- I want to put more effort into my stream and grow it a bunch more. I reflected on my stream a bit last night and for the most part it's really barebones and simple in terms of actual features. In a sense that's good, but I feel like I can do more and can be more appealing and grow it if I add a few new things to it, or at least experiment more. I've been entertaining about 30-50 viewers average a night for about a year and a half now, which is still really dang good, but I know I can do better and reach out to more people if I put more effort into making my stream look good. I also want to make the push for Twitch partner a bit too since I feel I can do that with more effort (mostly for the emotes. I really really really love emotes). My stream is very important to me. It's something I'm passionate about and I want to see it do better, while at the same time still keeping it personalized and what I would like to see out of a stream I enjoy watching. Here's a few ideas I have atm and my reasoning behind them:
- - FACECAM: I've been debating using this regularly for a while. I've had a few rare streams where I used facecam and honestly I'm starting to like the idea of using it the more I think about it and watch other streams that use it. It adds a more personal connection to the stream and a little more of an entertainment factor depending on what happens. Also figured out how to delay my webcam to fit my capture card so audio and video will be in sync and that will no longer be a problem. I like my streams without them a ton still and I know I don't need it to be entertaining or hold interest, plus more people find no cam streams a lot more comfy typically because of the lack of cam, but I want to try testing the waters a bit at least and see if it sticks right with me.
- - LAYOUTS: I might also get a few simple layouts done for when I stream 4:3, 16:9, and GBA games, because it's nicer to look at mostly. On the fence about this atm, but I could try out an actual layout in the future just to see if I like it. I know someone who would do layouts for me without much hassle btw, before someone asks.
- - DONATIONS AND ALERTS: Another thing I might also do in the future is remove the text in my profile that says I don't need donations atm and add alerts to my stream for them. I'm unsure about alerts atm, but I know I don't want to add an alert unless it's creative in some way while also being not too distracting. Point of this is that I want to work towards moving out of my parents' house sometime hopefully in the near future and every little bit will help with that, even though I have a job currently and money saved up. It would help a lot but it's never something I ever want to rely on.
- - STREAM SCHEDULE: I wish I could promise a consistent streaming schedule of some sorts, but at the very least I want to do my best to stream almost every day per week, no matter what it is I stream. I can't stream Mondays because of my Smash 4 weekly being that day, but every other day of the week is a goal of mine. I at least want to try to go live by 8:30pm PST every night, then stream until I'm tired, which is typically around 12:30am PST. Consistently streaming at a certain time is one of the most important things you can do to gain an audience while streaming and I haven't done a good job at that recently, so I want to get back to doing that.
- - CASUAL: There's a lot of games I want to play casually as well that I haven't gotten to yet, mostly on DS, Gamecube, and PC atm. Holding out for whenever Loopy releases his New 3DS XL capture cards still btw so I can stream DS and 3DS stuff again. Need to make a list of everything I want to casual that I can currently stream because there's a lot.
- - DS GAMES: I still feel like a lot of what made my stream special in the past was not only just because of me but because of the games I played too, mostly the DS games. The DS is my favorite system and there's a lot I'd like to explore still on the console both casually and in terms of speedrunning. Not being able to stream DS games for me is a little disheartening for me considering my channel started with streaming Kirby Squeak Squad runs and a few other DS and 3DS games initially. May or may not end up doing something similar to TheMexicanRunner's NESmania or Puri_Puri's PSXplosion in the future but with DS games. I'll need a lot more free time though to maintain something like that, so if I do this it won't be for a long while, but I'm interested. I have a flash cart so I wouldn't have to pay for a majority of games either.
- That's about all I have for now. If you have any suggestions, let me know. I don't want to go overboard in any way and end up making things worse for the average viewer in the end. My goal for every stream is self-improvement, providing a chill or comfy environment, and hopefully brightening up someone's day/night a bit. If I can do that at the very least, then I'm happy.
