I have some questions for those who have used and/or purchased niche edits. I’ve seen an increase in hype amongst people regarding niche edits, and they still make me raise an eyebrow.

1) Do they actually work? I want to know the brutal honesty.

2) If they work, are they typically permanent?

3) Are they essentially “hacked” blogs that someone places a link into?

Absoluley but you do want Google to know that the page has changed so set up a few quality Web 2.0s and link to the page and get the Web 2.0s indexed so Google follows the links.

They are almost always permanent.

No, usually it is a paid link.

Fun fact: I have over 10 websites in the same niche category. In the two latest Google updates, the only site that lost over half its traffic had expensive niche edits and guest posts. The rest have PBN links ($10/link) and other cheap stuff, and they all gained traffic.

I won't be using niche edits again, PBNs always worked well for me at a much cheaper price.

Actually, the site is now ranking higher then before, it did a real roller coaster. So, I have to recline what I said before. It looks like it recovered.

Still doesn't change the fact that it was the only site that dropped traffic heavily for a while at least.
