Reasoning:  During the tuffle excursion of their first few clashes, Shallot had arrived to the scene of his comrades being struck down left and right. The two sides were opposing one another at the time, and naturally war had continued with extreme prejudice. With Shallot attempting to take down the remaining opposition, he was horribly burnt in the process, leaving him with critical wounds that had to be taken care of by the Tuffles that had stood beside the Saiyan forces. It took several weeks to recover properly from the event, but that had marked a critical defeat on his part that had left him both traumatized and infuriated. It was the nail that drove itself home in regards to his contempt of the Tuffles. He recognized their power as he had been felled, and knew all too well that their tools of destruction were too dangerous to not be wary about. Eventually the burn wounds had ceased to remain along his body, and he was able to return to his proper strength once more.
