Coach Mom [Lynn][Lincoln][/tlvg/]

>Lynn looked around the gym floor, and she felt lost.
>There was that usual blare of conversation and announcements, amplified by the high gym ceilings.
>The scent of sweat and cleaning products were heavily present, the cold of the blaring A/C hurt her nose.
>But the baskets were hanging tightly to the ceiling like bats, the wood floor was blanketed by a thick blue pad, and dozens upon dozens of young girls were wearing uniforms that she had only ever seen from the field.
>Linc appeared to her right, holding two sodas. He taps one against the nape of her neck.
>Lynn yells as she ducks down away from the touch. She looks up and straightens back out, taking the offered soda.
>”Geez, Linc. Not cool.” Lynn says as she cracks it open.
>”I know, it’s cold.” Lincoln says with a smile.
>Lynn giggles. “That’s awful. That’s the worst it’s ever been.”
>Lincoln sits down, grimacing and comments on how they weren’t that bad when he was young.
>They see Lacy, who is looking for them, and they wave. She sees them and waves back, big smile on her face.
>”This is good. You’re doing good.” Lincoln says, breaking the silence.
>”Then why do I feel awful, Linc? I’ve been her coach in everything; basketball, soccer, softball. And then she wants to do this.” Lynn holds her hand out at the gym floor.
>”It’s hard to let go. But you need to.” Lincoln massages Lynn’s back.
>”There’s just so much out there that can hurt her. I don’t want that to happen to her...” Lynn says glumly.
>”Just because you’re not her coach, that doesn’t mean you stop being her mom.” Lincoln says.
>”Yeah, that’s right. Now’s my chance to cheer.” Lynn says.
>”And you’ll kick butt at that too.” Lincoln smiles as Lynn stands up.
>”I love you, Lacy!!” Lynn shouts.
>Lacy blushes the same shade as her uniform.
