- Hello doctor, I have a concern with my health. I have something that make me feel funny in my neck which I can feel the vein get deeper that make me feel rubbing my hand on my neck. It is really annoying me, it start to happens when I had my ankle ligaments reconstruction in two years ago. I came out of the operating theatre and when I moved to a different ward, the vein in my neck started to swell. I suspected that it could be the blood clot, I have told my doctor about it and I had neck scan but it show as normal. I also had blood test and MRI which the results came all clear. I find it strange that i still get the funny feeling in my neck which i can feel the vein get swollen when I go out for a run, play football, fix my car...etc. I have a picture to show you if you want to see what it is? 8:06p

- There is no negative 8:11p
- can you tell me why it have swollen what i might have? 8:11p
- The vein looks like your External Jugular, and is common in people with thin necks. Negative in medical parlance means "normal." Sorry for the confusion. 8:11p
- Does the other side look similar? 8:11p
- no 8:12p
- it only on the left vein 8:12p
- i never have that problem before 8:12p
- i think it cause by the heavy plaster when I had operation 8:12p
- Ok, well the vein looks pretty normal to me. It is also normal for veins to get bigger during activity because of the increased blood flow when you are exerting yourself. I definitely don't think it's a harmful or dangerous condition, and no treatment is needed. 8:13p
- well i never have problem before and it is very annoying me because it make me to keep rubbing 8:14p
- i dont like it 8:14p
- I see. Yes, veins do change over time. Unfortunately there is no good way to get rid of it. I wish I could help you more. 8:15p
- it shouldnt be too much blood flow to the vein when i'm exerting 8:15p
- All of your veins swell a little when you exert yourself. That is just the way veins work. 8:16p
- i'm seeing the specialist on 8th July and i'm hoping they could do something about it but i cant see much 8:17p
- from what you just said 8:17p
- I still think it would be a good idea to see them. They may have other suggestions as well. I am not a vascular surgeon, so they have some additional knowledge about veins as well. 8:18p
- Oh ok thank you for letting me to know, i will ask them about what you said 8:19p
- Absolutely! Is there anything else I can help you with? 8:19p
- Yes with one other thing 8:20p
- Of course. What is it? 8:20p
- My scortal got swollen when Im experting myself 8:20p
- i need you to take a look to see what it might be 8:20p
- OK. if you send me a picture, I will look. 8:21p
- some suggest i might have hydrocele or varicocele 8:21p

- it start to get swell when I go out for a run, play football, fix my car...etc 8:21p
- Yeah. I'm thinking varicocele as well. That would swell with exertion. Have you seen a urologist? 8:22p
- do you know what i might have? 8:22p
- Do you think it varicocele? 8:22p
- would I need to have operation? 8:22p
- Most likely. I suggest seeing a urologist. They will probably want to get an ultrasound. Most varicocoels do not need surgery. 8:22p
- Well I had ultrasound but it came up to normal 8:23p
- it didn't show anything 8:23p
- i think it have missed out 8:23p
- Ah. How long ago? 8:23p
- i'm going to have MRI scan 8:23p
- last year i think? 8:23p
- will MRI pick up varicocoel? 8:23p
- You are right. Ultrasounds will not always see it, especially if it wasn't enlarged at the time. MRI is a good test for that. 8:24p
- Oh ok i'm going to have it on 1st July and I will inform them to let them to know that i might have varicocele and they will need to check on that 8:25p
- before send the results to the doctor 8:25p
- Good. Hopefully they will be able to see it. 8:25p
- Me too, i want to get it sort it out as I have that problem for 2 years now 8:26p
- is varicocele related to ED? 8:26p
- because i cant be able to get morning erection 8:26p
- and when i'm with my partner 8:26p
- No. ED has many causes, but varicocoele is not one of them. 8:26p
- well thats strange because i don't get morning erections as I used to be 8:27p
- Do you smoke? And do you exercise regularly? 8:27p
- I have a cold reaction to my glans when I have the bowel movement 8:27p
- no i dont smoke and yes i'm doing exercise regulary 8:28p
- i have nearly lost 1st 8:28p
- i'm on 14st 10lb at the moment 8:28p
- OK. Good. Those are the lifestyle changes that are most important to ED. ED tends to be either a general health (cardiovascular) or psychological issue. Congratulations on the weight loss! That's fantastic! 8:29p
- yeah it is, i'm trying to lose the weight to get the 6 pack which it good for my penis, but unfortunately it will not help as i dont get enough blood flow to the penis 8:30p
- I have a cold reaction to my glans when I have the bowel movement 8:30p
- do i have a poor circulation? 8:31p
- The weight loss may be partially responsible though. It takes your body time to adjust to the lower fat content. The erection issues may go away in time. And most likely not on the poor circulation. Having your glans change temperature at times is totally normal. 8:31p
- is it possible to cure the problem to treat ED by vigra pills or if it would help to cure varicocele to treat my ED problem? 8:32p
- Yes, your ED can be treated with Viagra or other drugs like that. The varicocele really doesn't have anything to do with ED, but it can't hurt to have a urologist look at it. 8:32p
- i think it is related to varicocele because the doctor i spoken to they said it is related to my ED problem 8:33p
- because it got my scrotal swollen that i difficulty to get the errection 8:33p
- Ok. Well a urologist is the best person to ask about that. I definitely think you should see one. 8:33p
- i am going to, i need to see him but i need to get the results first 8:34p
- That you do. You are doing everything the way you should. 8:34p
- I am being told that we are almost out of time. Is there anything else I can help with? 8:35p
- I hope they will be able to diagnosis the problem i have and hopefully they will be able to cure 8:35p
- No not reall 8:35p
- *really 8:35p
- I hope so too! 8:35p
- Have a great day! 8:35p
- thats all for today, thanks for your help!
