  1. "Hm, hm.."
  2.
  3. It's rather convenient to him that he would find someone like Andromeda near him.. especially given that he was looking exactly for her.
  4.
  5. For what reasons? He doesn't say, of course.
  6.
  7. "Andromeda, yes?"
  8.
  9. It seems that the scenery infront of him loses all meaning - any interest he had prior has vanished in an instant.
  10.
  11. If there's something related to what he wanted to do comes up, the tunnel vision is rather evident.
  12.
  13. "I wanted to ask something."
  14.
  15. "Elsewhere!"
  16.
  17. Usually, the Anomaly is treated as a dangerous thing- as something to stay away from. Naturally, Ambrose knows that she's dangerous, that he must be cautious, but..
  18.
  19. Approaching like this? He doesn't seem frightened. Why?
  20.
  21. Who knows.
  22. (Ambrose Roche)
  23.
  24. Pale irises shift from Kaun to Ambrose whom was asking for her attention.
  25.
  26. "Okay."
  27.
  28. She would flatly reply, her body a bit sluggish in its flight as she followed overhead after the young boy.
  29.
  30. "I will be back soon." Andromeda announced, finding it not a bother of her time to address Ambrose first.
  31. (Andromeda)
  32.
  33. Others would shy away from this.
  34.
  35. But if Ambrose is ever to learn what he intended, he would need greater insight from those around him; Esshar has proven to be a bountiful land of knowledge, filled with hidden secrets that oft lie right beneath someone's notice. How peculiar..
  36.
  37. Of them to ignore it.
  38.
  39. They're led away - not far, but not as close either. The warm sands are still beneath their feet, and the air is only beginning to cool with the coming of evening. Though, none of this particularly bothers Ambrose.
  40.
  41. He's here for a reason,
  42. much like there's a reason he called her.
  43.
  44. "Andromeda."
  45.
  46. He makes a brief address to her, but where he finally turns to her, a keen eye could discern a sparkle of.. something else. This was by far not an ordinary young teen- not something that could come off as merely another wandering child.
  47.
  48. Despite wearing the mask of one.
  49.
  50. "How do you eat the world?" An interesting question. Odd one - that she might not even have an answer to, but..
  51.
  52. "What you did at the Silverwall."
  53.
  54. "How?"
  55.
  56. Why would he ask?
  57. (Ambrose Roche)
  58.
  59. "By eating it."
  60. It wasn't an intricate process in which she herself devised and heavily thought about every moment. These were all on the whims of the chaos that exudes and flows around the very confines of Esshar.
  61.
  62. "If Ambrose cannot grab what he is trying to eat. How will he eat it?" Andromeda asked in a flat tone, her irises fluttering off to the side. "Humans are not made to eat things beyond them. Seifer was a host, and I searched inside of him to eat the lifestream. I eat his connection." She said, making brief note of how she specifically targeted and devoured the lifestream.
  63.
  64. "Eat it bit by bit. Everything that is what makes the world. Eat it." The devourer uttered, to her- it is a simple process.
  65.
  66. Devour and assimilate.
  67. (Andromeda)
  68.
  69. By eating it?
  70.
  71. Such a simple answer to something that could be rather complex. The dark mastery that he possesses was most certainly the means for him to find the potential ability to destroy the lifestream in such manner, and perhaps even disrupt it for something greater, but..
  72.
  73. This?
  74.
  75. "--You make it sound easy."
  76.
  77. "You were born special. Very special."
  78.
  79. Ambrose was different. While what he's today is much more different than many other of his age, at the same time, he had to claw towards it - claw and dig, until he got it.
  80.
  81. Her? She was likely born a certain way. Still..
  82.
  83. "How do you.."
  84.
  85. "Find that lifestream, then? You searched him, but it's not that simple, is it?"
  86.
  87. "... or maybe it is."
  88.
  89. A quiet hum.
  90.
  91. "Are you able to describe how it looked like? Maybe sounded like?"
  92.
  93. "Tasted like?"
  94.
  95. Something to give him a hint during his own search.
  96. (Ambrose Roche)
  97.
  98. "It tasted light."
  99.
  100. The woman said, thinking on that word that Ambrose uttered. Some people did describe the woman as special, but was that truly the case? Is something that is not of the same plane, the same origin as humans consider special? Or is it their own norm that isn't shared. Could there be more devourers?
  101.
  102. "It looks like water that shines gold. It is not hard searching for something that a human has much of. Seifer had a high connection with the lifestream. Something that flared in a moment where he could be killed." She took advantage of the chaos, and struck true to Seifer while he was still flaring with a high potency of magic to protect his life.
  103. (Andromeda)
  104.
  105. A lot of it was unfamiliar to Ambrose.
  106.
  107. To that end, it only caused him to tilt his head. It tasted light, and it looked like shining, gold water? Surely that could make sense to many... but to him, an unfamiliar concept that he's yet to discover. Though, perhaps in time he could..
  108.
  109. She held the essence of devourer.
  110. He held the essence of destroyer.
  111.
  112. And that spark in his eye only signifies the presence of something dark, sinister- something that could burn away at the world itself, should it be given enough time and opportunity to do so. But would it?
  113.
  114. That remains to be seen. Fate is always unknown.
  115.
  116. "That sounded like you enjoyed it!" For the first time during this interaction, he smiles.
  117.
  118. Perhaps he could even capitalize on this happenstance as well- from what he noticed, the Silverwall was in ruins, still.. and as much as he harboured the essence of destroyer, it was still weak; it needed to be nurtured and grown.
  119.
  120. Before he could make it into something bigger.
  121.
  122. "I see, I see."
  123.
  124. "Thank you, Andromeda. For teaching." However brief it was, it was to the point and with enough information to him.
  125.
  126. "Are you going to eat more like that?"
  127. (Ambrose Roche)
  128.
  129. "I did enjoy it."
  130. Andromeda would slowly consider his next question.
  131.
  132. "Yes. I will eat more of Eternia soon. Primordials. Angels. Everything else." The woman said, she didn't harbor a mind of deception. She merely wasn't intertwined with how humans operated. Up front and simple, she plainly put her desires to the world.
  133.
  134. To make it clear that she will keep existing whether Eternia has to reside right inside of her stomach as a full course meal.
  135.
  136. "Soon."
  137. She reinstates- making sure to think about Alexei in that moment. He said she will get to eat more of Eternia soon, so she dearly hopes that such a promise sticks through the heavy rain.
  138. (Andromeda)
  139.
  140. It is all that he needed to hear.
  141.
  142. What he wants, his very purpose of arriving here to Esshar from the far away land- it is to that essence of destruction that guided him here. Many would view it as inhumane thing, as something that could threaten the world itself, but..
  143.
  144. Doesn't new life come in the place of what died before?
  145.
  146. It's a cycle - and some have stagnated in it far too long. His smile widens, now re-assured of something that he's been looking to confirm, alongside with what he wanted to learn about her interference with the lifestream.
  147.
  148. "Good."
  149.
  150. "Our interests align."
  151.
  152. As of yet, he isn't entirely ready to take on as much attention as Andromeda- given his youth and the fact that he's still preparing, it may take a bit more time, but..
  153.
  154. It won't be long. It would be comparatively soon - perhaps just in time when she does that too.
  155.
  156. "I'm looking forward to when that happens." A pause. Oh, right.. he forgot to introduce himself.
  157.
  158. "--And I'm Ambrose." Or else, likely she would've forgotten to. But.. does he stick around to find out whether she cares to remember his name?
  159.
  160. Not quite. Names were mostly irrelevant anyway, unless they meant something.
  161.
  162. "Goodbye, Andromeda."
  163. (Ambrose Roche)
  164.
  165.
