2. Spatial Swordsmanship
3.
4. Section One - Story
5. It began many years ago now. The day that Ren Shi put down Neo Invidia. A man who was, by all means, a blight upon this world. But also a man with a family with many, many loved ones left scorned and wounded in the heart by his passing. Taiga Rowan was one such person. Neo had been basically another father to him - and now Ren Shi had earned the unfiltered ire of Taiga, for taking away what he loved. But Taiga is not one to simply murder a man like Ren Shi, no, the victory he wanted to achieve went far beyond shedding blood. Ren had taken something precious from him, and now Taiga sought to do the same. What more whole a victory is there to achieve, than to take everything that a man is and make it seem like it was all for nothing? To surpass him on every level and overtake him. The ultimate karma. That is what Taiga desired.
6.
7. So the first step was to master his own Wayfinding. To try and replicate the success Ren Shi had, teleporting around the battlefield at instantaneous speeds. But this was the weight of Taiga's pride. To force himself to copy another mans style meant shirking the benefits of his own. For that, he paid dearly. Fighting Isaac in Levengard, the limitations of Taiga's Wayfinding, forcing them to try and replicate the same fighting style of Ren Shi cost him his arm. He was unable to uphold his ideals, butchered in the streets. His failure is clear.
8.
9. Though it may be enough to put down would-be brutes like Aku , Taiga's frustration is clear. He's brutal, needlessly so, hungry for a single win. A chance to prove himself useful and strong. His application of Wayfinding in battle is still lacking something. Throwing his sword around through portals has its own share of weaknesses, and it's certainly not what Ren Shi does. Watching young men get their tongues ripped out isn't either, really. This savage treatment of the prisoner he captured leaves Taiga filled with doubt. Is anything he's doing right anymore? His own sense of justice put into question. He's killed men before, many men - but was Aku really one that needed to die? Surely Thera could see that he was manipulated, misguided, like Taiga was in his youth. How can he ever hope to raise his blade as anything other than a tool for massacre at this rate? It's his karma.
10.
11. But no lost arm or beheaded criminal would sting as hard as losing Aya. This is a person who cared for Taiga. Who offered him peace of mind through music and believed that the anger inside of his heart would one day be quelled. He lost her to Sors Ultovex by a single minute. Just a moment too slow. A split second out of reach and he lost someone he cared for - someone who absolutely did not deserve that fate.
12.
13. Even in his more mundane attempts to spend time with Ethan, he's met with tragedy and failure. Unwittingly walking in on a past ally of his, Marceline, training her Rift Magic. Taiga knows he should squash the bug, but he's seen far too much senseless murder recently to bring himself to it. More pressing than that, a Nethradin had popped out of her rift. Lovely. Pissed off beyond belief, Taiga threw himself at it. Alone. He was defeated effortlessly, having to rely on his friends once more to bail him out.
14.
15. It's made clear by now that Ren Shi was a far, far better Wayfinder than Taiga - and he was hopeless without a clue on how to catch up to him. Too stubborn and prideful to ask to help, he's forced to reflect on his own past to find the answer. Ethan had once displayed a certain technique... redirecting a blade. So he starts studying. It's what he's best at, after all. Ren Shi had mastered Warper magic, a far more advanced form of Wayfinding that Taiga just couldn't reach.
16.
17. But would it really be enough...? For so long Taiga was stuck in his way of copying Ren Shi exactly. Taking all that he was and stripping it down. How could he achieve true victory if he settled for this? He could tell himself it was 'surpassing him' through ingenuity, but was that really the truth? It's fighting Laemor, that gives him another answer he had never seen coming. In front of a live audience, Taiga is beaten once more. But in this defeat, he finds a humbling truth.
18.
19. He cannot surpass Ren Shi at being Ren Shi. He must instead be himself. Laemor discovered that long before Taiga, and had developed his own unique 'Bounded Field' technique in order to work towards his own strength - working smarter, not harder. So if he could not catch up to Ren Shi's mastery of Warper magic... and he could not replicate the 'Bounded Field' of Laemor. Then the true answer was to adapt Wayfinding to his own style.
20.
21. Redirection
22. Though wholly incompatible with his previous fighting style of shadowed wings and massive swooping dives, the way Taiga finds to combine his swordsmanship and Wayfinding is by redirecting his own weapon, and by extension his opponents weaponry into his targets. It will require him to adjust, adapt and overcome a whole new set of challenges. For it, he may lose a few vital techniques he had learned in the past - having to shed them in order to grow stronger, more complete.
23.
24. Section Two - Mechanics
25. I would like to request a refund on Ultrasmash. This fit with the IC of Taiga in his younger years, angry and charging full force ahead at everything in his way. But the massive wind-up and big shadow-wing bird-divey bullshit doesn't work with his new techniques. He must adapt to life without it, using what he's learned to create his own, new style.
26.
27. Using the 15 RPP gained from this, I will be purchasing Spatial Swordsmanship.
28.
29. Section Three - Goals
30.
31.
Apologize to Ren Shi. This is the hardest thing to do, but Taiga has finally realized just how fucked up a person Neo Invidia really was. Through his journey learning Spatial Swordsman, he's finally let go of that grudge to surpass him. Defeating him will not make Agartha a better place - and his energy is much better spent hunting monsters of the night than in-fighting.
32.
33.
34.
Kill Sors Ultovex. That motherfucker has had it good for too long.
35.
36.
37.
Kill Salvas Voss. My father has been living a life of regret and war for too long. The only peace he will find is in death. If I cannot convince him to turn mortal and live out the rest of his days in peace, the final gift I might give him is the end of his existence. This will be heartbreaking.
38.
39.
40.
Continue to serve as a hunter of the darkness. When there are villains crawling around outside your own city, snatching children away in the dead of night, someone has to be there to hunter the hunters.
41.
42.
43.
Eventually pass on all that I know to the future generation. Taiga is mortal, and aging. He has to accept he will not be around forever to defend the ones he loves. The best he can do is give them the tools to survive. Perhaps. Maybe. He'll one day find someone to become a Dhampir like himself. But that would require a lot of convincing, considering Taiga isn't too fond of what he's become himself.
44.
45.
46.
love you
47.
