  35. Hopefully you're not afraid of heights, though you may get dizzy turning the
  36. camera angle round and round to see where you're going. This is where you will
  37. learn more about your mother, Martha, and your ultimate task. Talk to people
  38. for glimpses into the past and raid the town.
  39.  
  40. Before going up the main stairs, go left to find a small tunnel through the
  41. mountain. During the day, an old man next a bonfire will tell you about a tower
  42. to the heavens where the Dragon God watches over all. Interesting. Now go back
  43. through the tunnel. The inn is straight up the steps and the church is over the
  44. bridge to the left. There is nothing to find in the inn and no one to talk to.

  46. The weapon and armor shops are to the right, and if you go up the stairs inside
  47. here, you emerge on the next level of the town. The house to the left of this
  48. exit has a [SMALL MEDAL] in the left dresser. Before going higher, walk to the
  49. right and down the stairs, then enter the house set between the towers. Answer
  50. the question truthfully (of course) and you will learn about the Magic Carpet
  51. and the Magic Key. There are three pots in the kitchen area and the middle one
  52. has a [SEED OF DEFENSE]. There's also a book with some comments about a long
  53. gone leader. The man in the kitchen will explain that he once was a craftsman
  54. in Granvania. If you have the Santa Rosa Holy Ore, he will recognize it and
  55. offer to refine the stone for you. Agree to this and return to pick up the
  56. [SACRED JEWEL] after staying a night at the inn. Don't think you can fool him
  57. by just walking outside and fighting monsters 'til daybreak, or by using the
  58. Lamp of Darkness and casting the [Timeswitch:Day-Night] spell. Perhaps he's
  59. friends with the innkeeper and wants you to contribute to the local economy by
  60. actually paying for a night at the inn. The joke's on him, though, because any
  61. inn will do, even the free one at Granvania!

  63. From this house, continue going down the path and left to reach a treasure
  64. chest containing the [MAGIC KEY]. Walk back up this path to where the girl
  65. stands, and to the right there is an opening in the wall. Go inside and follow
  66. the passage to a treasure chest. YAY! The [MAGIC CARPET] is ours! Also, the
  67. Magic Key can open other doors elsewhere.

  69. Now, wind your way up to the building at the top of the town and enter. Here
  70. you will find the four elders who will explain much about the world. There are
  71. three realms: a heavenly realm for the holy ones; earth, the realm of humans;
  72. and the underworld, the realm of demons. The people of El Haven are the
  73. gatekeepers who prevent the worlds from interacting with each other. The elders
  74. also give a hint about the Sea Temple gate in the watery corridor to the north.
  75. (That's the place you came through in the ship and can return to when you have
  76. the necessary items.) After speaking to them all, climb the stairs and speak to
  77. the girl in this room. She will give you a book called the
  78. [[HEAVENLY:ZENITHIAN] HYMNAL]. This is a collectible.

  85. Leave the town and find a patch of ground that is smooth and large enough for
  86. you to roll out the carpet. If it's not suitable, you'll be told so. Although
  87. the carpet won't go over mountains or forests, it's very useful since you avoid
  88. battles while flying. It is also faster than the ship. Keep it in the personal
  89. inventory of Hero or Rex so you know where to find it, though you can use it
  90. from the bag as well. Just highlight it with the cursor and choose "Use" from
  91. the options. You can now explore some areas of the world map that you couldn't
  92. access before.

  94. To progress the story you need to find a tower in the central continent. This
  95. place is called the "Tower to [Heaven:Zenithia]". In fact, you CAN do things in
  96. a different order and find your way back to the Fairy Village through the
  97. forest to the east of Sarabona, but the fairies will tell you to go to the
  98. Tower.

  100. To reach the Fairy Village, use the carpet to cross the river to the east of
  101. Sarabona and walk down through the wooded area to the south where you'll find
  102. the Lost Forest. Navigate the pathways to find the invisible fairy near a
  103. bonfire and Rex or Tabitha will lead you out of the magical forest and back to
  104. the Fairy Village. See the separate section for more details.

  121. Say no to a drink from the barmaid (the pub is at the top left corner of the
  122. town) and she will open the door to the bar. Go down into the cellar and open
  123. the door to two treasure chests containing [15 GOLD] and a [STONE FANG].

  125. 2. Oraclebury
  126. Walk to the top wall of the town and head left. There is a small hole leading
  127. down into the jail. Open the red door with the key and talk to the man. All he
  128. does is tell you that the slot machine second from left if the back row (of
  129. blue slots) in the Casino has the best payout rate. Can't say I noticed much
  130. difference.

  132. 3. Port Selmi - daytime only
  133. Enter the inn and go behind the dancer's stage. Walk right and open the red
  134. door at the end of the corridor. Head up the stairs and open two treasure
  135. chests containing a [THORN WHIP] and a [SEED OF LIFE].

  137. 4. Granvania Castle - daytime only
  138. Head up the stairs at the entrance and then walk left on the second floor. Open
  139. the red door to the room that adjoins the bar and you will find two treasure
  140. chests containing [3000 GOLD] and the [METEORITE BRACER]. This is a very useful
  141. accessory that doubles the agility of the wearer.

  143. 5. Sealed Shrine
  144. You can now open the blue door to the Sealed Shrine up the river from Sarabona,
  145. just west of the watergate. Though you still might not be strong enough for the
  146. upcoming battle, this is the first time you can make the attempt.
