BlueStacks

BlueStacks 5 is developed by Bluestack Systems, Inc. in California, United States.
BlueStacks 5 operates in both Hyper-V and emulator modes (using VirtualBox).

Pros

  • Works nicely
BlueStacks should have compatibility for most games because it is the most popular app player.
  • Customization
You can set the default home launcher of BlueStacks to whatever home launcher you like.

Cons

  • Freezes the whole OS sometimes
The only way to mitigate the freeze is to shutdown the whole emulator and restart it, but sometimes that doesn't work.
This is why I ditched BlueStacks 5.

MEmu Play

MEmu Play is developed by Microvirt Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China.
MEmu Play operates in emulator mode (using VirtualBox and modified Hyper-V).

Cons

  • No customization
You can't remove MEmu Play's default home launcher because the system partition is read-only. There is no way to remount this partition as read-write.
If you want to override the home button on the toolbar, you can use LauncherHijack to hijack the home button, but this doesn't always work.
This is why I ditched MEmu Play.

MuMu Player X

MuMu Player X is developed by NetEase, Inc. in Guangzhou, China.
MuMu Player X operates in emulator mode (using VirtualBox).

Pros

Cons

  • No customization
If you delete MuMu Player X's default home launcher, which contains a lot of ads, MuMu Player X won't start and will stay stuck at the loading screen indefinitely.
This is why I ditched MuMu Player X.

Nox App Player (Nox)

Nox App Player is developed by Nox Limited in Hong Kong, China.
Nox App Player operates in both Hyper-V and Emulator modes (using VirtualBox).

Pros

  • Works nicely
BlueStacks should have compatibility for most games because it is the most popular app player.
  • Customization
You can set the default launcher of Nox App Player to whatever launcher you like.

Cons

  • Generic FPS stutter
While BlueStacks doesn't have an FPS issue, Nox App Player does.
This is why I ditched Nox App Player.

LDPlayer

LDPlayer is developed by Xuanzhi International Co., Limited in Hong Kong, China.
LDPlayer operates in Emulator mode (using VirtualBox).

Pros

Cons

Game specific

Blue Archive

  • Minor stutter
In certain section of the game, game stutters about a second.
  • Game crash
When entering a battle, game crashes sometime.

One Game Loop

One Game Loop is developed by Tencent Holdings Limited in Shenzhen, China, and customized by One Store Co., Ltd. in Seongnam, South Korea.
One Game Loop operates in Emulator mode (using rootfs).

Pros

Cons

  • No customization
You can't customize One Game Loop at all. You can't install APKs or change the default home launcher.
Some Android API stuff is blocked too. You can't run the SD Maid app because One Game Loop lacks a few applets that SD Maid needs.
  • Slow app restart time
If you close an app, you close the whole emulator.
If you just wanted to restart the app, you would actually shut down the whole emulator and start it all over again. This increases the app's restart time.
  • No 'Free RAM' feature
Many Android emulators or app players provide the 'Free RAM' feature. One Game Loop doesn't.
If you want to free up your RAM, you have to shut down your whole emulator and restart it.
  • Limited store apps
One Game Loop doesn't install apps from the Google Play Store. It installs apps from the One Store that the company owns.
Since there aren't many apps in the One Store, there aren't many apps you can install.
  • Improper sound support
One Game Loop won't play any sound if your speaker's sample rate is set to other value tham 48000Hz.
