  1. 1. Saber-wise, Saber Alter, Gawain and Suzuka Gozen are good "I want something to use for everything" servants. They have increments in their attack stat in some way and Suzuka Gozen is prized for her farming ability. Saber Alter has a 1 turn buster up (generally a NP dump turn), Charisma (generic attack+) and crit stars (while bad, it has uses). Gawain has massive attack ups and is mostly used for farming big rounds (although he has attack+ with more attack+, to bring out his true potential, he needs to be *under sunlight*). In my opinion, Suzuka Gozen has more "general use" than Gawain. Please take your pick. Seigfried and Chevalier are oddities because they're both tanky. Seigfried has cleanses and heals but deals damage (with strengthenings, he's really good!) and even more bonus against dragons. Chevalier is a tank - they have a taunt, evade and their NP is to debuff the enemy. However, I highly suggest you *do not* pick them unless you really love them. Lancelot and Rama are monters - they excel at killing bosses. You'll find a lot of memes about Lancelot. He (with his skill: Eternal Arms Mastery) will absorb LITERALLY ALL AVAILABLE CRIT STARS and he crits like a complete madman. His Arts NP increases all damage taken by the target for 3 turns too. Rama is a Buster instead of an Arts and less consistent with his crits, but good nonetheless. Personally, I prefer Lancelot. Nero is slightly weird. She has Imperial Privilege, which has a *chance* to raise attack and defence separately. It always heals though. Nero has 2 heals and something unique to her: Thrice Setting Sun. She has 3 Guts in a single skill. She is extremely hard to kill, though she doesn't hit hard.

  3. 2. Archer-wise, you have Emiya my man. Good job, he's one of the better SR archers. If you would like that little bit of support Tristan could be a pick. He shares uniqueness with David, providing the team with a 1-hit evade while also helping the team with a little damage and crit star boosts. His skills and hit counts allow him to build stars and NP rather quickly but does not hit too hard. Atalante is an older SR archer that has a decent crit skill, but no steroid. She has an evade and is AoE, but her hit counts are awful; buyer beware. Emiya Alter is the newest addition among the SR archers, but not shabby at all: he has a defense buff which is quite substantial and a quick cooldown on an attack buff. He has decent hit counts on his cards (all of them have 4 hits) and a boost to everything (Buster+, Quick+, Arts+) for a turn. His NP does good damage to a single target (unlike Emiya). I've seen some Emiya Alter fans pull off some really nice things with him.
  4.
  5. 3. Lancer-wise, you're spoiled for choice. Except not really. For an AoE farmer, look to Arthuria Lancer Alter, Elizabeth and Fionn mac Cumhaill. The first two are Busters while the last is Arts, I believe. Lancer Alter has a NP battery skill over Elizabeth, so my personal choice is her (I'm extremely biased against Fionn, but with strengthenings, Fionn is decent. He can refund his NP bar with his skills and spam it mostly). Vlad III, Li Shuwen and Medusa are single target lancers. If you're starting out, I would advise against Medusa - unless of course you love her character. Vlad III destroys evil targets and has nice buffs for himself and even generates crit stars per turn. Li Shuwen has skills geared for Arts crit. You can think of him as a lancer Lancelot (but in exchange for a NP battery, he has evasion and invincibility pierce).
  6.
  7. 4. Riders include Astolfo, Anne & Mary, Saint Martha and Marie Antoinette. Astolfo and Marie are quite survivable, but Marie is extremely tanky. Astolfo's NP is an 'ok' damage AoE but grants him evasion and Marie's NP heals after dealing damage and clears debuffs but she also has heals built into her skill kit and a 3-hit invincibility. Anne & Marie are one shot wonders. They build NP and stars for a turn, get as low health as possible and then destroy something in a turn with crit and their NP. Martha is more of a support rider (which is not too fantastic; riders absorb stars the most by default) and has the ability to heal herself and her team, cleanse debuffs and decrease defense for the enemies in a damaging AoE NP.
  8.
  9. 5. Caster-wise, you've got a good spread. If you want what is essentially Waver-lite or mini-Waver, there's the SR Helena Blavatsky. She gives, at max rank, the party a 20% NP charge and is capable of generating 5 stars every turn for 5 turns and Buster/Arts/Quick up for 3 turns, effectively increasing damage and even more so - her NP also allows your team to have an easier time dealing with crits (although its RNG whether or not you'll get one shot at high level content, she has no defense buffs). Caster Gilgamesh is also excellent: everything he has is party-wide. He has crit generation, attack, Arts and debuff success rate ups across his skills and his NP buffs the party's defence. If you can manage to keep spamming his NP, the defense buff is extremely potent. Thomas Edison is a weird one. His first skill increases his defence and (post strengthening) decreases an ally's cooldown by 1 turn and their defence by the same amount. His second skill has an extremely long cooldown but for 5 turns, generates stars (10 stars at max rank) and NP% (10% per turn at max rank) but they're both rather slow since its over 5 turns. His last skill actually *overcharges* an ally's NP by 2 stages for a turn, allowing for weird uses of NP. Ultimately though, he's a caster so his NP doesn't really hurt and the value lies mostly in the debuffs it inflicts. Nursery Rhyme is a deceptively tanky caster with the option to crit (has Morph and crit damage+ and absorption+) and even a heal and self cleanse. Mostly for sticky damage. Medea Lily is all about that healing. Das it. However, Nitocris is famous for one thing: Farming. She has a high chance instant death NP and the chance goes up with her first skill. She's famous for her NP battery, which at rank 8 instantly charges her bar by *just over 100%*.
  10.
  11. 6. Assassin-wise, you have a quite a selection too. Assassin Emiya (Kiritsugu) is an Arts assassin whose highest hit count is not on his Quick or Arts, but Buster (with 6 hits). He has a nice crit and Arts steroid and a gimmicky skill to put a taunt on another ally. He isn't horrible by any means, but his NP gain is very low to compensate for his high hit count Arts NP. He's really gimped in terms of NP gain, sadly. If I remember correctly his NP, Chronos Rose, hits for about... 25 times? I guess it would've been broken but DW has already made servants who can already refund farm so... tough luck for him. Carmilla suffers from the opposite. She has awful hit counts but manages so somehow get by with her Vampirism skill for NP (and star generation, post strengthening). She hits alright for an assassin but with bonus damage against females, which is quite alright. She's not too bad, honestly. The Assassin of Shinjuku, real name: Yan Qing is... a meh servant at best. He can generate quite a bit of stars with his deck and his skills and also manipulate how servants absorb the stars themselves but has no damage boost (in NA). Think of him as a star generator for now, but also remember he has no evasion, defense or invincibility. Stheno is legendary in the community. She has a buster NP that does basically nothing against non-male enemies, and no damage whatsoever. She's extremely niche to lock down a male target. However, post strengthening, she can increase damage of allies (bonus if allies are divine) by a very large margin. This regelates her to basically a support. Assassin of the Nightless City, true name: Wu Zetian is another Chinese assassin but one I can be proud of. Her skillset is straightforward and effective: defense decrease on an enemy, Imperial Privilege, and a attack+ (and a Quick+ for allies bonus), she can be used as a damaging Quick support or just an assassin damage dealer. Her NP is rather damaging, and post interlude - even more so.
  12.
  13. 7. Berserkers are a rather easy lot if you don't consider Nightingale. They just like to kill things. Heracles is great: guts, evasion, attack+ and crit+. His bond 10 gives him 9 guts. 9. Its amazing. Beowulf is considered to be bad, but he isn't really. If you like him, he has his uses. He isn't great like Heracles sure, but he has massive damage potential. Fran and Tamamo Cat is mostly used for farming, since they're AoE and they both actually stun themselves after they use their NP. They can also be used for a single target fight, but they won't do well. Lancelot, while also AoE, is a monster post strengthening: crits for days and they really hurt as he increases his attack and star gen with his NP. Then there's Ibaraki Douji: Ibaraki is a tanky berserker. She has a heal, cleanse and morph; this does not mean that she does no damage. She has a damage and a NP boost. Her NP also removes buffs which gives her some form of utility. She can be quite good. Lastly, there's the Berserker of El Dorado, true name: Penthesilea. She has tremendous damage potential. She has very little problems building NP with her generation and is complemented with her attack buffs. She grants teamwide steroids (bonus against Greeks, fittingly enough) and also debuff immunity - a rarity amongst servants for now. Her niche damage boost is rare and she is EXTREMELY fragile. Treat her right; she's my pic for this year, most probably.
  14.
  15. 8. Avengers: there are only 2. Gorgon and Hessian Lobo (the Avenger of Shinjuku). Firstly the class. Avengers have a positive damage multiplier of 1.1x (by this I mean casters and assassins have a 0.9x and 0.95x damage multiplier, so Avengers hit just harder in general), which is good. But they're only 'effective' against Rulers and Berserkers, which is bad; Ruler bosses are a rarity and therefore optimally, you might not use Avengers anyway. Also Avengers generate % of NP every turn too! Another reason for now you would not use these Lobo is: single target NP. Now, both Avengers have Monstrous Strength (skill that increases damage by a massive amount for either 1 or 2 turns), and are leaning towards crit: Gorgon with crit damage% and Lobo with crit absorption and defese. Lobo has utility with buff removal while Gorgon has guts. Gorgon's NP has AoE curse, Lobo has single target instant death chance. Buyer beware!
