Silas - earth IN

Today was the day, Silas had to go and get started with his magic training, he was feeling a bit nervous as he had no idea what was awaiting for him neither did he know how the training is supposed to work as he wasn't told anything in regards to it, he was only told to meet up with a mentor named "Birathan" who's supposed to mentor him in regards to learning Earth magic so he can move on to learning metal magic to use for his work.

Silas just stared at his clock next to his bed and sighed " let's just hope I don't get my bones crushed by rocks today..I have work tomorrow as well, maybe today wasn't the smartest idea to pick for training.." he thought to himself as he face palmed, he was starting to slightly regret his decision but it was too late to back out or re schedule, so bone crushing it is for today. He got out of bed and stretched " maybe it wouldn't be so bad, I'm going to finally learn how to use freaking magic after all of this time, never knew about it until some what recently, it's probably gonna be fun, imagine what I could possibly do with it! On second thought...earth magic seems mostly useful for gardening or something like that...yeah..I should just focus on getting good enough in it to learn metal magic.." he thought to himself as he was getting himself ready, he had finished packing a bag for himself while he was talking to himself, it had extra clothes, a towel and a bunch of water bottles to keep himself hydrated and cool, he thought of training similar to training in the gym so he was basically preparing a gym bag for himself but for magic training. He placed the bag on his bed " seems good enough for now, gotta not forget about the snacks and lunch though, will get those before I go out. " he said to himself verbally as he grabbed another towel before heading into the bathroom to shower, he took a quick shower and brushed his teeth, even though he was heading out to do training that would require him to shower again afterwards, Silas liked to keep himself clean and presentable, a good trait about him. He brushed his hair out, taking extra care of it and making sure it looked nice, he placed the brush down as he stared at himself in the mirror " looking good today " he said to himself as he gestured finger guns to his reflection(he's being cringe).

Silas went to his bedroom and he began to dress up, he wore a tank up with a pair of shorts, he was wearing light clothes to prevent himself from overheating and to help keep his body well ventilated, he sat on the edge of his bed and put on some fingerless boots, he is usually barefoot unless he has to go out especially somewhere that wouldn't have a smooth surface or might potentially have sharp objects that would stab his foot. He grabbed his bag " alright, all I need is my lunch and I'm ready to leave " he thought to himself as he got up and walked to his kitchen, he went up to his fridge and opened it, looking around for a moment before grabbing a tupperware and placing it in a separate pocket in his bag, he grabbed a drink as well " gonna have this on the way to training, hopefully that helps keep me cool on my way " he said to him before closing the fridge, he grabbed an apple from the small basket that was on the kitchen counter and put it in his bag before zipping everything shut. He checked himself and his belongings once, making sure he had everything that he needed on him before he headed to the front door and left his home.

Silas made his way down the street, he had a bit of distance to cover before he made it to the portal that he was supposed to take to where his mentor supposedly is. " this gonna be a long walk ugh, maybe I should have taken another portal or something to cut the distance even though I hate them " he said to himself as he opened the drink in his hand and took a sip. Silas dislikes portals after a very bad interaction he had with one that sent him somewhere random with a dangerous creature and he had to fight it off all by himself which wasn't fun at all to him " what a pain " he said slightly out loud as he kept walking and took another sip from his drink. It took Silas around half an hour to reach the portal area, there were a few portals spaced out in this area, some were on higher elevation than others as well. Silas walked up to the portal on his left, it looked slightly old and damaged, the condition of the portal didn't make Silas feel confident walking through it but he knew he had to if he wanted to reach his mentor, he sighed and slowly walked in. He passed through to the other side with no problem, he stood there for a moment before looking around and patting himself on different parts of his body, making sure he was completely fine before he let a sigh of relief out " thank fuck, that was scarier than it actually is "

Silas turned his attention to his surroundings now, he slowly started walking up a path that was connected to the portal, the area that he currently was in was a rocky ground, there was some dirt, sand and what seemed to be gravel in some spots as well. He looked around, taking everything in as he made it up a small hill, as soon as he made it up there, he noticed a CCCat standing in an open spacious area that seemed to be cleared out by someone, it wasn't something that naturally formed. the CCCat seemed to be waiting on someone as they stood there, they soon noticed Silas and waved to him. Silas noticed their gesture and went up to them, he soon noticed that this CCCat is quite large the closer that he got to them which made him feel a bit intimidated but that didn't make him hesitant to speak " are you the earth mentor that's supposed to be teaching me today? " said Silas to the CCCat. Silas haven't seen them before, he only heard one description of them so he wasn't sure if this was the right person or not, Birathan stood there, towering over Silas, he simply nodded and said " yep, here to help you learn the basics "

Birathan Lifted his hand up as he spoke to Silas " Name's Birathan by the way, this is my little spot, we will meet here every training day to learn, that's alright by you little fella? " Silas placed his bag on a rock with a smooth enough surface that was near him before he replied to Birathan " yeah, it's fine by me as long as I get to actually learn, my name is Silas, nice to meet you sir. " Birathan chuckled a bit due to Silas response " sir? No need to be so formal, I ain't your boss! I'm your teacher! Your friend! Now if you are ready, we can get started. " Silas nodded before he spoke again " yeah I'm ready " Birathan gave Silas a thumbs up before he faced the other side, he was still for a moment as he focused his magic, making a bunch of small pebbles and rocks float " watch and observe, did you see how I did that? Use your mind and body to control your surroundings " Silas looked up at Birathan in confusion, he thought what he did was pretty cool and simple but he had no idea how he actually made those rocks float, the look of confusion was visible on his face which Birathan noticed " ah..you do not understand? That's alright..just keep observing, it's gonna take ya a bit to get a hold of this " Silas shook his head in response " no- I understand that, I'm just confused on how to begin even, like- how the hell do I even begin to control and use my magic? Do I even have any to begin with? " Birathan had a slightly surprised look on his face as he relaxed his position, lowering the rocks that he was controlling " it's fine Silas, every skire has magical abilities, it's in our veins, is that how they say it? Anyway best way to describe it for ya is this, just try to imagine yourself doing it! Like imagine lifting these small rocks. Might be a bit tricky for ya but I believe in ya! Give it a try, here look " Birathan kneeled down and grabbed a bunch of pebbles for himself and Silas before he stood up straight, he held his hands out to Silas as he continued speaking to him, trying to explain things to the best of his abilities " we just gonna try making these float for now, take a few and give it a try, don't think too hard about it though, just relax, don't need ya having a rock hard focus " he chuckled again as he handed Silas a few of the pebbles, still having his hand out for him, he slowly made the rocks float a couple of inches off his hand " see? Just try doing something like this, we just trynna find the first step, afterwards ya would be all good, trust me bud "

Silas looked up at Birathan before he stared down at the pebbles in his hand, he took a deep breath and exhaled, trying to relax himself and focus, he was trying to follow Birathan's advice and instructions to the best of his abilities " so I'm guessing I just gotta make these float even a little bit and we would be good? " Birathan nodded " yep! " Silas replied " alright " he was still confused on what he was supposed to do but he was going to give it a shot nonetheless, he focused his mind on the pebbles, trying to channel his inner self and find his magical connection so he could at least use a small bit to figure this first step out, it should be very easy he thought to himself, trying to encourage himself and not get distracted by whether he can do or not. Silas stood there for a few minutes trying to make the pebbles float in his hand with no luck, he looked up at Birathan and said nothing, he didn't know what to do and was looking for instructions of any kind to help him out with this. Birathan patted Silas's shoulder " don't get down now bud, this is ya first training session, ya still got a lot to learn. Let me show you how to do it again, I know it looks tricky but it's pretty easy, here watch how I do it " he made the pebbles in Silas's hand float for a moment before they gently fell back into place, Silas gave it another shot, he placed his other hand over the pebbles and tried making them float, he was hoping that focusing his mind and desire through his hand might help him with controlling his magic, unfortunately he had no luck again " it did not work Birathan..you sure this is how you do it? " Birathan wrapped his arm around Silas's neck, pulling him closer and smiling while he spoke to him " yep! Ya ain't the first fella that I taught though I think this might not be the best method for ya, we should try something else, what ya think? How would you control the earth? Maybe you should try doing this your way instead of mine " Silas wad caught off guard by Birathan but he didn't mind him pulling him closer, Silas nodded to what Birathan said to him " sure, I can try giving that a try in a second, let me get a quick drink and I will give it a shot " Birathan let go of Silas and patted him on the back as Silas went to his bag and grabbed a bottle of water and took a sip out of it, he was feeling a bit annoyed that he couldn't figure this out though Birathan present was nice, his explanation might not be the best but he wasn't a bad teacher so far " how about we take a short break? I know I haven't done much but I need a moment to myself to think if you don't mind " Birathan nodded and took a seat on a rock near by, Silas took a seat next to his bag and continued to drink water as he thought to himself quietly.
