Background: Dae-Suk was born in Daejeon to his parents, Dae-Jung and Bo-Bae. He's the oldest from his three other brothers, Dae-Hyun, Taemin and Gil-Su. His youngest brother, Gil-Su was born with being partially deaf in his left ear, so he and his brothers helped him with his hearing. One way was through music and Dae-Suk would sing to his brother to comfort him, Taemin over heard him and pushed him to become a singer. He later auditioned in his junior year of high school at SM and he got accepted, even though it meant leaving Gil-Su. He promised Dae-Suk that he will cheer him on until he debuted.
