- Rayas and Addie were always close. The two of them bonded in elementary school over both being picked on for their species. But even long after the childhood teasing was over, the two stuck together as friends. Of course back then, Rayas was drastically different from her current self. For one, she didn't even go by Rayas, she went by her legal name of Andrea. Perhaps more importantly, however, is that her personality was more feminine and bubbly. It wasn't until high school that she adopted the name “Rayas” and became more of a tomboy that tried a little too hard to be seen as punk. Although despite the nose piercing and studded collar, Rayas was considerably closer to a lazy stoner type than a punk. Addie surprisingly didn't mind this, although privately she's found herself wishing Rayas was more like her old self a couple of times. Back before “the shift”, as Addie sometimes called it, the two briefly dated. Maybe it was the break up that caused it in the first place, but ever since then, the two seemingly lost interest in each other romantically even as they continued being friends.
- Currently, the two were on a walk in the middle of the woods. They weren't really saying much, just Rayas occasionally commenting about how she was hungry. Rayas's other two roommates, Hayden and Cedar, were back at home, presumably playing video games or something. Addie was actually surprised Rayas had agreed to join her when she said she was going for a quick walk considering she had a short attention span and preferred sleeping on the couch all day to going outside nine times out of ten. Just as Rayas was about to announce she was bored and head home, she noticed a frog hop across a pile of leaves in front of them.
- “Woah! Addie, check it out, there's a frog here in the woods. That's kinda weird, right?”
- “I guess it's kinda weird, yeah. I mean, it's January, you don't usually see them outside like this unless you're in the summer.”
- Rayas stops for a bit as a smirk comes across her face. “Hey maybe it's a magic frog,” she said in jest, “you should give it a kiss and see if it turns into a princess.”
- “Ha ha very funny Rayas. Come on, let's keep going.”
- “Nah I'm serious, I'll give you five bucks if you kiss it. I just wish I had my phone on me...”
- Addie rolled her eyes. “Oh please, I'm not going to kiss some feral frog we found in the woods. It's probably sick considering it's out here, and even if it isn't, it's still gross.”
- “How about ten? Twenty? Seriously I wanna see you kiss that frog. I ain't leaving until you do it.”
- Addie let out a long, exasperated sigh. “You are so immature sometimes, ya know that? But fine, whatever, give me twenty bucks afterward and then we can just get out of here.”
- “Hey no need to be such a buzzkill,” Rayas said as she walked up to the frog before picking it up and holding it in front of Addie. “Now come on, just kiss the top of its head or something. You'll get your twenty bucks, promise,” she said as she was trying to contain her laughter.
- “I can't believe you're making me do this...” Addie grimaced and hesitantly puckered her lips slightly before gently kissing the frog.
- Right as Addie was about to recoil in disgust, a blinding flash of light sent both her and Rayas stumbling backwards and landing on the ground. Taken aback, the two eventually got back on their feet, albeit slowly. The wild frog had seemingly disappeared, although a sinister anthropomorphic frog man in a suit had taken its place. He towered over Addie, who was nearly six feet, and had a hefty build to him. The two could barely make out the man's face, only really being able to make out a crooked smile that showcased yellowing teeth. He glared at the two ladies for a bit as he rolled up his suit a bit, revealing several large warts adorning his hands.
- His deep voice bellowed. “Oh wow, I can't believe you two actually fell for this. I mean, kissing a frog, are you kidding me? Especially at your guys's age...”
- His breath was foul smelling, even to Rayas, and the two stood in a silenced shock.
- The frog man stifled a belch before continuing. “Well what were you expecting, a prince? Come on, let's at least have a little fun here. I don't have all day.”
- Addie eventually worked up enough courage to speak to the strange man. “Okay well... who are you, what do you want?”
- “Wow, you kiss guys you don't even know?,” the frog laughed.
- Rayas, who previously wanted to remain silent, couldn't help but angrily retort at the frog. “Hey, fuck off! It was just a dumb dare, okay, now leave us the fuck alone!”
- The man was briefly caught off guard by Rayas speaking up. “Quite the angry one we have here, I guess! Well don't worry, I won't be here for long. Just have to return the favor real quick before I leave...”
- All of a sudden, the frog man's disgustingly long tongue unraveled out of his mouth and collapsed onto the ground right next to Addie. Rayas quickly ran away and cowered behind a nearby bush as the tongue slowly slurped Addie, who was paralyzed from fear. She was fully covered by saliva from just one lick. She tried to wipe it away, but it was... a tiny bit thicker than normal spit. It was more like a thin layer of slime had fully enveloped the stinkbug. She wanted to let out a cry for help, but found herself unable to, instead leaving her in a confused state of disgust and panic. Slowly, her body began changing from the layer of mucus-like slime coating her. She could feel her face rounding out more as her skin began to shift color to a dark green. As the slime thickened over her feet she felt them transform too, until eventually she developed fully webbed feet.
- Her belly began to swell as she found herself bloated with gas, Addie letting out a couple of wet, swamp-smelling farts as she gained weight. The transformation continued as her skin, still covered in slime, finished darkening into a dull ugly green. Her hands had developed small but noticeable warts on them. Her sense of hearing momentarily ceased, not that it mattered much as the only thing she was able to hear was the faint laughter of the frog man and the sound of her gas, as her antennae disappeared in favor of small bumps on the side of her head. She tried opening her mouth to call out to Rayas, but all that came out was a nasty burp. Her tongue, however, had increased in length and stuck out towards her shrinking breasts. Her stomach finally finished swelling as a final plrrrrrt escaped from her backside. She quickly tried to grab her tongue in a feeble attempt to stuff it back inside of her mouth, but it kept sticking out.
- The sinister sorcerer laughed as the transformation completed, leaving Addie a chubby, slime covered, gross frog man similar to the one standing in front of him.
- “Wow, you probably came out the grossest of them all! Oh well, tough break kid. Tell you what though, since I feel bad for how ugly you look, if you can manage to get your true love to kiss you within the next 48 hours, I'll change you back. But if you can't... enjoy spending the rest of your life as a frog! It was nice getting to know you two, but I better 'fuck off' as your friend put it. Ta-ta!”
- As Addie finally managed to roll his tongue back inside of his mouth in an attempt to say something to the man, he quickly vanished in a puff of green smoke.
- Rayas slowly made her way out from beneath the bushes to face Addie. “H-holy shit.”
- Addie menacingly glared at Rayas, furious at her for having caused this. “Choose your next words very carefully so I don't punch you right now,” he said in a much lower and groggier sounding voice.
- Rayas awkwardly took a couple steps back. “Okay, yeah, this is... really bad. And totally my fault. I'm really sorry, Addie. Let's just get back to the house, I'll explain what's going on to Hayden and Cedar and they can help us fix this. Everything's gonna be alright, okay?”
- Addie clenched his fists and let out a deep breath. “Fine.”
- The two made their way back to Rayas's house in silence. Rayas didn't want to risk angering Addie any further, not that Addie would want to talk to her much anyway. Rayas stopped in front of the door, Addie grumbling behind her.
- “Okay, you wait here. I'm going to explain the situation to Hayden and Cedar before they see you so nobody freaks out,” Rayas said in a reassuring voice.
- “Whatever.”
- Rayas quietly opened the door and shut it behind her, leaving Addie outside. Suddenly, she ran into the living room in a panic. “OKAY SOMETHING REALLY BAD JUST HAPPENED ADDIE'S A FROG NOW BECAUSE I DARED HER TO KISS A FROG IN THE WOODS AND IT'S REALLY GROSS ALTHOUGH KINDA FUNNY PLEASE DON'T TELL HER I SAID THAT THOUGH SHE'S PRETTY PISSED AT ME ANYWAY SHOULD WE GET THE POLICE INVOLVED WHAT'S THE NUMBER FOR 911”
- Hayden quickly got out of his chair and rushed to Rayas, a concerned look on his face. “Okay, calm down Ray. Slow down and tell us what happened, I'm sure we can fix it,” he said, trying to be as gentle as possible.
- “Did you seriously just say what number is 911?” Cedar replied without getting up from the couch.
- Rayas took a deep breath. “Okay. Well, while me and Addie were in the woods we saw a frog. And so I told Addie I'd give her twenty bucks if she kissed it, which she did, totally hilarious by the way, but then all of a sudden this evil frog man showed up. Actually wait, he was the frog all along I guess? So he didn't really show up in the traditional sense, there was this light and then BAM he was there, ya know? Well anyway, dude's a giant so he licks Addie with his huge tongue. And while normally I'd kick his ass and stop him, I didn't want to get involved so I backed off. But then Addie starts turning into this ugly frog dude, and then the evil frog dude is all like 'oh you have to kiss your true love in 48 hours or else you'll be a frog for the rest of your life.' So yeah Addie's a frog now and we need to find her a girlfriend like, right now.”
- The two simply stared at Rayas.
- “Here I'll show you,” Rayas said as she gestured them towards the door. Cedar reluctantly got up from the couch to join Hayden by the door. Sure enough, when Rayas opened the door for them a frog man wearing Addie's clothes stood in front of them.
- “Uh, hey,” Addie awkwardly greeted them.
- “So... Rayas was right about the evil frog thing?” Hayden asked.
- “Yeah. Did she mention the part where she hid in the bushes while I was being transformed?” he replied while looking directly at Rayas.
- Rayas blushed. “I, uh, might have embellished the story a bit.”
- “Okay well, we need to figure out a way to get you back to normal. We need to find your true love and have her kiss you, yeah? So do y'all have any ideas?” Hayden said.
- “Maybe we should set up an online dating profile,” Cedar replied with a smirk.
- “I know you're being sarcastic Cedar but honestly it ain't a bad idea, Addie have you tried dating websites before?” Hayden asked, not realizing how the question could be embarrassing to answer.
- “...Um, maybe like once or twice.” said a flustered Addie.
- The four of them made their way back into the living room. Hayden moved a chair to the middle of the room for Addie to sit in. Rayas and Cedar sat on the couch while Hayden was busy taking photos of Addie. Cedar opened their laptop and hit “create new profile” on the first website they found.
- “Uh... this might be a little embarrassing but... do you think you could try, sucking in your gut a bit? These pictures aren't very flattering.” Hayden said with an awkward smile.
- Addie rolled his eyes and sucked in his stomach while Hayden took more pictures on his phone. Addie couldn't suck his stomach in for very long, however, as his gut quickly jiggled back into its flabby state while Addie burped loudly.
- “Nice one Addie!” said Rayas, causing him to instantly turn a crimson red.
- “These pictures are a little better... I think.” Hayden muttered to himself quietly.
- “Maybe you should take a picture of Addie wearing her maid's dress. I mean, somebody's going to be into that, right?” Cedar said. “Anyway, help me fill out your dating profile Addie. What are your hobbies?”
- “Cleaning, I guess.”
- “Hmm... I don't really think women are going to believe you're into cleaning based on how sweaty you are in these pictures. I mean, no offense. How about gardening? A lot of women like flowers. Plus it'd explain the sweat...”
- “I don't know anything about gardening, Cedar. And do you have to mention how sweaty I am...”
- “People lie about these things all the time, don't worry about it! And hey look on the bright side, you still smell better than Rayas.”
- “Hey!” the skunk shouted.
- Addie giggled a bit, the first time he felt like laughing since the transformation.
- “Hey there you go! Great picture Addie. Girls will think you're fun to be around.” Hayden said as he went to show off the picture to Addie, not realizing that Addie hadn't seen what he fully looked like yet.
- “Oh no, I look like THAT? This is hopeless...” Addie groaned as he got up from the chair to lie down on the floor.
