- Vince updates!
- We've posted another update for Voodoo Vince: Remastered today. There are a few important things in this one:
- • Completionists rejoice! A new trolley stop has been added to Inside The Kosmobot, which eliminates the "point of no return." You can now revisit any earlier level to mop up collectibles, even after the game is over to get those last few achievements if you missed them. This works with existing saved games, so you don't have to replay the whole game to enjoy it.
- • Water is now processed on a separate thread. This should improve performance in the Bayou levels and the Square in the Quarter, especially for folks on somewhat older rigs.
- • The game startup code has been updated to help with the infamous "D3D11CreateDeviceAndSwapChain - Failed" notice a few players have reported.
- Update v1.12.14.0 Changelog:

- Just a couple quick updates tonight:
- • Fixed occasional crash related to the pause screen.
- • Re-fixed annoying sound effect in Land o' Rides.
- We rolled out the latest patch for Voodoo Vince: Remastered. Here's what's new:
- • Fixed issues related to installing/playing from external (non-C:) drives. This should help some players who have reported issues with the game not starting.
- • Fixed level inventory pages on the pause menu. Some weren't showing up correctly.
- • Updated to more recent Steam .dll
- • Updated sound streaming to minimize stuttering issues.
- • More detailed dialogs for certain asserts at game launch to help with upcoming bug fixes.
- As always, let us know if you have any issues and/or just want to let us know if things are working smoothly. Feel free to reply to this announcement or contact us here: [email protected]
- We have future upgrades in the works, so stay tuned.
- Update v1.11.17.0 Changelog:
- ________________________________________
- We just rolled out our most recent update to Voodoo Vince: Remastered. This update goes a little deeper than usual to address the issue some players have reported with the game not starting or running. It turns out the issue was mostly due to an incompatibility with D3D feature level 10.1 on certain graphics cards. VV:R now supports D3D feature level 10.1 which is good news for anyone with one of these:
- • ATI Radeon HD 3000/4000 series;
- • Nvidia GT 205-240/GT 300 series;
- • Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandy Bridge)
- If you're running one of these older cards and you're still encountering issues, please let us know!
- We also made the FOV slider official and added it to our Options settings in the Voodoo Shop! Feel free to try it out if you’ve experienced discomfort with the game’s default setting or if you just sit really close to your screen.
- Lots of little and a few big issues addressed in the latest update to Voodoo Vince: Remastered:
- • Fix for game speed slowdown in certain levels that caused Vince to move in slow-mo at times.
- • Removed resolution settings in Options in favor of just windowed and fullscreen based on user’s screen resolution.
- • Carnival ride sound effect changed from shrieking cats to something less murder-inducing.
- • Fix for saved game timestamps in Voodoo Shop being all the same after a cloud save restore.
- • Rare but awful bug where players losing last life after raising the rotating platforms in Inside The Kosmobot could not progress when returning to the level.
- • Improvement to Ghost Trolley map navigation input. It’s easier to move between nodes when choosing a trolley stop now.
- • Level stats now limited correctly for levels played more than once.
- • Fix for controller being active in more than one game window at once.
- We've updated Voodoo Vince: Remastered to address some issues we've heard about since our launch yesterday:
- 1. Some players reported seeing a black screen at launch and/or a freeze at the Beep Games logo screen. This has been fixed.
- 2. Fixed issues with toggling full screen mode on/off with certain high end monitors.
- 3. Fixed bug that caused animation and physics to run at hyper speed when monitor refresh rate was set to higher than 60hz.
- 4. Fixed Pin Swing keyboard bug that prevented using the move while Vince is in mid-air.
- 5. Fixed rare crash in Busy Butler level. As it was caused by audio cross fade this may fix issues in other parts of the game.
