canadians, specifically toronto-area canadians, we need to have a talk. i love my country brethren but sometimes y'all drive me nuts.

When a non-Canadian posts somewhere saying they'll be visiting Canada for a few days, a lot of them will also add that they'd like to try poutine while they are here. This is a *huge problem* to some of you if this person will be spending their visit in Toronto or Vancouver or basically any city 2+ hours away from the Quebec border, presumably for personal or business reasons having nothing to do with food tourism.

What happens after that?

TORONTONIANS DOING TORONTONIAN THINGS HAPPENS! Everyone from Toronto who's been to Montreal _maybe_ once or twice in their lives for a school trip or smash bros tournament jumps in to show off their Canadian street cred. "Don't bother, poutine is inedible in [city name]!", they say. "Go to Quebec for the real thing", they say.

Great idea, dudes! I totally bet that tourist has 6+ hours each way in their very limited non-food-related stay in Canada to go to a completely different part of the country to try a particular dish. Good gravy. Absolutely brilliant.

Plz instead try to be useful and suggest a local place if you know of one in the city they will be visiting that at least specializes in poutine (not a fast food join like KFC or McD's or what have you). Chances are that even though it's not the Real Legit Best True Original Version Of The Food In The Country, the person realistically will enjoy it and enjoy all of the options available to them at whatever local establishment they visit on recommendation. Show some Canadian hospitality instead of exaggerating your flex-chopping as if nobody but you has ever taken a megabus to Quebec before! Do not tell tourists to do something so ridiculous!

Although Montreal is a dope city and people should plan to make a trip out of it.
