- Haji flips over the codex and began glancing over it; He remembered seeing the body of the lion in there not that long ago. Haji had come to a sudden realization that a calling to the stars would be far more helpful to him.
- "So, I was out and about talking to different people, and I started thinking back to my magic. My people knew only the main elements. I was so focused on fire that it might have burned me out just a little bit."
- Haji continues flipping through the codex.
- "I think focusing on the main element of fire would do me some good, and connecting myself with a star would fit me better. Of course, my goal still will remain the same, but you mind helping me?"
- Haji flips another page.
- "What is it like having that kind of magic flow through you, and how does it feel when you project it? If I could understand that feeling, then maybe I could replace it with that feeling of advanced fire magic."
- Haji Shrugs.
- "I'm not sure if it would work for me, but I'm willing to give it a try."
- (Haji La'Heba)
- Ambre looks over Haji's shoulder, reading through the book with him.
- "I'd love to help you with your magic in any way I can! Though, I'm sure the High Priestess would be much better at helping than me — she's really wise, and talented."
- Then, as Haji asks what it feels like to channel cosmic magic, she thinks back to the last time she channeled it, remembering the burning sensation of overdrawing...
- "Well, for me, it sort of... burns. It feels like something's washing through my body that's supposed to be there — it's meant to be there — but I'm not quite meant to have it..."
- She then realizes what she said makes no sense at all.
- "It's like... Let me rephrase it. You know that feeling when you lay in the hot sun, and you feel like you're sort of burning, but in the good way?
- And, you ever get water all the wayup your nose, into your sinuses?
- Well... It's sorta like both of those, mashed together, and all over."
- She then realizes that doesn't sound pleasant in the slightest, and she doesn't want to turn Haji away from it!
- "At least, that's what it was like for me, when I first started. You get used to it over time, as long as you remember not to draw too much mana from the stars like I did."
- (Ambre)
- Haji didn't catch on right away, but it slowly started making more sense as she explained it to him.
- "So, it burns your body? It sounds like fire magic, kind of, but with additional steps. I usually feel a tingle in my body anyway so that I could replace that feeling with star magic?"
- Haji rubs the back of his head a little.
- "Instead of purples flames, I could try using cosmic energy? I don't know if that's how it works, truth be told, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try."
- Haji flips through the codex a bit more.
- "Wouldn't it make sense for me to have that whole star bonding thing first? Maybe then that's all I need to have the feelings switched?"
- Haji was full of more questions than solutions at the moment; this is why he needed Ambre's help.
- (Haji La'Heba)
- "Of course, everyone's different, so your body might process the magic differently."
- She then nods — the Star Connection would be the best place to start.
- "I only started my cosmic magic after my Star Connection, so that might be the best place to start. We can look around for a Priest whenever you're ready!"
- (Ambre)
- Haji closes the codex and follows Ambre; it was better for him to start now than wait until it was too late.
- "Uh, I think it's best if we look for her now. You gave me a good starting foundation. I assume once I finish with the star connection, I'll have a better idea of how to conjure star magic."
- That's at least what he hoped would happen.
- (Haji La'Heba)
