❀ | background: daiyu was born in shanghai, but moved to seoul when she was seven. her mom is big time fashion designer from shanghai and her dad is the founder and ceo of an incredibly successful and famous company. the reason they moved to seoul was because her dad had to see over what was happening in their korean branch, but mother stayed in shanghai due to work. she visits them in seoul when she can, though. her parents are really... really lenient with her in her childhood, but were quite strict when it came to grades. they have high hopes for her, and think that if they aren't super strict on her and give her what she wants she won't rebel against them and cause problems. it worked, at least, but all that did was teach her how to work people her way to get what she wants. as she grew up, she became better at persuading people and actually became a lowkey bitch-- not that they know about that. all they know is that they have a perfect princess that has good grades and a weird friend that she's had since a week after they landed in korea. she met taehyung on the first day of school, and he was really the only person who made an effort to talk to her before it got around that she was the daughter of two of the most influential people in asia. when that information got around, suddenly she was one of the "popular" people in school, along with taehyung, even though he was popular only because he was one of the most likable and genuine people in that school. she was quite skeptical about him, but warmed up to him after a few days of knowing that he was definitely genuine since he's been there from the beginning.

❀ | personality: growing up, having a loose leash on daiyu meant that she's someone that tends to go headfirst into things without thinking about them because a) her parents didn't really care, and b) it was easy to take care of with the amount of money that they had. she's someone that won't care about the consequences until they happen and will do it again if she could. daiyu is charismatic, and knows how to use her words, especially if they're to her advantage. there's no way that you could say no to her-- there's just something about her that makes you want to say yes (her money or her words, either works). she's observant, and picks up on things easily, which makes it way too easy for her to manipulate people. not that she's manipulative-- daiyu doesn't abuse her power like that-- more like she has an easier time sweet talking people and having them on her side. it pays to have parents in the business industry, in more ways than one. there's no stopping her if she has her eyes on something, especially if she wants to win. daiyu is incredibly stubborn and equally competitive, which is quite a bad combination. especially with her connections, cunning, and ability to pick things up quickly-- there's no denying that daiyu is an intimidating person to be around (but she's not that bad, really). she's had a silver spoon in her mouth since birth, meaning that she's incredibly used to getting what she wants. it's easy to frustrate her if you don't give her what she wants, and she'll probably do her best to try and get it from you. will soften (a little bit) on you if you give her gifts. daiyu is a possessive person, especially about her best friend and things she loves. there's a less than likely chance that she'll allow someone to take something (or someone) she considers hers. not that she's the jealous type, since she's not, she just doesn't appreciate it if you try to separate her from whatever/whoever. she's quite chill about sharing, just not giving something/someone up. despite the bad, daiyu has good points about her, and the most obvious one is that she's incredibly loyal. she's someone who'll back you up in a fight, and will most likely tell you right from wrong if it'll help you. it takes a lot of time to gain her full trust and loyalty, but it's definitely worth the fight. not many people have this, though, since daiyu can find out real quick if you're fake or not. the only person who really and truly has this is her best friend, taehyung. daiyu is also a bit sensitive about all these people not really caring about her. from the multitudes of people that want to be her friend or want to date her, pretty much none of them are willing to try and break through the wall of bitch she has to get to the deep end. she can hide it quite well, though, and is one that would never show people anything that made her seem like a weak person. she's lowkey a hopeless romantic, and melts when it comes to the thought of something that you see in the movies (lowkey sometimes almost cries during sad romance movies but holds it in).

❀ | brief personality: not born with as big of a silver spoon as daiyu (or no silver spoon at all, actually), he's not at all focused on the social aspect of life. he likes to focus on himself-- not like he's selfish, it's more in means of personal and emotional growth-- and doesn't really talk to anyone outside of his (very small) friend circle or if he isn't spoken to first. though he does seem quite cold and offputting, he's actually a gigantic dork. like... a gigantic dork. he's got his walls, like most other human beings out there, and once you break through that and gain his trust he turns into someone that's easier to get along with. he's caring, though he's not very obvious about it, extremely passionate about what he does and a bit sensitive when it comes to disappointing people/himself. he's a horrible liar, though he is good at changing the topic of any conversation. always up for a challenge and is lowkey highkey competitive (maybe even more competitive than daiyu).

❀ | how did they end up fake dating: taehyung had always joked about how she could never keep a single boy for long enough (either because she got bored of them or because they were just too jealous), and, well, even though she usually pretended that it didn't hurt her, but soon it got a bit too much and she just shut up whenever he brings it up. and then she finds out that, surprise surprise, some girl she thought was her friend was actually just using her not just for her money/status, but also to get closer to taehyung, which she really //////did not/////// appreciate. after some digging, she found out that that liTTLE BITCH liked was actually yoongi's ex, and though the girl was the one who broke it off, daiyu found out that she was definitely secretly hung over him... so. (tldr: she's trying to prove to taehyung that she can have a real relationship that lasts more than a week or two AND she's tryna get back at a bitch who was using her)

❀ | history: her first and only constant fuck buddy (there were others but they just... didn't work out). no strings attached whatsoever. they have formed a sort of friendship (?) where they can call on each other if they ever need someone to help them out-- but that rarely happens. neither of them are much for pillow talk, and she's not the kind of person to show her soft side to people, so they're not very attached to each other. they try to be discreet about the whole ' friends with benefits ' thing-- because daddy's perfect princess wouldn't lose her virginity before marriage, right? they wouldn't be caught dead near each other in public, unless it was under the dark lights of a club or party where no one can recognize them... but most of the time they're private.

       she's not cold to him, per se, but she is taking the measure of making sure to keep him at more than an arm's length away emotionally. daiyu knows that she doesn't have to be all fake happy sunshine with him when they aren't in front of other people. when they aren't in couple mode, daiyu tends to just get bored and talk shit to him. there isn't much she can do, but nothing else helps her agenda of ' please don't get too close to me ' agenda that spilling all the tea about other people. though as the whole fake dating thing goes on, she finds herself slowly opening up to him; even though she tries to tell herself over and over that he's only doing this to get his work into a studio, daiyu's brain goes haywire when he treats her the way he does, especially since they're supposed to be in 'not a couple' mode.

       picture perfect girlfriend that is absolutely head over heels for her boyfriend. despite confusing the masses by suddenly dating him, daiyu doesn't let it faze her and just act as if he was the best thing that ever happened to her. she's quite sweet, and likes to show him off ("with that jawline? how could i not?"). sure, she has a habit of being a bit overdramatic with her stories, but she means well (kind of) and doesn't make it unbelievable. after all, everyone already knows that she can't keep a boyfriend for long, and she just wants to prove them wrong.

 ͐01. how does she generally feel about him? doesn't really find him as bad as most people try to portray him as-- she's observant enough to notice the bags under his eyes and the stacks of work on his desk, as well as the open programs on his laptop that she'd spot while he was gone to clean up. not very soft about him, doesn't give too much of a shit about what he does, but she doesn't hate him.

 ͐02. why fake date him, of all people? there weren't many options, and he's not //that// bad looking. no one really thinks of him in a bad way, and, well, she's sure that junhye would just LOVE to find out that she's not only cut off from any pros that come with being daiy's friend, but also that daiyu's somehow snagged her ex-boyfriend.
