- >It's like February third and Susie has long since faced the music:
- >She likes Kris, in like, a romantic way.
- >Calling it a crush helped make it abit less awkward at first but it's past that point now for her
- >It's more annoying than awkward now because Susie knows Kris feels the same
- >He just hasn't faced his own goddamn music yet like a coward
- >So now Susie's resolved to do what comes naturally to her
- >She's gonna get aggressive.
- >More aggressive than she's already been, anyway, if she wanted to corner him by Valentine's like she planned
- >Her first goal was the New Year, but her advances and approaches were too sly for him apparently
- >All of them got infuriatingly brushed off or excused away somehow
- >Tried to hold his hand while they ate lunch together
- >He chuckled about how cold it was and made some dumb joke about gloves
- >Later tried to put her arm around him on their walk home
- >He asked her if she was fucking feeling woozy.
- >A full day of working up the nerve lost to his dumb ass
- >She even tried wearing just the smallest bit of makeup one day to see if it would change anything
- >They barely talked that day and if Kris noticed he certainly didn't say anything about it.
- >Susie was at her wits' end, but she had one final plan.
- >They were hanging out this weekend at her place to watch some movies
- >It's just close enough to Valentine's that it'll certainly be on his mind even if just alittle.
- >She's gonna lure him into her trap and leave him no way to weasel out.
- >It's still like February third and Kris is desperately to ignore the advances of his friend who he's certain that he's only projecting his crush on.
- >All the alternatives were either heartbreaking or too good to be true
- >That time Susie grabbed his hand? Was a blisteringly cold day out and she doesn't have any gloves.
- >He knows she doesn't because he spent like two weeks looking online for gloves big enough for her hands that also accommodated her claws
- >He ended up settling on just getting her a scarf that had some menacing looking spikes on the end.
- >That time she spent the whole walk home leaning on him? She had barely touched her lunch that day for some reason
- >She must've been lightheaded out of hunger. He worried that something was up but she was alright if abit annoyed the next day.
- >Trying to ignore his crush was debilitating. Kris remembered one day that she looked just the slightest bit cuter than she normally did and it nearly killed him.
- >You'd assume that someone acquainted with ripping their own heart out would be more accustomed to it freaking out, but it took him all of his effort to keep from coughing up his heart that day.
- >Could barely talk to her the whole day.
- >But it was all good! The two of them were going to hang out after school this weekend
- >They were gonna chill out and watch movies together all night, Susie had picked out
- >Kris had to barter with his mom to let him stay the night, traded a 90 or better on his next Geography test for it
- >After two nights of all nighters he got a 91.
- >Just good enough.
- >Fast forward a tad
- >The two were just getting to Susie's place, snacks from a grocery store pit stop in tow
- >They had the works, a two liter of soda each, Twizzlers and other candies, Susie even bought name brand popcorn instead of store brand.
- >She was pulling out all the stops, and he didn't know the half of it
- >The two dropped their bags in Susie's room
- >She had a crappy old TV in there that they saved from the curb one day and a DVD player to go with it.
- >Susie tossed Kris a bunch of movie cases as she closed the blinds her mom opened to wake her up this morning
- >Her mom knew about the two of them hanging out tonight
- >To Susie's dismay the request was met with a talk about safe sex and a condom given with a wink after her "Alright"
- >Still had the condom in her bedside drawer but she wasn't planning on fucking Kris
- >Just corner him and get an "I like you" out of the weaselly fuck
- >Kris glanced through the selection
- >Alot of action movies, Susie's typical taste, but afew of them were the odd sort of comedies he liked.
- >Some of the action movies were rated R, nice.
- >He chose one of her movies to start with and left to throw the popcorn in the microwave
- >Passed her mom in the living room, she made some comment about treating her daughter well tonight
- >Kris told her that he would but she only laughed in response, the double meaning flying over his head
- >He came back with the popcorn to find Susie waiting on her bed with the player's remote in hand
- >"Took you long enough, did you have to pop each kernel on its own or some shit?"
- >Kris laughed and sat on the floor next to her bed
- >"Something like that, yeah."
- >Susie was already not having any of his shit.
- >"You know you can sit up here, right? We're gonna be watching for a while."
- >Susie kept going, giving him a devilish smile.
- >"Unless you're some sort of weirdo that likes sitting around on the floor."
- >He joined her, sitting on the bed like she asked
- >"I just didn't wanna impose I guess, not really anywhere else to sit really"
- >Susie knew this, she put the beanbag chair he usually sat in her closet so he wouldn't have it tonight.
- >Her master plan unfolding as she started the movie
- >The movies were good, the two were enjoying theirselves.
- >Susie was crept closer as time went by, closing the physical distance until they were practically side by side.
- >Every time she pulled a twizzler from the bag she would tear it in half and throw the other half at him so that they were "splitting" the bag
- >Now that they were close and it was a quiet bit of the movie, it was time for her first strike of the night
- >Susie put half of a Twizzler in the front bit of her mouth and turned to Kris
- >"I can't be assed to rip this one in half, just take this half here n now"
- >Kris looked at her confused and just alittle like he was holding something back
- >Because he was
- >"A-Alright then."
- >He reached out to take a chunk but Susie snorted as he did, talking around the candy
- >"Just bite off what you want and I'll take the rest loser."
- >Now he was confused and nervous, but Susie's preparation for the night meant that she was ready and resolved for this moment.
- >He leant over and bit off a chunk, eyes trained on the TV so that they wouldn't make eye contact with their faces inches from each others
- >She downed the rest of it, grumbling as she turnt back to the movie
- >"Could've taken more, ya know."
- >Kris stared a thousand yard stare past the TV, trying to justify what she had just done and said without coming to the obvious conclusion
- >It was a struggle, but he could always just try and forget it and watch the movie
- >Susie was grinning about how Kris was handling what just happened
- >Her plan was working perfectly, and she had a contingency for him just ignoring it and focusing on the movie
- >The late winter day had turnt to night, the closed blinds only kept out streetlight and kept in the light of the TV by this point
- >With the movie ending, Kris went to go shuffle through their dwindling pile of films they hadn't seen yet to find something to put on now.
- >Susie stopped him, pulling out a movie she had kept from him at first.
- >"I wanna watch this next, hope you don't mind."
- >Kris didn't recognize the film but he trusted her choice
- >"Sure, don't see why not"
- >That's exactly what Susie thought you would say you dumb bitch.
- >She chose this movie very specifically. It was action like all the films she liked, with a gray male lizard and a human female as the leads.
- >Critics panned it for going to hard on the romance subplot two thirds into the movie
- >Heard about "the scene" partway through where they smash faces for way too long
- >Absolutely perfect for what she needed
- >Drew even closer to Kris and draped an arm over him
- >Really laying it thick for this one and Kris' brain was firing on all cylinders
- >If he ignored Susie and focuses on the movie he just ends up projecting onto the lady swooning over the big lizard
- >Ignore the odd-to-a-highschooler implications of identifying with the female eyecandy and focus on real life?
- >Well then he had to handle the implications of being in his best friend/crush's room alone, late at night, on her bed, with her practically laying all over him
- >He had stopped thinking right when they got to "the scene"
- >Even his brain was stammering
- >Susie was sitting up now, it was time for the killing blow
- >She let her snout rest on one shoulder and laid her hand on the other
- >Shooting him an evil glare and grin
- >She wasn't sure what he was focusing on anymore
- >He was focusing on ignoring his brain and his body and achieving zen in her bedroom.
- >Just alittle hard between the movie facemashing and all of Susie's physical contact
- >Susie had broken her poor dear friend Kris, but it had to be done
- >A single night of him being in awkward agony was barely equivalent to the last few months of her nervous attempts to flirt with him
- >It was time for her to finish off her prey
- >"Hey Kris, you're lookin alil shaken up there, huh. Something up?"
- >His voice cracked as he stammered abit and tried to collect a response
- >"I. I. I'm just really liking this movie. These are some good characters, good acting n all."
- >It was a poor excuse, and for the second time that night it was exactly what Susie thought Kris was going to say
- >What a dumb cute fool he was
- >"Really likin' the movie huh? I bet you're getting a real kick outta right now then huh."
- >Despite all reason "that scene" was still going. Susie really knew now why reviews said it kind of took away from the rest of the film.
- >But Kris was stammering something between "I don't know" and "I mean I guess" now
- >And that was more important to capitalize on, lifting her hand off his shoulder and dragging one claw across his back
- >He shuddered at the touch
- >"I bet a freak like you would really like to try and reenact what's goin' on, wouldn't you."
- >She kept interrupting his stuttering, getting closer and closer to him
- >Her heart beating in her ears for the first time that night
- >"I wouldn't mind to if you just told me that you liked me like that."
- >Susie had faced the music on liking Kris months ago.
- >With the whole goddamn band blaring in his ear, he did too.
- >Or maybe the figurative band shattering his figurative eardrums just drove him mad
- >He spoke a clear quiet "Yes."
- >Susie won, but she wanted to gloat.
- >"Hmm? Yes what? You're going to have to be abit clearer buddy."
- >Kris didn't respond again, opting instead to grab Susie's head and lunge into a kiss
- >Susie fell back from his lunge.
- >One of Kris' hands went to her waist while the other held onto her face, keeping it still so he could land his series of smooches and kisses
- >Susie was on the back foot now and couldn't let it stay that way. She appreciated his newfound forward nature but she still wanted to hear him say it.
- >She pushed him back abit, holding him just far away enough that he couldn't land his mouth to her face anymore
- >"I'm still waiting for my answer Kris."
- >He's looking at her with all his dumb excuses running through his head
- >How long had he denied himself the sus
- >Kris kissed the closest part of her he could get at, her arm between admissions of how much he liked her
- >She was laying back now, Kris poised over her
- >Despite her best efforts Susie was getting swept up in his pace
- >When she let him go with an "I love you too" after hearing his confession she expected they would go back to kissing but Kris worked his way back up instead
- >Kissing up her arms and her neck before going back to kissing her face
- >Susie sure hopes Kris didn't notice the moan she let out when he kissed her neck like that
- >If she hadn't pushed him so far he probably would've, but Kris is pretty into it at this point
- >The hand at her waist going up her shirt is the first warning it may be going abit far
- >She doesn't dislike it per se but he's going pretty fast
- >"Slow down there tiger, aren't you getting abit ahead of yourself?"
- >He's staring at her hard.
- >"You said we'd be reinacting that scene"
- >"Yeah but they're just kissin-"
- >Susie looked over to the TV. Somehow, the heavy romance scene was still going and was way more than just kissing now
- >Confused, she glanced down at the box on the floor and finally noticed the "Extended Director's Cut" tagline
- >She turned back to Kris, finding that he had already taken off his own shirt. His bare chest was wiry, but still arousing
- >Shit, maybe they were going to need that condom after all
