  1. A vast hellscape. Thunderous skies, death and destruction as far as the eye could see.
  2.
  3. It was nothing he hadn't seen before.
  4.
  5. The buildings which still stood billowed with smoke and ash, constricted by mile-long serpents, crumbling all the while. Twisted lamp posts stuck out from rubble like splintered bone. Skeletal remains adorned each pile of debris, blood filled every crevice, and bullet casings blew around like dead leaves.
  6. None of this meant anything to him. He had arrived borne from blinding blue light, plunging into a decimated garden, the grass stained grey by ash, soaked with blood. A lowly imp crept over to what remained of the house. There stood the most vile scourge to ever defile Hell's presence.
  7. The Doomslayer.
  8. The imp let out a piercing screech, and lunged at him from the small outcrop on which it stood.
  9.
  10. It was nothing he hadn't killed before.
  11.
  12. He thundered down what was left of a highway, dispatching each and every imp that crossed his path. All the while, rage continued to burn within him, greater than any he had ever felt.
  13.
  14. "I am not the villain in this story. I do what I do because there is no choice."
  15.
  16. Hayden's words echoed in his mind, filling him with more and more rage. Even as he tore limb from limb, eviscerating, breaking, crushing, ripping and tearing, he saw only Hayden. He became more and more fierce, reducing the hellspawn to broken, indescribable piles of viscera as his hatred burned like a thousand suns.
  17.
  18. Nothing was safe from his rage. Nothing would ever be, not until his work was done.
