So there have been hints that Alastor is quite the mama's boy, any thoughts on what happened to dear old mom, where she ended up?

That depends. If she was the one who thought him about voodoo and the like, chances are, she wound up in Hell.

No idea and never thought of her teaching him any sort of bad juju. I really, really dig the idea though.

Serial killers oftentimes have the roots of their murderous desires rooted in unhappy childhoods, especially in regards to paternal and authority figures. Given how he reacted to the butcher attacking the sheep demon, I think both he and his mother suffered in an abusive household, and she may have actually been killed by the abuser. I'd imagine that said abuser was probably Al's victims as well.

This is my go to theory. My guess is that Al's old man was not a good person. His mom probably took the brunt of things for him.

If you tie that in to the "patron demon" theory, his mother coming out of a particularly bad beating or actually dying from it may have been the "Yeah I'll sell my soul for the power to exact bloody revenge" tipping point for him.
