the sky as a bird for an hour without physically moving.
  39. Soul Links: establish a temporary link of souls with all the benefits and negatives this implies, although the Good Father shields you from lethal consequences if your recipient passes away during the miracle.
  40. Neutral Grounds: Calm all emotions around the cleric (30ft) for a few minutes, imposing a sense of neutrality. This is no mental domination or illusions, only emotions are affected.
  41. Cloud Cloak: Imbue the cleric with a physical cloak of clouds for a few minutes, making it much harder to be seen in the dark.
